I drive a 4 WD Ford F150 pick up truck - it's high enough to clear most snow and can get through 24" snow easily enough. Much more than that and it "floats" on top of the snow as the snow packs up underneath it and lifts the wheels up. But it doesn't snow that much very often. 15" of snow is no problem at all. Snowmobiles / snow machines don't interest me too much. It'd be fun but not worth the money required.6 points

The day was cold but sunny. It seemed like a lovely day for a ride. ? I was even waving at small children. Then something felt very wrong. My rear area was not functioning within normal parameters. I stopped to find out why. Ohhhh look.... a lovely SCREW has enter my rear. ? There began the tire change....after 2 hours and "almost" getting the tire back on the rim, I gave in and went to walk to the nearest place for help. I was quickly picked up by someone and taken to a local Tire Shop. There they stopped their busy day to help me fix my flat. They quickly told me the tube had been pinched in my earlier efforts, but they would try to patch it for me. After about 1 hour I was on my way with a beat up but rideable wheel. Time to deploy the "lady in distress" signal again. Within minutes I had a ride back to the bike. The day was getting colder but I managed to get home to a warm fire before dark. Here are some photos from the friendly Coastal Tire that saved the day. ? They had some nice decorations! For some reason I pretended I was on an adventure in Brazil, just no coffee unfortunately....? But really, you don't need to go far for an adventure.5 points

I'm on holiday for the week. So far I have been to Tesco once and had two rides out on a push bike, it's a bit nippy for that though. Living the dream here. My local river has flooded the paths in my nearest park so I spent a lot of time pedalling through glutinous mud whilst trying to stay upright. Still at least I don't have to answer a zillion emails and I've managed to watch series 1 of The Expanse. A robin landed on a branch about 18 inches from me yesterday as I was walking to Tesco and sat there looking at me with something wriggly in its gob. I locked eyes with it and slowly got my phone out to take a picture. By the time I'd faffed about getting the camera on he hopped into a proper tree, but still quite close. Also just fitted the plastic covers to my new to me fog lights. I hadn't done it before because they only stay on with friction and I was worried they'd disappear and they are bloody expensive. I drilled a few holes and zip tied them on. Need to find some small black zip ties, only had white ones, but they'll do for a while.4 points

I was going to come in and respond to this thread's title, but after reading all this I feel bad for saying anything. Ok, over that.... ? My 2021 has been good! Sure I could whine about my shit ass bike breaking every 25km, I could complain about the condition of apples at the grocery store, I could bitch about not being able to do things freely while out and about, I could even be sad about not being able to travel far from home. ? But really, it's all good. I have work, I have a nice place to live, I have some new friends and a bike that works sometimes. So far so good!3 points

I live a good distance to the dealership and they are not the easiest to deal with to start. I just always seem to take care of myself. Some things would have been covered but it just seems easier to fix things myself. Even though @Bruce would disagree, I don't like complaining. ?2 points

Geographically, it's difficult for me to take Michelle's bike back and make a complaint! @Tym is closer......I'm sure he'd be up to taking a trip north! To shoot them!2 points

It just sounds like you bought a royal Enfield the bike has a lot of soul you don't get that with a Honda that's why people call them soulless2 points

The bike came in not such good shape, the dealership let it go with a broken dash, broken tail light and a flat front tire. Since then it just goes on and on... - (new) dash fogs up all the time - the engine is leaking oil - broken braided stainless steel brake line - the emissions unit clogged and spit gas in my face - the rim tape disintegrated into my hands yesterday - the bike does not start right now, you have to run it through some gears before it knows it is in neutral - the broken yoke bolt of course - all the rubber around the wires is falling apart I'm sure there is something I am forgetting. But for a bike only a year old and not even 10,000kms on it, it is a test of my patience at times.2 points

tis indeed a railway bridge, built to transport replace the canal for transporting firewood to Paris. There are some sections of old railway that are accessible and I've done ride reports on most of them before ( waaaaaaaay back when) but most of them have been ploughed under and the buildings either converted and in use or simply dismantled. the main disused line locally has been turned into a " Voie Verte" or green way and is inaccessible to motorised transport.2 points

Only if you ride it on the road, it's still covered for fire and theft when parked up but you cannot ride it on the road until you have a new MOT and tax but you are covered to ride it to the MOT station after booking an appointment1 point

@Grasshopper's Ride It does sound like you got a bit of a lemon it doesn't help you don't have a dealer on your doorstep. you get it with all makes of bike though. My mate bought a new Africa Twin about 6 months after i bought mine he had an endless list of faults with it and half the mileage of mine, within a year he had corrosion on the engine, frame, ABS rings, wheels and various fasteners all over the bike, The switches both sides of the handlebars failed, water inside the dash and i'm sure there was a lot more but he got lucky a tractor with trailer reversed into it and wrote it off, mine has been great only had to change the left side handlebar switch under warranty if i'd owned his it might have put me off Honda's forever.1 point
