Went to lube the chain and found it needed adjustment. I haven't had to do it before on this bike (I've done 2400kms/1500 miles)......so I crossed my fingers that the right spanners were still in the toolkit. Yes.....this means me using tools! But first I had to take the seat off to access the tools.....however, you can't access the seat release under the locked back panel without removing the box first. So I consulted my Shad Box removal vid on YouTube once again cos I couldn't remember how to do it. Once I'd got to grips with that I was able to get the seat off! Luckily the spanners were in the toolkit......and after a lot of effort I loosened the axle nut. They also supply a sort of Allen Key tool to do the adjustment, and a half turn each side did the trick. Yes.....I did check it at the tightest spots......chain adjustment is one of the very few things I can manage. Just! Then it was tighten it all up again and give it a good lubing. Unfortunately I found that the spanner had got jammed into the plug socket tool cos I used it for leverage. So I soaked it with WD40 and after a bit of twisting out it came. Then it was time to put everything back together......and the chain now looks like this! Ready to go again! Now recovering from the ordeal of using tools!5 points

The far west of the Yonne department., and the last of the cardinal points. Lovely spring day so after lunch, I took the thermal liners out of jacket and trousers, togged up and headed west to the D14 between Rogny Les Sept Ecluses and Fleury at 47:43'24"N, 02:50'56"E Still no leaves on the trees yet, but the hawthorn is flowering in the hedgerows and some of the smaller flowers are starting to appear nice little country cottage Due to the nice weather there were more people about than normal and Rogny Les Sept Ecluses being a popular historical landmark there were plenty cyclists, walkers, dog walkers, horse riders and even Bikers ( there was even some froggy twat on a harley complete with cut off full of badges, some fictional mc logo and rockers on the back along with a confederate flag... I know some people in the UK who would not have hesitated to tear a strip off a knob like that... I decided I couldn't deal with people and decided to just ride on and out to the very western edge of the departement 5 kilometres further on here I wouldn't want to have to ride this road after dark at the moment, the curned up earth along the verge by the bike is wild boar damage and it looks like there was half a herd of them somebody told me that wild boars eyes dont reflect light like a deer's do and they being black, you don't see them 'till you hit them and they weigh like 80 to 110kilos so you'd know if you hit one! I managed to grab a pic of the seven lock flight ( les sept écluses) at Rogny on the way back but as I didn't have my camera ( todays shots on I-phone only) it came out shitcos I was trying to avoid people so had to zoom in and had the sun in my eyes. I wanted a pic just so's I could make a cap joke about "Lockdown" but the pic is too crappy to support further ridicule. 150km all round and ended up at the jet wash for a hose down.2 points

Can't find @Pedro to get this started.....so I'll have to get it going! You know the rules.....it must be your bike and it must have been taken this month! Boats, planes, trains, wheelchairs, invalid carriages, skateboards, bicycles, unicycles etc are not valid.....it must be a motorised two wheeler! So let's have your entries!2 points

Years ago my mother in law at the time was reading the book “The Exorcist”, she said it was the most evil thing she had ever read and she couldn’t finish it, that day she took the book and threw it in the local canal. I went and bought another copy of the book and soaked it in the bathroom sink then left it on her nightstand. My father in law later recounted that that was the first time he had ever seen his wife soil herself.2 points

I have had this happen to one of our boats, numerous times... I just run up the canal and ask the upstream lock keeper to open a sluice... simples innit. ?2 points

It was 20C today and blue skies, so I took the Beemer on the trails around San Clemente reservoir for the first time! The Beemer was a lot easier to manoeuvre than the Strom obviously! Which I was particularly glad of at one point when I missed the turn round spot and ended up literally at the water's edge with no way forward! You can see the place in the vid where the trail leads straight into the reservoir......that's Death and Dismemberment for sure! Or even worse......getting your bike wet! So here we go....no Dark Motorcycling......and no ruins or devastation! Which was a bit of a let down......but I got through it!2 points

