I shall be taking Costa for his walk in the morning, and then taking the bike out for a ride up to the hills, back home by mid afternoon.3 points

Here's the weird part - no one in the group - except me - drinks! Fuckin' commies! Dave is a fitness guy who's never had alcohol. His wife will sometimes order a drink but never finishes one. Neil is a Chicago cop who has given up alcohol as he deals with so many drunks everyday that it takes the fun out of it for him. But fret not as I have picked up the slack and drink enough for 4. Cheers from my swanky hotel suite in Kalispell, where they had some Reserve at the local carry out....3 points

I think Eric said he was likely to do about 4000 miles. To us that would be the equivalent of travelling from the UK to Afghanistan going through 12 countries!2 points

It's about the ride more than anything else. We always pack in as many miles as we can get done in a day. Dinner at night is secondary - I skipped dinner 2 nights this week as everything was closed by the time we got to the hotel. Check out the attached pic of the route and start / stop times. We started riding at 7:00 AM and just got to the hotel at 9:25PM, Not everyone's cup of tea, I get that. But it's what we like to do.2 points

I've found a very remote abandoned village in the Sierra de Segura mountain range in the Jaen province! Unfortunately I may not be going this weekend for two reasons: 1. I've got a shitload of work on. 2. The temperatures are predicted to be insane........and this location is going to take a few hours to reach. I don't want another bout of heatstroke after last weekend's episode. So I may well be sidelined this weekend........but if I'm not that's where I'll go. What you got planned?1 point

Not sure about driving together, but there’s a forum https://www.ibizaclubpt.com There are 400hp diesel ibizas driving on methanol here, they do street racing together, maybe that counts?1 point

I know butt, the challenge is getting sound, just not the damn wind noise, and its a problem even when not moving. Storm vids are a good example1 point

This go pro is weird @Pedro, its in a freaking waterproof case, how wind noise is even a problem in the first place is odd, anywho, i had a great idea, seemed to work, only to find out: Amazon already bootlegged my idea and sells it for pennies! My R and D is already about $4, inventory costs are up to about $2 now...im out of business before i started.1 point

I used to put a little bit of tape over the camera’s microphone hole, worked great for buffeting.1 point

My uncle was the motorcyclist in our family he had an BMW 100rs my same as this He used to ride with an open faced helmet so he could smoke when he rode, he always had a rolley stuck to his lip, the dash of the bike was covered in fag ash and there were nip burns everywhere. He bought it new and kept it until he past away. He put over 100,000 miles on it he also owned a moto guzzi V50 My father had an old scooter which is still in one of his sheds in bits somewhere. For him it was just transport one of these ugly things My younger brother had a short run with bikes but never really got under his skin like it did with me and my elder brother and sister were just into cars1 point

Don't apologize fro not taking photos, it's rare that you get a road where you can enjoy it that much1 point

The riding is the enjoyment Pedro! Eric's not one of these blokes that rides a couple of miles then sits outside the restaurant all day eating raw sewage!1 point

The ride along the river was long. We saw a road sign that said "Curves next 100 miles" They weren't kidding. That ride wore my ass out; never left the hotel room last night, ordered a pizza to be delivered to theh room and went to bed early. So now, it;;s 4:30 AM and I'm wide awake, Today's ride to Gillette, Wyoming is going to be just as long, hot and tiring.1 point

I love that, as a kid watching tv shows that is the landscape I thought all American mountains were like, either that or desert. We've got similar here but the scale and the distances you cover going through that are different.1 point

No ancestors of mine rode motorcycles, got no offspring and probably will never have any, so it starts and ends here. Couple of stories though, my grandad once got the clap while in the army driving trucks (he didn't get the clap actually driving the trucks, more likely on a stop somewhere ) , and they lent him a service motorcycle to go the pharmacy to buy penicillin, army base was in Alentejo quite far from a town. He learned to ride a motorcycle that day, right before riding it through a fence. He didn't ride anymore, and didn't get penicillin that day either My girlfriend, Maria, remembering how to ride on her CRF230, she much rather preferred touring with me on the GS, though, but we had fun on the dirt bikes as well.1 point
