Waking up took me a while, I planned on a long ride but ended up only left the house by 10, that doesn't give a lot of time before the lockdown at 13, so I just went to the Douro, and had a cup of coffee there. I don't spend many weekends here, but this is where a lot of bikers come for a short weekend morning ride, they meet up at the marina's cafe before riding back, it's only about 25 or 30km to Porto via a twisty road. This is a cool road they ride but on weekends it's just too much lazy traffic, too many bikes too. I chose to keep to a smaller cafe with almost nobody there instead of joining the mob, social distancing comes very natural to my reserved ways. On the other side of that river, right to the red cafe is where all the bikes are, maybe you can see them if you're able to zoom in. They were making themselves heard from this side as everyone that arrived seemed to have a stuck throttle Going back I avoided the busy road, but my plan was to explore a "Serra" that I had been curious about for some time, Serra da Boneca was my stop on the way back home. The dirt roads getting to the more scenic spots were all closed, I don't really know why, I expected the road to get a lot steeper so I walked the last 100 or 200 meters. Turns out the steeper bit was exactly where they put the gate, which isn't cool . It was quite windy up there, quite nippy too, but the views were nice. Got back home in time to buy some bread before the lockdown. Gave the bike a wipe before lunch, meant to wash it properly but I don't like washing it without being able to ride it warm and dry after, this bike hides water poodled inside like it's magic.3 points

I had a message from blunder road (thunder road) motorcycles to say the brake pads for the XR were in, so decided to take the dog via the little country roads to Bridgend to pick them up, when i get there they sure lived up to their nick name they ordered me rear pads instead of the fronts I'd asked for? so i bought them to keep in the spares box. That means another visit next week, ahh well it got me out on the bike and i stayed out for another couple of hours, it was wet and windy but the waterproofs kept me dry quite enjoyed it. only took a couple of photos twas a little wet you see The road to the bike shop is not the best or it is the best depending on how you look at it ? Heading up over the Bwlch mountain road And heading home3 points

amazing isn't it. My father, who is an intelligent man ( or was ) is still convinced that the whole thing is blown out of all proportion ( though he doesn't actually deny it is a problem). In His defence, he has reached an age where he has nothing to loose, thinks the world has become a horrible place and doen't really want to be a pert of it anymore anyway. I just have to remind him gently that that by not obeying the rules on this, though he might not be bothered, he may well infect somebody else who doesn't feel the same way...3 points

My youngest boy in NL (29) had a Covid test this morning........cos he came into contact with someone who's since been diagnosed as positive. He gets the results in 36 hours.......so just hoping it comes back negative.3 points

What i want to know is how the hell do you keep a motorcycle clean and abuse it by using it to go on a road trip, it would take me 6 months and 16 bounty jumbo rolls of double ply paper towels to clean to ride those miles. Whats the topic?3 points

There are travel "suggestions" here, don't go out unless you have to kind of thing. You can "play" outside but keep it local and no groups. Not really a concern as we just go into the forest and don't play well with others anyways. ? So today we enjoyed a nice ride in the misty forest. Stopped at a waterfall for my BOTM pic and Bagheera wanted to take a shower.....? Plan to ride around tomorrow and Sunday as well as work on my next YouTube video "First Snow"3 points

This is Canales! And it's a difficult one to call......because it's not an abandoned village in the strictest sense of the word. However......I've been there many times over the years and never seen a soul. And during that time more and more properties have been abandoned and left to crumble. It really is Omega Man territory out here.....because there's nobody to be seen, the buildings seem to be devastated........and all the while a Pandemic rages amongst the general population. To make it even more startling, it's alleged that somewhere out in the remote areas around this place there are mass burial grounds of Franco's victims from the Spanish Civil War as well. So taking all that into account, I have to say......This is Dark Motorcycling!2 points

still in confinement here. weather clear but cold and we had the first frost of the season this morning. Had to send No. 1 out for supplies this morning as Madame MooN is not well. I don't think it's the dreaded lurghy but she does so as a professional hypochondriac she is is busy preparing for the worst .2 points

Nice pics @Grasshopper's Ride, i forgot my camera butt, i rode downtown, my new 12 volt coil ran the LED;s no problem on Loosenuts with the battery disconnected, the only flicker comes when you kill the motor. I showed Antman outside the liquor store, he thinks i know something, he loved the lights.. all the people waiting in line for the Sushi place next door dint like the smoke when i rode by, oh well... Friday night rocks so far...2 points

I was going to go to Azambuja tomorrow, by car, but I just saw on tv that Oliveira got Pole Position for tomorrow's MotoGP race in Portugal. I might just stay here to see it, I'm tight with money so there is no MotoGP on my home1 point

There are plenty of 250s and 400s I like, it's not a matter of engine size or power. This specific GS310 just feels low quality and uninspiring in person, it feels like a chinese bike in person.1 point

Some days I don't really feel like being a part of the world, or that indeed it doesn't deserve to exist, however most people that feel this way don't wish others to go through the same feelings. It's a tough way to exist. Covid being blown out of proportion or not, I think depends on where you live or spend most of your time. If he lives somewhere quiet that has yet to be seriously affected, or doesn't speak to people who are affected, I can see why he thinks it's blown out of proportion.1 point
