  4. You've got an advantage this year @XTreme, by creating this place. I know you'll say you're not eligible but bollocks to that, you're just fearful your white skin can´t cope with the attention, but god knows you're having trouble in BOTM and we won't make a vote for BELADMOTM (British Expat Living in Andalucian Desert Member Of The Month)

  5. I used to twist the right grip until I saw God then I backed off, but after smacking a deer going 65 mph mid point in a down hill tight corner in Northern California I have somewhat reformed myself. I take the high speed shit to the track now.

  8. Since typing this this seemed to have a number of customers walking into the workshop and stand next to you while I'm working and start asking questions. Think we've got a stupid virus going around here.

  11. the gvot and press here are subtley leaking tiny hints that lockdown may last beyond Christmas, vague suggestions of the possibility, cannily avoiding questions on the subject etc which to my mind means they already know it will but are letting the idea permeate slowly, almost subconsciously, so that when they have to make the announcement publicly most people have already assimilated the idea and will just say " I told you so" rather than have an uprising. I knew this would happen any way due to SOD's 3rd rule of holiday. i was in confinement from march to mid june. 3rd week June to last week october I worked my nuts off pretty much 6 days a week so that all the other "W"anchors could have their annual holidays, my annual holidays in september were cancelled to enable this. I got my annual holiday end oct 1st half november and will have 2 weeks imposed from mid dec to 2nd jan. Sod's 3rd rule enters into play and guess what? Confinement from 1st november probably lasting till 2nd Jan when I am due back to work... I do sometimes think that I mast have been akin to Ghengis Khan in a past life... still, if it goes on for longer than that I'll be on holiday permanantly I expect, so I might actually be able to go riding.

  13. Or am i crazy? I love BMW's new M 1000RR . I've had my fleet for a long time and have enjoyed riding them a lot but lately i have been thinking maybe it's time to mix it up a bit. I know it's crazy buying a track only super bike but ....i really want to ride a M1000RR in anger on the track. This thing is sick....but at $35,000 bucks US..... yikes !!!!! I know it's stupid but i'm almost 60 and my body is failing. it's getting down right hard for me to crunch myself small enough on a sport bike to ride fast on the track. If i don't do it soon i will not be able to. Can i afford it? nope not at this time but if i sold all my other rides i might be able to swing it. What's the opinions should I grow up and act my age? or give racing one more hurrah even though i am too fat ,slow and big to ever be actually competitive now

  14. One month away from nominations for MOTY (Man of the Year) and TOTY (Twat of the Year). So keep your eye open for twats......which won't be difficult! What will be more difficult however, is identifying people who are actually making a positive contribution to the forum in terms of the quality of their posts, their interaction with others, advising on bikes etc. In fact it's difficult to think of anybody that serves any useful purpose whatsoever......besides the two ladies of course! You never know.....we may get our first WOTY?

  15. It's the Perfect Storm! Due to Covid we're restricted to staying within the town perimeters, but we're just about out of our Brit food.....inc tea bags! However, the Brit supermarkets are all in Albox, Almeria. And I think you're all familiar with my bi-monthly visits by now! To make things more tricky, I suspect home confinement is heading our way soon.......with Xmas approaching! So after carefully studying the regulations it appears as if we can leave the town area, and the province, if it's work related! And what do you know? I have a client in Albox! So I rang him today, told him the score, and he's giving me an alibi in case I get a pull. So tomorrow, it's keep business papers and laptop in the car, along with tax returns to prove the existence of the business. And the destination will be Albox! Fingers crossed I don't get to experience......

  20. Always been the case though Pedro......Mods and Admins are not eligible for MOTY. And this place was an escape from Facebook politics, Covid, and conspiracies for me during the Lockdown really. In fact I thought it would be just me and @Tym here.......but it turns out there were others who wanted to escape as well. I'm still surprised we're still here and going strong.......and it's followed the DSUK path which is what I wanted. Because in my mind DSUK was always unfinished business.

  24. So folks, if anyone fancies a trip out on the local trails in south east Spain once this pandemic shite is over with then maybe give Crixus Motorsport a shout. Proper good blokes with a wealth of knowledge and they can tailor their trips to whatever you need. Nothing in it for me, just helping out a couples of good mates.

  27. I did a trip to the old Railway Station in Caniles earlier in the year but I wanted to revisit it on the Beemer.......and I've got a better camera now. So much easier manoeuvring around the platform on the Beemer......this thing is bloody brilliant! Caniles and back is 70 miles.......and the Beemer did it using one gallon of petrol while going at motorway speeds. So the run this morning cost less than €5.

  28. Dark Motorcycling was the original plan......searching for an abandoned village in the Murcia province! However, it didn't quite turn out like that. I'd located it on Google Maps and Google Earth, rode across the border into Murcia and then followed the only trail from the road. Unfortunately, after a couple of miles down it, and getting covered in dust, the trail led me into a private hunting reserve! Which I'd have to actually ride through to get to the abandoned village! As getting shot at wasn't exactly what I had in mind for the day, I made my way back onto the main road. But all is not lost......I did stop to get petrol on the way back and found yet another service station that's been abandoned. So at least I was able to do my Omega Man bit in there! When I got back to town it was fuel it up.......and hose it down! Yes......I found a petrol station that was actually open! This Beemer is amazing on fuel......I estimate around 70mpg in normal usage! Rugged Individualism was never as economical as this before. And I was definitely glad I was on this today on the offroad sections......so much easier than the Strom. Yes, I still ride like a pussy in those environments.....but at least it's not hard work now!

  29. It was a national holiday today so I thought I'd get an hour out on the Beemer! I've already tested it on Motorways, A and B roads, farm tracks and light offroad paths. All good so far.....so I thought I'd give it a test on the canal paths! These have multiple variations of surfaces varying from billiard table smooth to trenches.......and just about everything in between. Along with bizarre cambers and falling debris strewn across your path. And there's the added bonus that if you get it wrong you'll end up dropping 6 feet into the canal. This particularly one is relatively easy......the final one up into the reservoir itself is a bit rough! It's virtually all concrete but it's completely broken up into various zig zag patterns and trenches which can trap your tyres and take you off course! That's for another day.....I just wanted a gentle jaunt this afternoon! After all, I am a Pensioner FFS!
