I was plastered in it.....boots, jeans, and jacket. Got home and called the wife to look and she said "What have you done my husband?" So I took my jeans off in the street and was down to my underpants as people were coming out of the church.6 points

Basically with the ABS on you wont stop on a slippery surface off road as the ABS system will take the control of the brakes off you. A locked wheel will eventually slow you down and stop due to friction. With ABS on, your wheels will keep on turning so on a slippery surface down hill you will start picking up speed rather than slowing down, ABS needs some sort of grip to work properly. Have you tried ABS down hill in snow its bloody scary you cant turn it off in my car i know from experience i would be better off without it in the snow. All of this is about slow speeds and trying to stop rather than stopping you locking things up at higher speeds in an emergency5 points

Not happy about it cos it caused this! How did it happen? A fucking swamp turned up from nowhere! So I had to quickly deploy my Namby Pamby motorcycling skills to avoid what was potentially imminent Death and Dismemberment! But I survived......and the bike has now been restored to it's usual condition!4 points

I had the same problem @boboneleg I saved the link in my favourites and it didn’t work and there was no working redirect but I discovered the emails in the junk folder so found the name that way Then my password which is saved in the keychain wasn’t recognised so I had to request a password reset (that also went into junk) and was about to conclude the universe thought I was better off out of it when it finally fell into place4 points

Gonna break the ninet out of hibernation today and take it for a spin. Not ridden it since last autumn so have got myself excited, the benefits of a shrunken lockdown world ay! A cursory glance over it last night makes me think the its going to look pretty bad in the sunlight cos its not been washed since... urr.. Depending on the temperature my hand may come out of its glove and take a pic4 points

Not exactly the stuff that dreams are made of.....but at my age I gotta take what I can get! I didn't expect to get caught out.....but shit happens. In this case it happened all over me and the bike. If you want to see my pitiful attempts to get through the shit then go HERE! But if you want to see me looking slightly less inept then read on!3 points

Decided to go to the vale of Glamorgan for a run this afternoon not far from me and just to check out some lanes i haven't ridden in years First lane i wanted to check out was just off a place called Bynsadler nice easy lane starts by crossing the M4 And then followed by a nice easy dirt track Next is in Bonvilston a grass track soft in places, easy enough today but can be quite slippery when wet This one is in the same area there's big money down this way you can tell when your driveway looks like this3 points

I'm going to attempt another bbq this evening. Friday's one ended with me stood in the garden with a rain jacket on cursing the weather! Probably gave our neighbours a good laugh and confirmed their view that les Anglais are all mad!3 points

Going along a trail.....and ran into about 50 yards of it. Took it through one step at a time cos it was pretty deep in parts.3 points

Some have the bbq in a covered area, but most we've seen are just in the corner of the garden or on the patio. And some have a complete kitchen in their garden!2 points

It's about 20C here at the moment, with a bit of cloud cover. But it doesn't look too threatening at the moment!2 points

Ah a bit of mud paddling, yes not the most fun way to ride! In all seriousness though I dont think Id be very happy on those tyres in mud. Glad mud was the only type of plastering that occurred!2 points

On the bright side if you went in to deep you could use the top box as a life boat, bet it could be rated for 5 Bruces at least.2 points

If I'm on a steep downhill section of trail (especially if it's a loose surface) I turn it off. You want the back wheel to slide to a certain extent and ABS will stop you controlling that.2 points

It's not really my type of music Dave......but that song pretty much crosses all the boundaries. It's just timeless! Mark Hollis was a genius and he just walked away from the music business. Sadly died two years ago!2 points
