  3. didn't quite do the run I'd planned today as unfortunately, Madame MooN doesn't live in the same space / time continuum as the rest of us mere mortals which means that we often eat at unorthodox hours... To be fair she's currentlt doubling up as telephone information service for friends and family wanting updates on her mothers state of health. I managed to finish the washing up by about half 2 and get out of the way before her bestie turned up for the afternoon... I had set the gps to take me south into the morvan with the Dam at the Lac de panneciere as a waypoint and Mont beuvray as a trunaround, back lanes and minor roads only on the way out and a faster trace to get back home. It kind of worked, I still found myself on some very stony tracks, not a probel in itself but not what I wanted really and the gps clearly thinks it's a road. I got a quick drenching on the way back which wasn't forcast either so I had no waterproofs with me ( unusual for me, I usually carry them all the time) but I managed to avoid the worst of it by boxing round the showers and I'd ried out again by the time I got home. 340 km in 6 hrs ( that's an average of only about 55km/h some piccies: Nice address... Crossing the river Chateau Faulin Dam! Here's your "Boeuf Bourguignon"... on the hoof, as it were... Just the other side of this junction I would be liable for a 135€ fine... 100km as the crow flies from my domicile.

  11. Hello all, Earache here. I live in the mountains of Colorado - about 45 miles west of Denver - in the US. Looking forward to checking out this new forum. If anyone is headed out this way, I'd be happy to show you around on the bikes if you'd like.

  15. Its been far too long since I last went for a decent ride on the bike, last Friday a friend of mine Eric, asked if I wanted to join him and his mate Les for a spin out in the country how could I refuse? The route was around 150km around the area to the west of Gandia, a gorgeous day for a ride even if we did take the odd wrong turning. Stopped off a couple of time for refreshments like you do when the temperature climbs to the upper 30's Unfortunately my front facing go-pro had a problem when i got home all the data on the card was corrupt so have to make do with footage from the older camera set up on my rear pannier, but you get the idea. Just part of the trip but it will do a great day.

  16. I like to start the day with a coffee, enjoy a glass of dry red with dinner and then perhaps a spot of cognac in the evening.

  18. My bike camera is a Canon EOS-T6. It fits in my tank bag so well that I just leave it there. We have loads of abandoned towns - or "ghost towns" as well call them - all over the place. This one is about a mile from my home. Lots of building foundations left but only a few complete buildings

  19. Amazing shots......the quality is superb. What camera are you using @Earache? And I see you like visiting old abandoned places........so do I! But over here in Spain there's not just abandoned buildings.......there's completely abandoned villages. Apparently there's over 3000 of them here! Here's an example.......

  22. Rode along some National Forest fire roads on the way home. These are absolutely eveywhere in the mountains; used by the Forestry Service for fire mitigation, etc. Perfect for big adventure bikes to ride around on. Could ride them for years and still never see them all...

  36. I had four bottles of Theakstons Old Peculier last night, first time I've drunk it for 35 years. But more than often I drink cider. I only drink at home nowadays and only on a saturday evening, I can't remember the last time I went to a pub just for a drink .

  38. I've had a few over the years, but since we got the Tiger my bike whorish ways have moderated, since then it's been all Tiger with a brief flirtation with a BMW Light Truck that was a really disappointing machine.
