I've lost count of how many times I've been done for speeding mostly in cars and vans probably because there's no plate on the front of a bike. My introduction to the life of a criminal was when i was about 15 and got done on my DT175 so when i applied for my provisional licence it came with 7 points, which i then added another 4 a few months later because i gave my mate a go on my bike and he done a runner from the cops but an old twat in the village grassed us up I even have evidence, my father found these in the garden shed a few years ago that i had hid from him

Generally people don't know where I live.... ? Shit, people in Vancouver, the nearest big city to me (1hr away) don't know where I live. "only how lovely you live on the island" they will say WTF don't you understand..... COAST, not ISLAND......yes there are trees and lots of water around both but seriously.... So, you new to the forum squids probably don't know this, but Bike Of The Month is a major honor in the motorcycling world. Every month you are free to submit one picture of your own motorcycle (one per member only), on a ride taken this month, preferably in front of cool scenery and not behind the dumpsters next to a pound shop, and not amongst a bunch of other bikes in front of the wagon where you get your tea from. The ride, the scenery, etc, is as important if not more than the bike itself. On the end of the 31st I'll close this thread and use all pictures to start a vote in which we all will decide who starts 2021 on a win. You can post more than one picture. Latest one counts. Probably not many submissions this month, but there you go. We'll work with what we can. Let's not hijack the thread too much.

Last speeding ticket I got was a few years ago in my 1983 Mazda RX7, didn't know it was possible in the old guy, but with me driving we managed.

right i think forums are more friendlier places, you can ask a question and get a civilised answer i only go on bike sites and that appeals , someone was telling me a couple of years ago that he knows someone that goes face ache and the person was telling him that it is a site for slagging people off i think it probably has it's good points but if someone starts having a go at me i will just ignore it and not bother with a reply that's just the way i am

Face fuck is very much in my view an impersonal place though most who use it tend to be of the snowflake type and very sensitive to others' views whereby it apparently matters what is said and the replies given where as what I like about most forums is they are generally fairly separate tight knit groups of like minded people who enjoy just having some good craic and not taking things too seriously unless it's about a subject matter that collectively hits home with alot of said forums member base. This is why I too prefer forums to face fuck

Second SP50 was on the M4, VFR again. travelling back from the Isle of wight after a weekend away with the wife. Going past the junction before the Newport tunnels about 130mph and spots a patrol car in the corner of my eye on top of the bridge so i slows down to 70 and thought i got away with it but he catches me up around Cardiff gate done again 90 in a 70, what a dick i should have stuck to the 130 he would never had caught me before i turned off for home

I'll take being a casual. I've never really been a speeder, the fastest I've been on a bike is 130 (when know one was around) . Having said that I've hit over 85 on a trail with the whole bike skipping about, that's much more excting in my book

My paper licence is a bit ragged round the edges, had the same one since 97 when I last moved, so when I got my speeding points in 2017 I thought that when I sent it off for endorsement they would make me have a photocard type which I have been avoiding. But no, they sent it back, they don't write on them any more it goes online now of course, so my paper copy is clean at least. Same happened for the 2019 points as well. When I have to produce it at work or for hiring a bike or car abroad I make sure they don't manhandle it too much, I'm not paying for a new one every 10 years, not when it is valid till 2035.

So, welcome to the reality of Portugal. In the first covid wave Portugal was seen as an example of how to cope with a pandemic amongst European countries. We had our first infections almost at the same time as in Milan, but with very good results specially compared to Spain, the UK, Belgium, not to mention Italy. However, we are currently leading the world's most infections per population chart, at least we're leading something. On the tv, you get heads of medicine from our biggest hospitals complaining that the national health service insists on drugs that are proven not to work and disregard WHO's recommendations, and ignoring pleas for medicines that are proven to have some efectiveness. We have the government insisting on having all schools attending classes in person when it's proven that kids are a major factor in transmitting diseases between each other's parent because they failed to create the necessary means for online teaching. You have people walking imaginary dogs in city centers holding a leash. Politicians and everyone wearing ineffective cloth masks just pretending to follow some arbitrary rules like if you could tell the virus to follow said arbitrary rules. Portugal's biggest hospital created a new ward for covid, with 24 beds The shining example just proved everyone that it's success on the first go was merely a fluke

I don't do that, even on dirt on this bike I don't mind the ABS as with road tires I worry about loosing the front on dirt. I do switch the traction control off as that makes it not climb anything. On tarmac, I have probably been saved by ABS more than a couple of times. Had it on the 1150 and wouldn't want a touring bike without it since. One of those times is really clear still, because it was a wet road and a kid ran away from his mother into the street, not going fast as in town but I stopped in a way I wouldn't have been able to without ABS.

I never did anything serious, lost my license for a couple of months, though. First was 130 in a 90kmh, enough to be serious even though it was pretty much open road. Once in Spain, for 130kmh on a 90 as well, thank god as that was the lowest speed we did that day. Then I got stopped by a police that had been in pursuit for a few minutes without me realizing! I stopped at some stoplights and he caught up. Turns out I had passed two slow vehicles at once, on a crossroad with pedestrian passes He was a cool dude and allowed me to choose between the crossroad and the pedestrian pass, not both. The combination of this one and the first one lost me my license. Once for drunk driving, right at the lower 0,049 or 0,05 limit, that one really pissed me off. Evasion, once on the XR400 through the beach, which was why they wanted to catch me in the first place. And once in my car, did a full panic induced roundabout drift as I say the cops hand beginning to raise to stop me, and ran. That car wasn't exactly legal. This was my first ever ticket on a bike, glad it is a little one.

I peaked early, my first ticket was for Evasion, and the story made the second page of the Dayton Daily News.

I'd lost my license before I was 16. We'd get anything we could going and ride it, first name basis with all the local plod. Started pushing the bikes to a field down the road, then we'd ride them down the road, then the petrol station, shops you get the idea.
