Another weekend, another try at distancing. Headed out to Joshua Tree area where a friend has 20 acres of..., well gravel, sand and shrubs. He has brought in a container which contains some necessities. The highlight of the weekend was the music! Will upload the video and post a link. Lunch stop in the middle of the desert. You can probably guess the political leanings of the owners. First, for being open for outdoor eating ahead of the official relaxation of restrictions. A rare sight in Cali. Not the gas prices, but the snow on the mountains. More snow shots Camping at Owen's. Might not be too warm in 30 degree temps (F, not C) Funniest part of the day was the guy in the gas station/market. For some reason he thought the long line was for the cashier, when it was actually for the bathroom. He finally got up near the cash register and started yelling at the cashier for only having one person to wait on everyone. He felt kind of foolish when we all let him know he had wasted his time in the bathroom line when there was no one in the check out line! Weekend music entertainment! Music video, Joshua Tree-style:

Yup i done this a few times!...and before anyone mentions it,..one time it didnt end to well!!....However,...id ride down personally,..ferries to spain make it easy, the ride from santander to the south is easy and scenic. There are now not that many tolls which are avoidable anyway. The roads are generally fine,..though watch some local spanish drivers!..roads can be slippy as fuck,...Stop signs mean nothing to spaniards! Apart from that,..enjoy it,..good scenic routes,..food is generally shite,.but thats me!...off the beaten track you will no translated menus,..so unless you speak spanish its a shot in the dark,..DONT argue you spanish cops (they get right shitty)....and if it does go wrong,..spanish hospitals are good!!

It's not too bad for you with your location....you're not far away from Ferries. But for Rich having to ride down from Sunderland......what a nightmare. And the roads are very different here to the UK.....lot less traffic, but narrower and with continually changing surfaces. Plus you do come across unusual obstacles in your path sometimes.

i would do it on my bike , not one for endless hours of riding non stop i'd want to do it over a few days , couple of over night stops , but like you say not ideal bike for your sort of roads... flying and hiring sounds better
