So today marked the day the Portuguese plate was fitted to the bike! By me, with the assistance of @Pedro that from a distance, via the phone, knew exactly where the 3 screws were and guided me along the task. How does he know these things is a mystery to me!! And because I did the job, no its is not straight!! No problem for me, I am very crooked myself, so we match! I have mixed feelings about this. It is not with easy for me the transition to Portugal and its paradoxes of social injustice, I am always in fear of what can happen here and for which I have no protection, like not being able to have full comprehensive insurance. Also my speeding habits will have to be kept under control a lot more!! Its also another tie cut with my previous life . I am happy to move on, very happy actually, I kept the best things from that time, the best people and the lessons, so a new road is being traveled and it has been, so far, a lot better then I could have ever imagined!! The new plate, philosophically, in its essence means : Accept and Let Go!! Goodbye Germany, hello Portugal!! It will start its life with a round trip of Portugal, and fingers crossed will not hit anything in sight, specially not @Pedro white elephant!!!4 points

Today I drove to Galicia for a business meeting, and thought of taking a couple of pictures of a part of Spain completely different than what appears on reports from our members living in Southern drier Spain: Spain in the distance Driving from Orense to Lugo and back: On top of the road you see on the previous picture, from where I took the picture, I found a memorial saying "in memory of deceased bikers", the previous part is harder to translate as it means "a breath to the sky", or something like a blast to the sky, or to the heavens. There, a drive report1 point

Yesterday it was my turn to cook some traditional Portuguese food in the shape of peas in tomato sauce with eggs poached in with the peas. They were being taken out of their skins while I was buying them, couldn't get more organic of I tried!! I also made dhal to go with the peas and everyone was vegetarian and happy about it! The peas were ok, but not as tasty as @Pedro version. He was very much missed again, for the peas and Nürburgring stories! The dahl was one of the best Ive ever made, super tasty and really dont know why!! What I do know is I didnt wash the lentils and there was plentyof fermentation in my tummy afterwards!! The pepers with garlic ( lots of garlic) and oil and vinager are one of the most delishes things Portugal has given the world and are simply addictive. Wish I could send all of you a little bit of this... Maybe one day we do a forum gathering!! Who knows...1 point

19c and blue skies.....but not allowed to go anywhere! So it was ride the roads I'm allowed to ride once again. I can't go nowhere! Obviously that's better than this time last year when I couldn't leave the house......but it's still frustrating to only be able to ride in one direction (north) all the time. Any other direction and it's turn round and come back after 3 or 4 miles. And we've now had 10 weeks of this so far this year! Still.....if I've got to be locked into a town, then this place is a damn sight better than the shithole I was born in.1 point

fucking idiots, you don't moor a boat on a slip. God lazy journalists boil my piss! I don't expect them to know what they're talking about, but when you don't know you go and fucking ask someone who does. wankers all of them. rant over.1 point

Had a great ride yesterday on Charlotte. Went back to an old bridge over a beautiful creek that we found on the Himalayans once. ? I captured some lovely video footage of the creek and will make a short video once I have time. Now that I am riding almost every day and outside more the video projects get less attention. ?1 point

I had intended to have a ride somewhere on Thursday but a friend thought he’d go on Saturday so a change of plan. Transpired that he didn’t want to go too far and do some nearby lanes, that I didn’t really fancy. Eventually got out late morning after making sure that I had deballasted sufficiently as most of the public khazis would be closed due to the lurgy. A very important issue these days. The only plan I had was west so thought I’d avoid the hordes on the Beacons and get there quickly, as it was a late start, along the M4 then turn off somewhere. I just saw a place name and headed towards it until somewhere else caught my eye. As seems to be the norm for me lately, didn’t stop other than for a few snaps when I was in the quieter hills. Fortunately the roads were fairly quiet earlier on because I suppose many were in front of the box watching some funeral. I usually hear my first cuckoo of the year at this spot, but nothing Just over 250 miles so happy that I can still do some miles. I think that the reluctance to take photos has something to do with the effort it seems to take me to get off and on the bike!1 point
