  1. That's nothing - check out our Main Street in town - an old western movie was filmed there years ago. It hasn't changed much in the last 150 years since it was built...

  3. Rode along some National Forest fire roads on the way home. These are absolutely eveywhere in the mountains; used by the Forestry Service for fire mitigation, etc. Perfect for big adventure bikes to ride around on. Could ride them for years and still never see them all...

  4. My bike camera is a Canon EOS-T6. It fits in my tank bag so well that I just leave it there. We have loads of abandoned towns - or "ghost towns" as well call them - all over the place. This one is about a mile from my home. Lots of building foundations left but only a few complete buildings

  12. you mean why she is standing here with studded snow tires? Sandra Bullock's boy-toy had a little tv show and this bike was built to ride the ice road in Canada, from Inuvik to Tuktoyatuk. After doing that, (and raising hell on ADVRIDER) he sold tried selling the bike. I eventually got it from the BMW dealer in St Louis, Missouri. It had 2,400 miles on it then, 115,000 on it now. It is now referred to as the Uber bike by all the friends who come west to ride.

  14. Another abandoned Spanish village.......Moralejo de Arriba in the Murcia province. Apparently it never had electricity or water, and the last inhabitants left in 1985.

  15. I think it's difficult to quantify it really.......because it's different things to different people. Like me and @Renegade ......he's always been into the club and rally scene. Whereas I've got no interest in that. I was always more into going to race meetings etc......the sport side of things. Whereas he wasn't. So it's a case of people participating in the elements of motorcycling that appeal to them. But, underpinning it all, must be a love of motorcycles. If you don't have that then you're not a biker in my opinion.

  20. We a'll love home movies too right? My best travel story, my pa was in the air force, he could take his wife and three boys down to the airport, sign up for "Asia" on Space Available...and wait.... A few day later we were in Asia You might not get your first choice of Asia, butt, this is the military, you got Asia of some kind Where he was treated like a God, because if you have 3 sons and no girls in Asia? God like status, having a nice white chick with big boobs as his wife was just icing on the cake. Thats my travel story!

  22. Good stuff, us old world people sometimes like to see americans exploring their own history like it’s our own, just on account of all the cinema we see in our living rooms making it feel like our own. Your scenery is better than most of us dream off, so do carry on and post pictures!

  25. Spanish govt restrictions say that you have to be riding for a specific reason. Therefore I was going to the bike dealer in Baza and somehow took a wrong turning! We've all done it! Amazingly I ended up at the site of the former Caniles railway station which first opened in 1894. It was located next to the former “Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes” sugar factory which shut down in 1973. The line itself finally closed in 1984, but the former station buildings have since been restored, and the railway tracks have now been replaced by country walks.

  28. Look at the end of the day some people are casuals and some people aren’t. Some people grew up riding bikes and it has got into their blood and they will always ride bikes, people like me, @XTreme, @boboneleg, @Tym, @MooN and others. Even if they have a small break they come back to bikes, some of us have always had bikes and we always identified with the culture including in the media, we don’t all identify with exactly the same area of biking but we all have things in common and all have crossovers in at least two or three areas. While there was no forum we didn’t stop riding. The casuals on the other hand may have ridden when young but it never really took with them, it was just another mode of transportation, they may have a bike rotting away in the shed so they can say they have one, they like the idea of being part of the biking scene but they need to be stroked and encouraged by others to keep it going and when there is no focus like the forum they just drift away on the tide so to speak. The real difference between casuals and bikers of course is that at the end of the day bikers don’t care if you ride or not because riding is personal to them, sure they like to share it but they don’t need to. Casuals have a desperate need to be included, they need the validation.

  29. Its a bitter sweet time of year, as the weather gets warmer i have to switch to smaller firearms in order to still be able to conceal them from John Doe Dickhead. So i go from carrying my late father's Model 1927 Erjecito and my Bisley to two Ruger LCP's. Special thanks to Comp-tac for their belt, it will tow a truck. Mernickle Custom Holsters holds all my firearms high and close for concealment. Cant forget from whom those cocobolo grips came from, say hi to Esmeralda. Just an FFI, a second firearm being carried is called "a New York reload"......lol

  30. I used to carry a Walther PPKS (.380) as it was a nice small weapon and easy to carry. But now, I just keep a Glock 22 in my truck and don't often carry anymore. The PPKS is just too small for my petite little hands, but is a fantastic little weapon. I keep the Glock mostly for when we're out in the hills - in case bear, mountain lions or pissed off moose start getting upset with us being in their home.

  34. You got me there, we have no castles at all. I have been to Spain a couple of times and really enjoyed the castles and old churches as well as the architecture in general. Fascinates me to look at old buildings and think of how they were built with no cranes, trucks, etc.

  37. Our "history" is only like 150 years as there wasn't anything here prior to that - at least nothing that white men built. And much of the history belongs to Europeans as well; for it was mostly immigrants from Europe that built these towns. Maybe I'll shoot a bunch of pics of town and post them.

  46. It's confirmed! @Buckster is not a Casual! But there's still time for others to distance themselves from this demographic........because until proven otherwise......you're a Casual. So the more times you try......the greater the odds of removing this stigma! Keep going @BusBoy Here's another question......Which bike had the most BHP per CC in 1973?
