I'll be finishing up a new video for Grasshopper's Ride and plan to explore further down an old airport road that then leads to an FSR (forest service road) I have not been on yet. It is a long week-end here so staying away from all the busy people's is easier when you go further into the backcountry....??4 points

Here's another old Railway Station which me and the wife visited en route to the Brit shops in Albox to get our tea bags and all the other food stuff we need! I'm not going to be consigned to eating the sort of roadkill that @Pedro seems to enjoy! Anyway, I knew this station was going to be a letdown because they've converted the station building into a restaurant and the sidings into a childrens' playground. That totally ruins it for me because I want to see the real thing in a Twilight Zone setting.....not some bloody theme park. It's destroying history! However......on the approach to the station there's old stuff there, the tracks are still down......and best of all a restored Locomotive! Only a small Shunter.......but beggars can't be choosers! First, here's the updated map with the stations that have been visited....... And here's Tijola.......obviously I couldn't resist getting a gratuitous Rugged Individualism photo!3 points

Don Giovanni from the Met in 2000, my son is a huge opera fan. When he was younger he cost us a lot of money as we took him to see Pavarotti (his hero ) three times .3 points

I was out on my trail bike years ago and came to a lane where a workforce from the local council were finishing off putting a pile of large rocks down to stop people going through there when a guy on a trials bike turned up and rode over them like they weren't there followed by a cheer from the workforce and lots of laughter3 points

This ends tonight at midnight, people. I'm thinking maybe next time we should do a primary vote and a main vote with just 2 or 3 bikes, seems like we're spreading the butter too thin with 15 votes for 9 bikes.3 points

Yup. The rock here is mostly granite and marble - very hard to work with when all you have is rudimentary tools like these folks had 100+ years ago. All they had they brought with them from back east - nowhere to buy anything here.2 points

Day off thge bikes today, so I can catch up. Yesterday was brutal - 600 miles with temps of 107 (42C) across Idaho. Most of southern Idaho is a vast wasteland of nothingness - just scrub bushes and long stmraight roads. Kept the speeds at about 90 mph as fuel economy really suffers above that and gas stops are few and far between...2 points

Set off on my annual trip to someplace today. Made it as far as Ogden, Utah after riding around 600 miles for the day. Joing me on this trip is my friend Neil aboard hios GS and friends Dave and Debbie on their GS. Left home in 38F degree (4C) temps and arrived in Ogden at 104F(40C). Didn't take a lot of pics today as we were mostly riding through hpt desert landscapes and soem highways. Did get a few pics at a road works - even has an abandoned house!1 point

It had some signage in front of it with historical facts, so I assume it's been rehabbed a bit by some historical society, etc.1 point
