Well, the once a year super cold time with snow warnings has finally arrived to the Sunshine Coast. They say all hell will break loose in the next 48hrs. Things might not get much above freezing today and I know my rear tire bead is now damaged. The tire shop said they could not tell if I did it, or if it was like that before the flat. So even though I would still ride on it, with the cold I think I might just stay home today. That's ok, I need to finish up Part 3 of my Bearings Series video and I have the urge to make some cookies. Pic from our frosty walk this morning. ?5 points

......at other forums to see what sort of footfall they get now, given the dominance that Facebook has had over the last 10 years. In a lot of cases, the sites are now ghost towns. And some of these go back many years and used to be very busy! When a major commercial outfit like CycleWorld closes their forum, it's a pretty strong indicator that the days of these sorts of platform have come and gone! What sort of fucking moron would open a forum now given the fact that all the potential clientele are headed in the other direction?3 points

Colder than a well digger's ass here this weekend. I think I'll sit home and hibernate (again) all weekend.3 points

Unfortunately you missed "The Clueless Zone" by 15 years Clive! Now that was a mental institution! @Tym was in charge and every member was called Julian Solos.......except for DA! And he'd spend all day arguing with multiple Julians!3 points

I'm hoping that people are going to rethink their browsing habits given the fact that it's been proven that FB is up to no good.3 points

Managed to get out for a ride in the end, the sun came out and melted the frost. ? I used my GoPro software to create this short, not really up to my standards, but fun to share.2 points

Forums can start to veer in another direction.......I know that all too well. A concern of mine at the start was that this place would be looked at as a drop-in replacement for MB. And I made it clear then that this was not the case. Different animal altogether! The direction I wanted was to continue on the path of the original DSUK as it was in 2004.....which was when most of the guys came onboard. So they must have saw some value in it. And we've stayed true to that path ever since.......after all, this is The Last Chance Saloon for all of us! We gotta get this one right!2 points

Different stuff Dave, we used to use the Holts stuff years ago, you spray that in after you get a puncture. The slime is a preventative (supposedly) cure that you put in before you ride and just leave it in there, if you then get a puncture it seals the hole.2 points

I was quite surprised when i dealt with Maria's funeral, I wasn't worried about the cash or even thought about it. When I went to pay for it, the funeral guy did get my payment but ordered a refund on my behalf and I got most of it back within a month without any effort. It works quite well.2 points

If we can convince @Clive buy something else, maybe some ham, or butter, or whatever he likes in his sandwiches, it´ll be a ride report to remember. I, for one, will not ride. I am seriously jonesing right now, though, I go to the garage and just pet my bike ? It's horrible weather, it's been raining sideways for the last couple of days, with alternated hailstorms or just immense wind, the kind that bends street signs and moves dumpsters around. Just went for a very short 5 minute walk with Costa for his morning poo, and we both came running back inside dripping wet. Covid here is getting worse everyday, we're the developed world's most infected country per population right now, so restrictions won't ease for the next few days, instead they'll get worse.2 points

Wise words Tym! @Clive is going for a loaf of bread apparently......I know it's not exactly Ewan and Charley levels of adventure, but we gotta take what we can get! This is the situation here...... ......but that can change! So at the moment there's a chance of me getting out, but I ain't banking on it!2 points

And it turns out that it'll be getting one next week! Cos my mate who fitted my handguards bought two.....and only used one! So I'm buying the unused one and he's going to put it on for me......because as I understand it, tools are involved. This is his G650GS......with the puck fitted! As you see, it doesn't look like it's falling over! So look out for a Puck-fitting report next week!1 point

The difference with this place to ALL the other forums.....not just the one we know......is there are no financial overheads! It costs them MONEY.....it costs me NOTHING! I have the servers to host it, with enough resources for at least 15 years given present growth........and I've owned the software since 2004. The only outgoings are software updates $50, and the domain name $10. So that's $60 a year! And I can write that off against tax anyway. That being said, it doesn't mean this site can run forever! It can only run as long as there are people who want to use it! So the future of this place rests with each and every one of you!1 point

DSUK / Maxbikes was the best for me, it's a shame that a few more of them from there aren't on here. There again we all know that things always move on.............1 point

Yes, it's an old wood framed building from ca. 1850 that they gutted and made into a bar / restaurant. Nice place but cold as fuck in there! Heating doesn't quite do the job so ya have to eat and drink with your coat on.1 point

I would have gone with the pizza too, out of the two. That's a pretty chunky salad. Like cooked in the way typical of Buffalo city? That's because this thread is called American food pics for Pedro, not Pedro eating lizards. I thought you'd be more surprised every time some posts a picture, not the other way around. However, to go along with the theme and considering they didn't turnout italian at all, I was in charge of the topping of these, a few days ago: They've got artichoke on them, and capers, just mess with you guys. Tasted great!1 point
