I'm offended that I had to waste my time reading this drivel to find out it isn't offensive and I'm not offended?5 points

So it was my chance to get out today for my first trail ride since early November. Socially distanced of course, only three of us and all firmly in the 'old fart ' category Tim hasn't been on a trail ride for over 10 years , so he turns up on a 2 year old KTM 350 and then in conversation throws in that he was the winner in the over 60's enduro category last year , so we now have a ringer ? Anyway, we set off doing the lanes on and around the A37 in Somerset, most were quite dry for this time of the year.......... We passed the time of day with several horse riders that were out, one young lady exclaimed 'there's a lot of you out today' , I suppose some of the horse riders have still been out during lockdown and I don't blame them as they are only riding locally and now they're surprised to see bikes out on the lanes again. Some 'nature' here for Michelle, if you look closely you can see primroses growing on the bank of this sunken lane............... I do like a ford crossing and my mate Tone takes a damned fine photo............. Time for a break after the ford, out with the sandwiches, flasks of coffee and a good old chinwag.............. So on one of the last lanes of the day we come to a ford (of sorts) and have a look at it from the safety of the bridge. Now in the past we've ridden through it with no problem whatsoever , it was hard to gauge the depth as the water was murky but I decided to go for it. The water turned out to be no problem at all but the surface underneath was pure silt. I stalled and when i put my leg down it sunk into about a foot of water and then a foot of silt. Thank god , big Tone waded in and steadied the bike while I got off and then it took all three of us to pull it back out. As we rode the rest of the lane I could harly ride as the weight of the water in my boot was pulling my leg off so I had to make a stop to sort things out Anyway , no fish or any other aquatic life were harmed while I made my feck up. I returned home to my garage and spent the next hour on 'leg maintenance'4 points

Always makes me think of the Transatlantic Series back in the 70's......I usually did Mallory on the Sunday and Oulton on the Monday. Somewhere en-route between the two circuits we'd usually end up pissed and sleeping in a ditch! Then stagger round the track the following day! No such avenues of pleasure are open to me these days! Now I'm old, exiled in a foreign country, there's a killer on the loose, and it looks like it's going to fucking rain! I'm Livin' The Dream! Fuckmine! So what's your plans this weekend?2 points

I started the weekend with a Friday ride on Charlotte. Not as warm as I thought it was and a bit windy, but still, I love riding my Honda so very much. ? Stopped at the water to enjoy the beautiful view as the sky was looking cool. I was hoping to see some seals, as there was a bunch hanging around yesterday, but no luck.2 points

It's getting out of our county that's the problem - side roads are still snow packed after getting about 10" on Monday. BUT - it's warm today and expected to be decent the next couple of days, so we might be able to get out on bikes. But we still can't really plan on anything. So if we can get out, we might do a 2-3 day ride or something. But it'll be very last minute.2 points

We stay clear of the wet stuff until Sunday so I’m off out tomorrow with a couple of old boys. One is on an ancient Kawasaki custom bike and the other is running in his spanking new Triumph Trident........so my Himalayan may just be the fastest of the three? ??1 point

No Daytona on the list. The highest quality most reliably waterproof boot available. I’ve walked through water in them more than once, not a drop of water got through. Yes I could have walked over water but my Jesus mode was playing up.1 point

Day 4 continued: (sorry for the delay, but the sand section from this day was pretty entertaining, afterwards, and i've been trying to collect pics from the others who attempted it. in the meantime .....) So, while the saner riders of the group were busy finding that nights accommodations, the true AGALOS guys were taking a "shortcut" to the highway into Bahia de Los Angeles, located on the east coast of Baja. Small fishing village, as well as a ferry terminus. Being a shortcut, they showed up in stages, with the last to arrive only an hour or two later than the pavement peeps. some iPhone videos: First to arrive were the Louisiana boys on the small bikes. I'm guessing they only have swamps in Louisiana, and not much sand! Second up were Fernando and Chris. They had made it a few miles deeper into the shortcut before bailing back to the main road. Fernando was sporting a bandaid under his eye, and had decorated his jacket with red stuff that appeared to look just like blood. All due to getting up close and personal to a cactus! I guess you could call this truly a face plant? He was escorted out of the mess by Chris. The last 4 to show looked a little wiped out, but were still laughing. They had busted all the way thru the sand, but it wasnt easy. Especially for Gary: (Facebook banned this pic for being too graphic! ? They must have thought that was Gary's brain between his gloves. It was a cow pattie, much smarter than Gary) Our favorite prick .........and his cactus: Sand shit show!! Gary's little helper1 point
