So, today I rode to the supermarket .... proper casual, I know! I was going insane at home and had to go out, was in danger of running out of wine, had had run out of olive oil, can't have that so any excuse is a good one for warming up the bike. Stopped by my local favourite shop for a coffee, what a nice place this is, Dainese outlet, plus coffee shop and wine shop. Bought 4 bottles of my favourite local Syrah, said hello to a couple of friends, meanwhile the sun came out and the weather turned glorious. Heading back home Took a little excursion off the main road It's been raining a lot over the last few days, and this is quite sandy terrain, turned back when it got too soft for my liking Properly green in the Ribatejo now Brief stop at the supermarket, apart from the groceries I decided to buy some toilet paper in the spirit of the season5 points

So folks, if anyone fancies a trip out on the local trails in south east Spain once this pandemic shite is over with then maybe give Crixus Motorsport a shout. Proper good blokes with a wealth of knowledge and they can tailor their trips to whatever you need. Nothing in it for me, just helping out a couples of good mates.3 points

I much prefer to tour alone.I never really plan anything just point my bike towards where i want to go and ride. I usually camp three days and then hit a motel the fourth day when i stink too much. So far I've managed to ride over !00,000 kilometers all over North America. Some of my favorite areas are right here in BC. Down the spine of the Rocky Mountains from BC through Idaho,Montana,Wyoming,Colorado, All the red rock US desert states. Utah, Arizona ,New Mexico, Colorado,Nevada. The entire Pacific coast from BC through Washington, Oregon, California. I also really liked the rural areas of Georgia, Alabama, the Carolina's,Virgina and Maryland.3 points

Still can't leave the perimeters of the town area so it was up into the mountains via a different route. Going this way you encounter about 20 miles of narrow single lane roads with literally hundreds of bends......and they're coming up every 100 yards or so. It was 15C in the town when I left, but going up in altitude the temperature drops considerably......I gotta get my bloody handguards fitted soon. So here you go......if you're totally locked down you may find this content distressing.2 points

Pete, is it permitted to post up details of a trail riding outfit local to me? I help out from time to time as a favour but there is absolutely nothing in it for me other than having a day out.2 points

They should keep you on payroll to ride to all the major cities, everywhere you go in Spain people lock themselves inside!2 points

It's that one I bought from eBay, helps ventilation and is quite great in hot weather to avoid sweaty balls. It also helps to firm the seat up a bit and I like it more like this.2 points

Today I rode from my home in the countryside to Ericeira in the seaside. It was a bright sunny day, and felt amazing after the last few days’ storm. A short detour exploring an offroad track, I’ll go back with no luggage as it’s a little bit steep. In light of recent BOTM flops I decided to go for a photo shoot. Onwards, always taking the small roads on the map is a good policy for finding cool spots of road. Lisbon’s wine country is looking great will autumn colours. And then, near Ericeira looking at some big waves.1 point

What's all that white on the floor Pedro? It looks like UK roads in Winter when the councils explode salt factories all over them.1 point

Bit of a walk today to look at an old Motte and Bailey. That was totally hidden by trees and I couldn't get very close to it, so no pictures of that. The stream is the River Roding. I could hear some bloke huffing and puffing whilst thatching a roof but couldn't see him. Took the picture of the Beetle because I had one the same once. The straw fox caught me by surprise. Just liked the sunlight on some but not all of the grave stones. Is this God's way of telling you who was good and who was naughty during life? I'm colour blind but could see the Sloes a way off. Liked the stocks on the village sign.1 point

Public Holiday today in Spain....Día de los Muertos....The Day of the Dead! Though we always think of it as "The Day we Dodged the Bullet". It also marks 15 years to the day since we got here, so it was only right to celebrate the occasion with a bit of Styling and Profiling. All done within the perimeters of this area of course......as per the latest Covid directives! What you see in the pics and vid is not some obscure farm track, it's actually the only direct "road" that connects two towns!1 point