Hello techno wizards, a word in your shell likes if I may... Now you all know I'm a complete arse when it comes to all things pooterish and N0 1 daughter rang me thismorning throwing a wobbler cos her computer doesn't work and she needs a new one... Now I only bought her that one a year ago and nearly had to sell one of her siblings to pay for that so she ain't getting another one, which means I have to find the means to do something about the one she has. The place I bought it from will are willing to have a look and repair it but they obviously don't do that on site so have to send it away and it usually takes about 3 weeks, add in some covid complications and plan on a month... as they don't propose a loan to replace it during that time and N0 1 is a uni student working 95% from "home" via microsoft "teams" that brings us back to having to buy another one as a temporary replacement... I thought I'd ask you geeks, nerds, whatever you use as a collective noun, what you think the problem might be. i do understand that it's unlikely anyone is able to solution a bugging pootah without access to the bloody thing but you never know, it might be a known problem and fixable with a judicious tap from a sledgehammer in just the right place. ( one lives in hope) as I don't have the machine in front of me either ( it's in Dijon) I have tried to prise out of N0 1 exactly what happens. ( turns out that it's not actually totally fucked, and that she was maybe overreacting just a little bit (!) on the phone earlier. However. it's annoying , so: the machine is A Lenovo Idea Pad S340. 1year old, with an intel i-core 8th gen processor 500GO ( I presume that's the RAM?) and it says she's got 413GO free of the 475 available. it's running windows 10 with a microsoft office package supplied by the university. What happens is; on a fairly regular basis, on start up it doesnt connect to the internet and when she opens the "properties" it says "no intel card detected" ( I'm translating thid from the french by the way) and she has to restart it which usually works and the restart is normal. That's got to be a problem with the computor itself right? 2nd bug: if she closes the screen, rather than physically shutting down, it regularly freezes and refuses to re awaken when she re opens the screen, it thinks about it, she gets a "not responding message, then a blue screen and it goes into auto restart and restarts normally. ( I told here that I think this is just part of living with laptops, deal with it) 3rd bug: for the uni lessons and lectures they use microsoft "teams". it regularly freezes the keyboard and has to be closed and restarted which is lesson time lost and complicated to catch up with. ( I assume this is a problem with the app rather than the machine itself and told her to uninstall and reinstall the app) Q. Is it possible to uninstall a single app when it's supplied as part of a package? uninstalling and re installing the whole package is a multi hour job over her crappy internet connection. Any help, ideas, pointers, thoughts ( constructive) most welcome. but please dont tell eme to use apple, change OS, don't use microsoft.. etc etc cos all that is fine if you have the means, financial or intellectual... of which I have neither. @Bruce @XTreme @Buckster... anybody else who knows what their doing with this stuff ? ( I know you wont agree on any of it anyway so the more the merier... ta muchly1 point

The one and only. A very experienced rider, but new to dirt. So, we did our best to vet him. If he comes back after being left in the dirt, then we know he is a keeper. Truth be told, Allen had been doing phenomenal all day, including 30 miles of El Compadre Trail, and all but 6 miles of the road into Mike's. He finally succumbed to sphincteritis sandus maximus. That is the tendency to soil oneself and let off the throttle at the sight of the smallish dirt particles known as sand.1 point

Oh you’ll get one a minutely detailed yawn fest as every tiny forgotten detail seems new and exciting. I saw a car, it was yellow... and then another one, but that one was blue, I think the blue one was nicer than the yellow one. The yellow one was driven poorly. I’ve done a compare and contrast. See chart of vehicles I saw below. Then there was this stuff wizzing past me, I think it’s called fresh air, I’m not sure it’s been so long since I’ve seen the outside world it might just be wind. I’ll Google it later and let you know what I found. Then there was this yellowy ball in the sky, not sure on that either, might be one of Tyms, would be tricky to retrieve though. You won’t be sorry you asked, its bound to be a blinder ?1 point

Day 3 - cont: Originally, the list of riders for this trips was somewhere around 8 or so. It exploded to 15, by the time we left. Because of that, all the hotel reservations i made had to be revised, or alternates found. In this particular case, Day 3 we were to spend at Alfonsina's, in Gonzaga Bay. Why? Because you wake up to this: or, this but, you have to stay here: Tough life, eh? Well, we had room for 8, so now to find room for the 7 tag alongs. That involved finding an AIRBNB in nearby (90 mins away) San Felipe. You know, the town mentioned above with the teenagers on their fones during lunch, and the dancing harley riders. Turns out, a BNB in San Felipe is an awesome choice, too!! We got this place: for $120/night. Sleeps 12! The views arent quite the same, but they aint half bad, either. We did have to suffer thru our own cooking tho. Alfonsina's serves meals like shrimp, stake, tacos, etc. Our BNB served PopTarts. (but, it cost us $30/nite each, versus $95!) End day 3. Next, we get to start getting really dirty. And, we get to meet the most famous Baja 1000 hero.....1 point

My buddy from Connecticut, the one whose bike didnt get to Las Vegas in time so he rode Flames, was a little rough on the ol girl: Government job - 3 watching, one working On his way out the second time (first was to get Allen's bike to pavement), he missed a curve and tore off the side case. The mount was also messed up so roadside surgery was in order. Flames has about 130,000 miles on her now, has been upside down (completely) twice. Once on the way to Mike's from the south, another falling off a bridge during a competition, but she has never been treated so badly as this last trip ?. But, given that I ride with the best peeps, there is good news ahead about the ol girl! Next stop - San Felipe for lunch Given the late start due to the rescue efforts, we skipped the next offroad section that was to run thru a dry lake bed, coming out in San Felipe. Might have been a good thing, as we heard horror stories of silt. Probably worse than sand as it is slippery and you get to breathe it in the whole time. We slabbed it to San Felipe and had lunch by the beach: As you can see - AGALOS is like a bunch of teenagers, with their noses stuck in their smartphones! I chose to sit on the side with a beach view because - honeys!! (sorry, no pics) We ran into a group of hardcore bikers from Tijuana at a gas station north of San Felipe. They were headed home after a weekend in town, commandeering a hotel for their savage activities. Don't they look savage? Right, they werent. They were fun loving and we shared riding stories with a couple of the guys, while the ladies danced in the parking lot. We did see a BMW in the bunch, which they said they made ride in the back. I asked if that was to clean up the oil leaks and they said "no, to pickup the dropped parts" ? The guy on the Victory was a Prospect. The leader told me that he rode so much that he hadnt been able to put in his time as a newbie to become a full member.1 point
