Yes I know, it’s bitch ass cold out there but I want some new summer gloves and this is a good time to buy with a discount. I almost bought some lightweight Alpinestars as I ran a pair for a few years before they disintegrated but I have heard bad things about the construction on the newer stuff. Criteria includes decent ventilation, very short cuff, preferably leather palm, hard wearing and reasonable protection. Not bothered about touch screen fingers and whatnot. Must be available in 2xl or 3xl as I have man sized hands. I want something that will last as there is nothing more annoying than getting a pair of gloves broken in and then having the fall apart after a season. So what are you turds using or have had good results from, price is not a governing factor although I don’t want to go crazy.4 points

Still restricted to within the town perimeters......and I'm running short of roads now. But checking back on my Beemer pics it seems I'd never taken it to Las Santas......so off I went. 18c and blue skies so great conditions for February.....and the run enabled me to clock up 80 kms/50 miles over this weekend! This is Iron Butt shit right here!3 points

A little while ago I posted an old photo of me with my 1984 Honda CB650. I just found the group shot from that photo shoot. My one friend, the photographer, was doing a piece for a local magazine, so we got some friends together and did a photo shoot. Half of us are Canadian, the other bunch were friends from Europe. We all thought we looked pretty cool.... lol. So much leather! ? I'm in the bottom right hand corner with my CB650. ?3 points

I think the last ride report I did was when I rode coast to coast on the Harley. I’m not really big on ride reports, I have a life.3 points

Was drinking this Ninkazi and this lat night. Ninkasi is a Lyon brewery and I like most of their beer, The Japanese Kyoto was an experiment cos Madame likes fruity beers and this has a fruity lemony tang cos of the Yuzu content. It wasn't bad, drinkable but more a summer beer. Desperados lined up for lunch along with Jambon a L'os a la chablisienne with fried 'taters. We've just raided the local patisseries for a sticky bun dessert so I imagine the plan for this afternoon is reclining on the sofa like a beached whale, burping gently to assist digestion... ?3 points

As I've posted before i had the carbs off the Big one a month or so ago to sort out the shit that got into the carbs and after putting it back together it was running sweet again, but after leaving it stand when i fired it up next it started pissing petrol all over my garage floor so yesterday i started the arduous job of stripping the carbs out again and found this red shit in the fuel lines You can see it in the hole where the fuel enters the carb in this photo This however had nothing to do with my leak it just happened to be in the holes where i needed to fit the new O rings on the T piece that the fuel pipe attached to so in one way it was a good job it leaked. After putting everything back together i had developed a new problem, when i revved the bike the revs wouldn't drop back down unless i held the throttle shut. This baffled me for a while and then i noticed that two of the carbs were not shutting all the way when i released the throttle. The carbs are in pairs with a link to join the two pairs together. When i split them down to replace the O rings i accidently trapped a spring in the linkage when putting them back together and that was holding the two carbs slightly open. I hooked the spring out and then spent the best past of an hour trying to find it, bloody thing had landed between the swing arm and the engine anyhow here it is And this is where it should to be So dreading taking the cards back off i thought i would have a go at getting it back in with them in place and i got it in after a few minutes faffing about what a bloody relief i really didn't want to remove the carbs again Because i had to back off a screw to get the spring back in it meant i had to try and balance the carbs and with only a two cylinder carb tune it wasn't going to be straight forward. The idea is the carbs are in pairs so i balance the pairs on cylinders 1 and 2 and then 3 and 4 first. Then i have to balance cylinders 1and 4 which will then balance all 4 carbs if that makes any sense 1 and two were a bit out but 3 and 4 were almost spot on 1 and 4 were way out which was what i was expecting as that was the adjustment screw i had to back right off to get the spring back in and when i dialed them in i had to drop the revs over a 1000rpm to get the tick over back so i think they were out before i started messing about. seems to be pretty good now but going to borrow a 4 cylinder carb tune to check it before i put it all back together to finish the job off properly2 points

So, right now @Earache is at -27ºC, and I´m at 20ºC. That's a whopping 47º difference. Created the thread to see what the difference is going to be like in the summertime. I think it's going to be greater.2 points

If you don't see any difference just empty your browser cache and check again. There's 3 bikes facing forward left and 3 facing forward right. Obviously there's not unlimited space there.....they have to fit between the title on the left and the user options on the right......so 6 was the optimal number with @boboneleg in the middle. Let me know what you think?2 points

I lost it back in my spy days, when I was kidnapped and tortured by the Russian mafia for a secret formula I had....they cut off my finger tips one by one, the little one never grew back. Just for the record, I didn't give up the secret formula!2 points

You're leaving yourself wide open there for some sick deviant like @Bruce or @Sir Fallsalot to start again. Fred's already confessing in my Ride Report how he likes to get on top of a knob. It doesn't help our Google rankings you know!2 points

This particular header isn't the endpoint though Michelle. It's a sort of stepping stone really. Now people can get an idea of the type of shots we need I'm sure we can get better ones going forward.2 points

The riding shot wasn't planned.....I originally thought just the bikes. But Bob submitted that and it looked quite impressive......so it was handy to use it to break up the two groups of bikes.2 points

If I had Charlotte at the time, you know she would have made it in. Maybe even into the middle spot, but Bob does look good. ? If I knew we could include riding action shots then I would have. Next time....2 points

Looks like a super nice day, and some great riding roads. I so want for a warm day...... You were really close to some real dirt and water in some of those pics. Such an adventurous guy you are these days Pete.2 points

It's down to quality of the image Fred! I'd like to see your bike in the header because we have a duplication of models with the Enfields at the moment. But unfortunately your photographic skills are only slightly better than Buck's.2 points
