We haven't got the levels of the cities here. Customers are taking measures when dropping/collecting cars, standing aside when passing. Leaving space when queuing. On the other hand Gt Yarmouth and Lowestoft have big numbers of foreign workers that live and work together. Much higher infection rates.4 points

Well the TL is coming along now with the help of a couple of very good mates. Thread repair done, standard pipes prepped and painted and ready to install. Suspension set up correctly by someone who knows what they’re doing (clearly not me ?) and front brake refurbished. I’m just waiting for a few odds and sods and it’ll be off to the ITV station to start the matriculation process.3 points

This explains why you limited me to an hour when I visited your boatyard, and then when I came back a couple of years later you weren't even there ?3 points

Some bright spark will get that on EBAY. For Sale, Boeing Glider, will need big towing vehicle to get initially airborne, one careful owner.2 points

Booked a day off work today so got up late put the front wheel back on the XR after fixing the puncture and re-greasing the wheel bearings. Then managed to get an appointment at the dentist to fill a hole after the filling fell out a couple of weeks into covid. Just lit the fire in the house thinking of putting my feet up with a few beers for the rest of the day2 points

I’ve been in Ericeira, tomorrow will ride home, which only an hour and a bit. May encounter rain and chilly weather but I bought a woolen sweater today! ? Work is still shit and the country is going into partial lockdown, so I’ll go home for a couple of nights of red wine with the fire burning.2 points

I decided to get out inbetween the showers this morning for a couple of hours . My destination was Cotswold aiport with a hope of catching a glimpse of the last of the British Airways 747's which landed there a couple of weeks ago as their final resting place. I was a bit dissapointed as I couldn't get into the airport but I managed to get a couple of decent shots from the main road, if you look closely you'll see that the engines have been stripped from them already.....2 points

Could have done with it a bit warmer......and a few less fluffy clouds really. But Winter is on the way so I suppose it could be worse. I'm hoping to be out Saturday and Sunday......but I'm still limited to staying within the perimeter of this area. That restriction expires on Monday, but apparently there's a meeting this weekend in order to determine the next stage. So I'm working under the assumption that they'll put the kybosh on movements and make the most of this weekend! What you lot got planned?1 point

When I told him I was driving past Auxerre in 2005......he went into hiding! That sort of behaviour tells you what sort of person he is! Tell 'em @Buckster1 point

Same as what I was thinking. A short ride with a mate to meet for a coffee is fine, but on several day rides two bikes put too much of a strain on things. You're never ready to go in the morning at the same time, almost never really want to ride at the same pace, get tired at different rates, etc, the freedom of going out by yourself in the morning is invaluable to me on trip. Having said that, there are people that just click together perfectly, be it couples or friends who are very much in tune and even when they're not in tune it's still cool, but that's rare to find. Going for a ride with absolute strangers is a nightmare to me, having said that, I might be planning to lead a mototour through northern Portugal next year and see how that business goes1 point

I've had a few people on FaceButt saying they wanted to meet up for a ride. But they never show.....thank fuck. There's no place for babysitting duties in the world of Dark Motorcycling! Tell 'em @Tym1 point

With a few exceptions I prefer to ride alone. I have always preferred boating solo and am perfectly content in my own company. I like to think that this is because I have nothing to prouve, am capable of looking after myself and making my own decisions and don't need other people. ( but it's probably selfishness, that and the fact that nobody else will put up with me for more than an hour...?) If Other people want to only ride in groupes then fine, "chaqu'un sa merde" as they say over here. I have ceased trying to understand other people.1 point

LOL i know what you mean bob. i called into the westend cafe on the way back from a ride once for quick snack before heading home and was listening to a group of lads bragging about how far they had been it was about 60miles they asked me where I'd been and after i told them i had just done 190 miles of back roads and trails and still had another 50 to get home they all looked quite embarrassed especially because i was on my XR400 LOL1 point

Well, the mystery has been solved. It’s been helicoiled before with a metric insert as you would expect but it seems the sump plug is an imperial sized one. That was bound to give way at some point so just glad I got it home. Repair in hand along with preparation for matriculation onto Spanish plates.1 point

Well it was an adventure getting this beast back to Spain from the UK. Hemel Hempstead to Plymouth is well over 200 miles in biblical rain and there was so much water ingress that it limped the last 15 miles on one cylinder. Dried out on the 24 hours ferry crossing in some of the roughest sea conditions I’ve ever experienced but luckily I don’t get seasick. Docked in Bilbao 3 hours late so had a 325klm ‘sprint’ to the overnight hotel in Soria followed by a 622klm ‘dash’ the next day to get home. Just over 800 miles in all and man, that bike flies! Only took me 2 days to recover. ???1 point
