There is a long history of street races in Portugal and Spain, but usually small capacity two strokes racing on village streets, not actually roads. This is the most known portuguese street race, it's packed with spectators on sidewalks, in the summer heat, 85cc of fury racing on bumpy cobblestone streets. Not really a TT, I know, but it's colourful4 points

So, weather today was pretty cool, I rode from home to Ericeira to meet Sofia for an officially non christmas christmas dinner tonight, and took the chance to test a different position on the GoPro. Weather varied from a 6ºC minimum on the hills to a 12ºC on most of the trip, pretty sunny so I was very comfortable on my woolen socks and new boots First stop was by the Tejo river for a coffee on my favourite spot near home Rode up and over my favourite hill, all my ideal lunch spots were closed. They would normally only be open for lunch on weekends, but being the 24th December I thought I'd catch a break, I didn't. Stopped by a local wine producer's shop and bought a couple, or three, nice bottles of wine, a white "Alvarinho", a red "Syrah", and a red reserve with a three cast mix of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Touring Nacional. If you're going to pack something where a top case would go, might as well be wine. On the previous picture you also see the GoPro on top of the side case, position is nice but the angle is a little off, not too happy with how it turned out. Also filmed with a low and forward angle, in front of the engine head with a view to the front wheel, but hated that view. Will post a video later. Brief stop at an old monastery which is part of the Torres Lines, for a cockpit view picture. A brief stop on a short dirt road through Lisbon's wine country, pretty awesome weather today, it'd be freezing had it been cloudy. Was pretty hungry by 14:00, stopped at a small town for something warm to eat. Lunch had already been finished at this small cafe, so I ate the last remaining slices of pork roast with a little gravy as a sandwich. It was pretty unassuming, but tasted great and as the meat was hot it was very comforting. No more pictures, this was about 30 minutes before making it to Ericeira, it was a pretty cool ride. Rode without any agressiveness or sporty handling, just a nice winter cruise on top of the bike. Video won't come out today, I think, am too disappointed with the pictures to feel like editing right now.3 points

I gave @Tym my vote. It was hard to decide. But Tym does add a certain flavour to the forum....and I secretly think his KLR is awesome and he makes me laugh. I was going to vote for Pedro, as I get to know him he seems really cool. He cares for small animals, understands the love of a fast car and enjoys a fine glass of wine. Bob also seems like a swell guy! ? Regardless of my vote, it looks like my new friend Cheeks, is running away with this, just look at that butt go.......sorry, can't help myself. ?3 points

I voted for Pedro as I like his food photos, although I’m not sure if I’d try all of it. His ride reports are always interesting as well. Thanks.3 points

Last night was quite cold, and this morning it didn't look promising, a lot of thick fog. Decided to go anyway, and have a coffee on the hills. Coffee shop had a few bikes parked in front, with lots of people around. Plenty of other bikes and bicycles on the road too, so I figured it would get crowded and avoided it. Rode to my secret spot to just look at the view. Didn't take many pictures, but am just finishing editing a video, which isn't turning out quite like I expected, but there you go. Bike got pretty dirty from the dirt roads, too. Ended up having a cup of barley coffee at home1 point

I had a free day today so I decided to take a ride down to the Stonehenge byways as English heritage is threatening to close them again. The weather was decent when I set off but the roads were still soaking from last night so I took it steady on some of the back roads. Once I got down to Tilshead I turned left to get onto the byway that runs around the back of Westdown Camp , everything was open on Salisbury Plain as there is no live firing for the next couple of weeks. I use this site to check the status before visiting....... https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/salisbury-plain-training-area-spta-firing-times You can see Westdown Camp in the background here................ the byways on the Plain are well marked, this is how it should be done I dropped off the byway by the Great Bustard Inn and rode down to Airman's Corner. From there I took the A303 to get to the Stonehenge byways and sure enough the whole stretch of the A303 had bollards all the way along and the gates were shut across the byways. No photos I'm afraid as it was impossible to stop. At this point there was a lot of muttering inside my helmet but I set off for the Woodhenge turning to see if I could get in that way....... That'll be a NO then ? I carried on down to Larkhill and got the same result........... On the post here there was a copy of the TRO (traffic regulation order) so I took a while to read it. It seems that the byways (and some roads) were shut for the winter solstice and to be fair I had seen quite a lot of 'travellers' vehicles parked up nearby. I think the authorities were worried that some might use the solstice as an excuse to park up on the byways and then stay there. But I shall definitely keeping an eye on the situation as I have a feeling that English heritage will use any excuse to get their way and close them permanently.1 point

I awoke to a dry day so dragged the CB out, a few hundred yards told me i wont be out for long, it was damn cold and the roads covered in salt so gave it a hose down when i got home and put the bike away. After being stuck in all week you'd think i'd have more enthusiasm to go out but i don't for some reason1 point

The fact that Bruce is still here, and still contributing, is a testament to the man's mentality. As far back as I can remember on maxbikes we've had members who didn't yet have bikes, or were between bikes for whatever reason and I've always thought that "biker" has more to do with mentality or "mind set" than anything else. He is also a scholar and a gentleman ( but don't tell him I said so) and has reached out numerous helping hands to a number of us, me included, both metaphorically and physically over the years. Top Man. ( if you quote me on any of this I will, of course, deny evrything)1 point

I'm officially signed off till the 25th but the sun came out yesterday and me knee is almost back to normal... did about 100k and a very little dirt before it started aching, it doesnt like the vibes from the trails standing on the pegs. I saw the doc this afternoon and he promises me that it will improve over time and shouldn't be a long term problem.1 point
