So, weather today was pretty cool, I rode from home to Ericeira to meet Sofia for an officially non christmas christmas dinner tonight, and took the chance to test a different position on the GoPro. Weather varied from a 6ºC minimum on the hills to a 12ºC on most of the trip, pretty sunny so I was very comfortable on my woolen socks and new boots First stop was by the Tejo river for a coffee on my favourite spot near home Rode up and over my favourite hill, all my ideal lunch spots were closed. They would normally only be open for lunch on weekends, but being the 24th December I thought I'd catch a break, I didn't. Stopped by a local wine producer's shop and bought a couple, or three, nice bottles of wine, a white "Alvarinho", a red "Syrah", and a red reserve with a three cast mix of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Touring Nacional. If you're going to pack something where a top case would go, might as well be wine. On the previous picture you also see the GoPro on top of the side case, position is nice but the angle is a little off, not too happy with how it turned out. Also filmed with a low and forward angle, in front of the engine head with a view to the front wheel, but hated that view. Will post a video later. Brief stop at an old monastery which is part of the Torres Lines, for a cockpit view picture. A brief stop on a short dirt road through Lisbon's wine country, pretty awesome weather today, it'd be freezing had it been cloudy. Was pretty hungry by 14:00, stopped at a small town for something warm to eat. Lunch had already been finished at this small cafe, so I ate the last remaining slices of pork roast with a little gravy as a sandwich. It was pretty unassuming, but tasted great and as the meat was hot it was very comforting. No more pictures, this was about 30 minutes before making it to Ericeira, it was a pretty cool ride. Rode without any agressiveness or sporty handling, just a nice winter cruise on top of the bike. Video won't come out today, I think, am too disappointed with the pictures to feel like editing right now.4 points

after 800km in the car and hours battling french administrative beurocracy yesterday ( thank God Madame moon is good at the admin crap cos otherwise there would have been multiple homicides...?) today is going to be spent annoying the kids, eating food prepared for far more people than we actually are, drinking a beer or two, and possibly some wine as well, and then sleeping. We don't get boxing day here so madame is back at work tomorrow. Hey, somebody's got to earn some money...?4 points

Guys and galls, It's Christmas day, today starts our final 2020 BOTM picture submission thread. This will end on the 31st, at which point the vote will start. As always, your bike, on a picture taken this month, out on a ride.2 points

No point in doing a weekend thread given the occasion.......so here's the place to put your updates on how Xmas is going for you! And it starts here! Got the Stealth Beemer out for the first time in nearly two weeks due to the shit weather. Only out for an hour though! Don't let the blue skies fool you.......cos it was cold!2 points

On Xmas Day when others sit around swigging booze and puking their guts up all over themselves.......that's the time for the Rugged Individualists in our midst to stand up and be counted. So in hypothermic temperatures of 9c, and with grey skies overhead......the Stealth Beemer burst into life! And 48bhp of raw Austrian power was unleashed onto an unsuspecting world! It then undertook a perilous journey consisting of crossing continents and navigating unwelcoming environments of remote, brutal terrain! And of course some abandoned shit was encountered to add that air of suspense. Cos you never know where any of those deranged psycho killers could be lurking! So without further ado, let there be Rugged Individualism........and there was Rugged Individualism!2 points

I know a Brit who's over there at the moment in his motorhome, he's stuck over there as he can't get a ferry back. He texted me, I think he was looking for some sympathy. He got fuck all sympathy from me, it's wankers like him that are spreading this shit about. You have my permission to slash his tyres if you spot him2 points

......after only being in existence for 8 months.....what have we achieved? Well.....the Man of the Year won the title because he doesn't have a bike! And the Twat of the Year won the title because he doesn't have a camera! What can we learn from this?1 point

The DR650 is a dream bike in many ways, the problem is I need to modify it out of the showroom in order to mount the thing...? I'm thinking, keep the Himi for my dirt pig and just pretend it's like my old cars, one day you ride, two weeks you fix and repeat. So now I am thinking of something for the tarmac, something smooth and stylish for coastal highway rides. This has my attention right now.....?. Maybe it's the fancy coffees kick'n in.....1 point

The Poll is closed and @Buckster becomes the first Adventure Motorcycles TWAT OF THE YEAR! My vote went to Bruce......but I think Buck's diminished camera capabilities gave him the edge over the others!1 point

It's a done deal...... @BusBoy is the first Adventure Motorcycles MAN OF THE YEAR!1 point

I gave @Tym my vote. It was hard to decide. But Tym does add a certain flavour to the forum....and I secretly think his KLR is awesome and he makes me laugh. I was going to vote for Pedro, as I get to know him he seems really cool. He cares for small animals, understands the love of a fast car and enjoys a fine glass of wine. Bob also seems like a swell guy! ? Regardless of my vote, it looks like my new friend Cheeks, is running away with this, just look at that butt go.......sorry, can't help myself. ?1 point

I awoke to a dry day so dragged the CB out, a few hundred yards told me i wont be out for long, it was damn cold and the roads covered in salt so gave it a hose down when i got home and put the bike away. After being stuck in all week you'd think i'd have more enthusiasm to go out but i don't for some reason1 point
