Oh the English humour!! I learned that one the hard way!! Was cleaning my helmet ( ah, ah,ah!! ) and the work colleagues asked " What are you doing Sofia?" To which I replied "I am cleaning my helmet" "How do you clean it?" They asked. " I spit on it!" I said.... To general amusement!!5 points

Technically here all over 55's are supposed have the AstraZeneca jab, but if you book it at one of the bigger vaccination centres they tend to have the Pfizer one, so that the AstraZeneca ones are freed up for doctor surgeries and pharmacies who don't have the storage facilities for the Pfizer. I booked at a vaccination centre, so I got the Pfizer. My OH registered for any leftover shots and got a call today to go to a pharmacy about 30kms away for the J&J vaccination. So she's all done now.3 points

Couldn’t have put it better myself and the ABS on the Himalayan is pretty crude and I’ve had a couple of times where the bloody thing wouldn’t slow down enough on very loose terrain. The best option I’ve had was in the KTM 690 Enduro whereby the aftermarket switch could turn off the rear ABS but leave the front active.2 points

I wouldnt get too caught up in what vaccine you get, they all work well enough and the chances of side effects are statistically tiny with all of them. Theres a lot of hysteria about. I cant believe how many people are making a fuss. Nobody much gave a toss about vaccines before (save the loopy minority anti vaxers), bet they never asked a single question when they got their holiday jabs. No one ever does, certainly not what manufacturer it is. Bet if they vaccinated billions of people with MMR at the same time that jab would be slated too. The rules on when to lockdown to what level come from central government though dont they? Or has it always been down to the local authority to decide on acceptable infection rates?2 points

I think abs are criticle to riding, lower abdominal strength aides in off road endurance, enhances skill, so work on those abs people.2 points

Stopped to say hello to these fellers This one was giving me the eye Had a little more off this one Stopped to have a look at the church in St Nicholas nice to see a lot of the new graves there are of people who died in their 80's and 90's It looks a bit odd because i had to take a panoramic to fit it all in And this is the war memorial just across the green from the church And down to the ehh Downs where they use this to transmit the shit we have on TV And another nice easy lane Onto Wenvoe to look at the next couple of lanes i wanted to check out all nice and easy with no bloody gates Hard to believe this is just outside the big city Cardiff A bit rocky down here Into Llancarfan another beautiful village i chickened out at this ford it looked bloody deep And this one looked easy but it was like riding on ice concrete covered in slime Stopped for a drink and the local plod to check me out when a scene from quadrophenia past by mods everywhere i snapped these when they pulled in for fuel I would have chased after them and kicked them off but i was going this way Found this place in Boverton whata waste i tried to get in but it was a bit too public for me to jump over the fence Had to cut my ride short after the last lane ther was a big log i had to squeeze past and new my footrest would hit it so took my foot off but didn't expect it to catch my gear leaver After that i could only select first and neutral so started limping home but first was soooo slow pulled over to see if i could sort it. While lying on the floor somebody stopped on a Harley it was someone that recognised me from work and of all the people to stop it had to be him. He bought his Harley about a year ago and when he told me i said to him don't expect me to stop if i see you broken down on the side of the road which he had great pleasure in reminding me what a cunt I bent it enough with the little tools i had to get it selecting all the gears so got home ok2 points

It's pronounced "Gearies"......and any foreigner (particularly from Northern Europe) is classed as one. It's not Brit-specific.1 point

Having adjusted the chain ( which i'm shit at, find fastidious and hate doing) in order to eliminate a bit of throttle "snatch" that appears on the tiger if the chain isn't "just so", I decided it needed test riding. One of the phone nav apps I use is a compass that you can put a "target" on and it adds a second directional arrow to the compass showing straight line bearing and distance to target. As i'm still restricted to a 10km radius from home I switched that on and just stooged around with no fixed destination, just keeping an eye on the " distance to target" readout. Easy! left home around 15H30 and rode for around 2 hours. I've been here before but a loooong time ago so none of you will remember the pics I took at the time. During the occupation, auxerre prison, and later the psychiatric hospital opposite was used by the Nazis as an interrogation centre for resistants and political prisoners from the area ( communists mostly or anyone caught in possesion of a firearm). Once the prisoner had confessed to his, or her, crimes ( usually under torture) they were taken in small groups in the back of a lorry to a small isolated clearing down a dirt track in the nearby village of Egriselles. Here they were propped in front of 3 trees ( most couldn't stand) and shot. This is the place and the one tree still standing between the winter 1942 and summer 1944. 43 resistants were shot at this tree. There is no indication from the main road that this place even exists. riding out from there ( and in search of a lighter subject) I crossed back towards the North East and approached Auxerre from the hills to the east came up against this level crossing closed which was uncool cos the deviation would send me at least a couple of km outside my permitted zone. Nothing for it then ( cos I hate turning back) I'm going to have to see if this goes through anywhere interesting. judging by the tracks in the grass, at least 1 car had been through so I reckoned that where a car can go, i can go ( I seem to remember that this same thought got my in some trouble last time... remember the pic of the tralp on it's side up a gulley in the woods? i It did eventually come out back onto the road, but not before a dodgy right angle turn that nearly had me off due to trying to change down whilst standing on the pegs and ending up grabbing more throttle than intended... I cut through an industrial estate down to the river and rode alongbetween the river and the old GIPN barracks, which is now a small industrial estate, though they appear to have maintained the shooting range as Military property, I presume for the local Police National. i stopped for a pic of it ( you can just make out the sign " stand de Tir" on the building if you zoom in, and the " Military property" signs on the gate. I wasn't going to hang around for a better shot though as with recent events in Rambouillet ( Police personnel have been targeted by terrorist attacks in their family homes) they are more than a little jumpy about this sort of thing at the moment. I crossed the riverand rode through the town south, crossing the river again south of Auxerre at La Cour Barrée and cutting through to Vincelottes and up into the Vinyards I even managed to fit a mountain pass into the day all 206metres of altitude! and back through the vines to St Bris le vineux1 point

Yesterday it was my turn to cook some traditional Portuguese food in the shape of peas in tomato sauce with eggs poached in with the peas. They were being taken out of their skins while I was buying them, couldn't get more organic of I tried!! I also made dhal to go with the peas and everyone was vegetarian and happy about it! The peas were ok, but not as tasty as @Pedro version. He was very much missed again, for the peas and Nürburgring stories! The dahl was one of the best Ive ever made, super tasty and really dont know why!! What I do know is I didnt wash the lentils and there was plentyof fermentation in my tummy afterwards!! The pepers with garlic ( lots of garlic) and oil and vinager are one of the most delishes things Portugal has given the world and are simply addictive. Wish I could send all of you a little bit of this... Maybe one day we do a forum gathering!! Who knows...1 point
