  1. Had a friend in from Washiungton state, he stopped over night befoire heading north to Montana. I agreed to take him as far north as I could before having to head back home. First stop was the rock church in Allenspark. Built around 120 years ago, dunno why it's out in the midst of nothing. Didn't want to get any closer; afraid of lightning strikes, etc...

  2. Rode in the British championship sidecar enduros back in the late 70's/early 80's. 920 Norton Wasp..keeping the chair wheel on the ground. My arse is considerably bigger these days! This was taken shortly after the start of the Welsh international 2 day enduro..our white riding gear is still clean..

  7. Railed on for a bit as we were in a bit of a hurry. Next stop was Masonville at the Masonville Store. Odd place; they sell antique / vintage women's clothing and beer. Can't quite figure that one out. Weird biker sculpture across the street...

  9. I can't compete with 'pissing in someone's strawberries' but I have got a few 'leg tales'. At a Bristol NABD Rally we were having a few beers and decided to start the rally games, so they did 'dizzy sticks' and then some dude said it was time to play 'tossing the welly'. Unbeknown to them I had sustituted the welly with an old false leg, they all looked a bit apprehensive so I started and chucked it first , the distance was measured and then other dudes started having a go. After a while it started to become a bit competitive and some guys started eggin on a real huge guy to have a go, he walked over and launched the thing about twice as far as anyone else but as it landed it broke in two. I saw my chance for a laugh and slipped off my leg, started hopping around and hollering about how the hell was I going to ride my bike home now. A girl nearby took a close look at me and fainted on the spot ? ?

  15. So the w*nker in charge of Wales said we are allowed to invade again, well I don't need a second invitation No gestapo on the M4 once I'd crossed the bridge so away we go, off at jct 28, up through Risca and onto Machen, time to stop and get some fuel. Fuckmine, what's all this shit ? Anyway, I got some fuel and made my escape, obviously the they realised that the T700 is too cool to be classed as an off road bike ? Made my way up around Caerphilly and through Abertriwr to go through Senghenydd when all hell broke loose, cops everywhere , chopper in the sky , the whole caboodle . Obviosly looking for stray Ingerlish but I managed to escape. On a serious note, anything on the news boys as it looked pretty serious up there ? Now this is what we're talking about, the road over the top from Bedlinog is a corker............ Onwards and across to Fochriw and passing the remains of the old mines and the bridges that took the trains to them............. and then I sneaked though Dowlais to get to go by the Brecon Mountain Railway to get to Pontsticill. https://www.bmr.wales/ I made my way down past the reservoirs before stopping at Talybont for a coffee break........... I rode on through the back lanes to get to the Upper Chapel road. As this bike is fairly new to me and only just run in I was now in the position to give it a good test. The road from Brecon to Builth Wells via Upper Chapel (Capel Uchaf) is a great road to test a bike, undulations , sharp bends, straights, it has it all and the Yam passed with flying colours, I am really starting to like this bike. Down through Builth and on to Hundred House and so to the A44 before passing briefly back into England at Kington. I took some back roads down through Brilley skirting the border the whole time , got to love a road with a grass strip down the middle and down into Clyro and onto Talgarth, here the road was blocked so I took the alternative route past Llangorse Lake before dropping down through Llangynidr and stopping for another break by the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal ................. I made my way past Abergavenny and Raglan and onto the back roads befor one last stop just before Chepstow and the Severn Bridge to take me back over the water and into England. I've ridden through here before (early in the morning when no one was about) but they're making it plain now that we are not welcome.......... However, it seems that this area is reserved for some other sort of activity ? I'll leave that to your imagination ..................... ?

  16. I'm talking about the days of the long distant past.......where people had personalities, we actually had freedom and nobody really gave a fuck! I always remember the time a bus load of us from Swansea went to Newbury horse race meeting about 40 years ago. A one legged guy (lost it on a GS750) jumped up on a table where Yuppies were sitting, unscrewed his false leg, and balancing on his one leg he pulled out his dick and pissed in their strawberries! And the sad reality is that we'll never see times like that again! So let's hear your moment in time which will never be repeated!

  17. National holiday here. Just happens to fall on my day off too so I didn4t actually have to work it and managed to get out for a ride in the afternoon. it went something like this I have been wanting for some time to go and look at a castle / fort pair that I noticed from the autoroute a while back. Having no real reference point it took me a while to locate themusing google maps and google earth and sort of triangulating from the autoroute, guessing distances. I found them on the "Butte de Thill", about 70km south east of here as the crow flies. I managed to turn that into a 200k round trip though... round a bend... the centre section: translation: " Here, 25th nay 1944, Hitlers babarians tortured and massacred 25 young resistants of the group "Henri de Bourgogne". They gave their lives that France might live" the stone wings to right and left of the centre lists their names and nicknames ( or possibly codenames) much time was spent dodging these, they are all flat out at the moment I had to stop and watch the lemmings for 5 minutes... all heading back to their parisien kennels after the long weekend...

  19. Continuing on my search for abandoned railway stations located on the old GSSR route (closed in 1985) I was planning to visit Tijola today. But looking at the map I realised I hadn't done El Hijate yet, despite having done the stations before and after it. So I thought I'd better pick that one up before I get further into Almeria itself. Here's the map so far......the green spots are where I've already been. In the interests of authenticity I managed to locate an old photo of El Hijate station in what appears to be around the 1950's. That was then..... And this is now.... Read on for Rugged Individualism! Of the stations I've done so far this is the smallest. It's also the one in the worst condition by far! This is the Via Verde (Greenway).....I'd like to have ridden up that! But there's big fines for motorised vehicles accessing them! Hikers, Spandex twats on bicycles no problem! Initially the building itself doesn't seem too bad....... Then you look inside....... Couple of outbuildings are not much better...... Then it was clamber over bushes and banks to get back to the Strom before the place collapsed on top of me! And back up the gravel road where I'd come in! Go ahead Tym......Tweet this shit!

  39. Went from the province of Granada, into Murcia, and then into Castilla–La Mancha to enter the Sierra de las Cabras nature reserve. From then on I was running blind..........cos that's as far as Google Maps goes. The road was pretty decent though......until I got deep into the nature reserve. Then it all changed! It would need a dualsport and a fair degree of offroad riding ability to keep going, and unfortunately I was not in possession of either of those two things. There's some places that an OAP on a 220kg Strom just shouldn't go.......and that was one of them!