Today was the first time i have been aloud out the house for 2 weeks so i take a little ride to try and regain some sanity but stuck in RCT doesn't give me much choice in where to ride, the roads are busy as hell even for the bike and the lanes I've done a thousand times before but I'm going anyway. I takes the 650 to test the front end rebuild from last weekend and the Mitas C02 rear tyre. After traversing my way though the traffic to Porth about 4 miles north of my home its straight up to Miriam's bench again and a stop for a breather as this track is a bit harder on the 650 and i bloody needed it after 2 weeks of 3 meals a day and no exercise I decide to go over to the Cynon valley from here past the moto x practice track a nice gravel road through there but the guy that runs it keeps locking the gates, as far as I'm aware its still a vehicular right of way so i shall be reporting this again. I managed to bounce the bike through the horse gate to the right with no real problem but that's not the point it should not be locked And the same with the gate at the other end of the lane, he don't mind people using it when their paying to ride the track the twat A bit of road and a nice lane heading back towards home you could even do this on a 650GS and with wonky knees to ? No real Autumn colours yet Stopped to say hello to this pair but they weren't interested so i bid them farewell and carried on I decide to check out the old ford i haven't been across it in a long time. The route down to it hasn't been used for a long time either The concrete ramp is slippery as hell with a big drop into the water and lots of loose rock. Too rough for me to attempt on the 650 luckily there is a footbridge i could use instead I decides to do a loop back round to the start of the horsey lane as there's another lane off to the left i haven't done in years, the start has been blocked so another check for me to find out its status I have no problem squeezing through, this lane is a nice ride down through woodland I remember after this bit there's no going back as it gets a bit washed out ahead its all down hill so should be ok And i wasn't wrong, a bit rough for the 650 and me really. I had the bike propped upright for a photo but the bloody stick snapped good job the bank was there Why do photos always make things look easy ahh a nice gentle lane and i need it to cool down after the last one but it wasn't like this for long I haven't ridden along here in over 10 years as it's not quite legal and i suddenly realised I'm impressed with the C02 tyre it got quite mucky and the tyre had no trouble pushing me through it all back to the road via the old coal tip used to have great fun on these as a kid a hell of a lot more growth on it now though Next track is up though the woodland on the side of the mountain behind the bike here At the top of this old coal tip is the aptly named jam pot, not quite sure what it was for but it was to do with the old coal industry here years ago A bit more road and onto the next mountain, Again quite a difficult track for the 650 but it manages I'm just along for the ride I ride up onto what is known as the gap, I'm on dodgy ground now I'm right on the RCT border here, to the left is RCT and the right Merthyr And from here it was home i did have to cross the boarder for about a mile but i made sure no covid jumped off or onto me honest ? a good ride to pull me out the rut I've been in for the last two weeks. The 650 might be a rough old dog but i just love thumping around on it always cheers me up1 point

And in this case it's me! Because I get the feeling we're going to be going back into a total lockdown soon. And that will mean the Army back on the streets patrolling again.......that's not something you can ignore. So I'm making the most of this weekend! At the moment the restrictions imposed mean I can't go into another town......I have to stay within the perimeters of this one. But fortunately there's plenty of scope for riding round the vast open countryside around this place. The elements were in my favour.....24C and blue skies! So it would have been rude not to take advantage of that! And besides that.....I love this fucking bike! And I still want to ride it like a bit on the side!1 point

3 months ago I visited the abandoned Spanish village of Retamalejo. You may remember that it was the day that I ended up with heatstroke because the heat came down really early......it actually reached 43C. In fact my hands were shaking so much I couldn't even hold the camera steady......and I was only able to see a fraction of what was there. Because it's actually the biggest abandoned village that I've visited! Well now the heat isn't a problem, I've got a much better camera, and a bike that's far better suited to this sort of stuff. Yes, I'm still old and fucked......but you can't have everything can you? So this is Retamalejo Remastered......and I really went through the place in some depth today. There's a vid walkthrough, along with lots of pics of shit that's falling down....and lots of pics of shit that's already fallen down Just a warning to Casuals......don't attempt shit like this yourself because it could well lead to Death and Dismemberment! And of course I'm sure you don't need me to tell you this is Dark Motorcycling!1 point

Had a serious session with the physio this morning which did my arm some good so I thought I'd better cancel that out straight away by going riding this afternoon out towards Chablis and Tonnerre first leaft home about 3 ish. Almost caught the curvature of the earth here, or what would be the curvature if it wasn't actually flat of course... 9/10ths cloud cover but not cold, about 16c I think. Chablis Vinyards going golden, shame the light was so poor a horsey farm for Pete and in a small village "Massangis" I nearly missed this but Tigger said "Oh! Tymmeh's Tomos!" But it wasn't, it's Motobecane from 1974 ( i think) and there's another one the other side I spent an hour or so here, this guy doesn't really sell them, he does them up. the motobecane will do about 70kph he reckons and last year he rode it down to the Millau viaduct and back with some mates on similar machines, that would be a hoot! in the vice in his workshop/ front room was the motor from a 1959 Solex his whole workshop looked like it had slipped out of the 60,s and today; The light was fading fast but when he said he used to ride big bikes and still had a Thruxton and a Velocette in the garage out the back I just had to have a peek and was confused to find only one bike... 'turns out to be a Velocette Venom Thruxton (which I didn't know even existed, I thought only triumph did a "thruxton") from 1967 if I remember right. gorgeous machine... but he rather i didn't take pics of it as it's worth quite a lot of money apparently. I still had an hour or so to ride home and it was nearly dark so I didn't take any more pics and got home around 7. My arm now hurts like hell, but it was worth it.1 point

And ironically I can't post it on Social Media because I was there illegally. The location in question was an old Railway Tunnel.......no trains have gone through there for 36 years now! And it's in a very remote location! @Max GSSR told me nobody ever goes there so it would be fine.......however I came across 3 hikers at the end of the tunnel! Played the lost Tourist card so all fine......but to keep the charade going I obviously had to turn back and didn't get as many pics as I wanted! So here you go......this really is Dark Motorcycling!1 point
