Had a busy day today. Started with a small servicing for Bagheera. Oil change, new plug and air filter, chain maintenance, just stuff like that. Then I worked on my latest video before going for a super nice ride and hike. Rode to a place called Big Tree Park, with, you guessed it, really big old trees. We went for a short hike through the forest and enjoyed the awesome trees. I will do a video and ride report for next week. Then went home and did some landscaping on part of the property we are reclaiming from the nasty wild berry bushes. All in all a great day. Have a great weekend everyone.6 points

It was 29 Celsius in the shade here today so out on the open trails who knows how hot it was? Found a small water crossing just after this photo which was rather nice. to be honest, it was a shortcut to the bar.5 points

@Sir Fallsalot Oh by crikey I know what you mean. 17 years old, failed my first driving test (bit of a shock at the time cos Id never failed anything before), went home and my dad was having a day off, told him and he helped me get over it with cider and then whisky.... holy crappoly I wanted to die. My mum came home from work and was furious. I remember her saying “WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO HER????!” My dad replied “ITS HER FAULT SHE LED THINGS HERE” The next day I was so ill I passed out at the top of the stairs and surfed down on my face, my mum made my dad phone in sick so he could look after me. He wanted to go to the farm shop (for hangover cure food) but decided I was too ill to leave so he carried me to the car and with a bowl to vomit in and I went on the worse journey of my life I didnt know how ill I was until later in life when I discovered my dad had never ever rung in sick before and the only reason I wasnt taken to hospital was the preceding week both my brothers had been taken to A&E with the last visit one of them being admitted for a head injury which occurred when my dad was swinging us around and misjudged a swoop... smack .. my wee bro who had a knack of saying the wrong things at the wrong time said in A&E “why did daddy do this to me?” So we were on the health visitors radar and alcohol poisoning at the hands of dad would have been a finisher But I live in Somerset and if you dont drink cider you have to leave, tis the law... kinda so I drank the hairy nailed bullet and got over it. Whisky though took over twenty years and a mighty toothache5 points

I'm already a lot slower than I used to be. the problem is, it's not really his fault, our main mechanic has been off sick ( piss taking) for a year now and despite advertising we've had 0 candidates for the job. That, on top of the covid situation means that he doesn't really have much choice. However, I ran with it for the 4 months of last season ( and ended with a ruptured tendon in my ledt shoulder and a split meniscus in my left knee) but said quite clearly that I was NOT prepared to do another season like that one. He is also playing the mechanic and painting boats etc, but that is, at the end of the day not my problem, it's his company and I am an employee and I need to look after me at the moment he can look after himself.4 points

I quite doubt that. Discerning isn't what comes to mind to describe someone that searches for a full english breakfast while still drunk before going to the beach at over 30º. I am not in the Algarve, though, so quite far away from that nightmare scenario, but am indeed in fear of the COVID boom that comes from tourists on holiday.3 points

Well, I was going to write I am happily drinking myself to sleep when I read that @MooN is having real health and work problems ... so now I´m feeling guilty... hang in there Chris, just know that you are appreciated, at least here. I know you push yourself and appreciate your job but if you are unable to move you won't be of use to yourself or be able to enjoy being off work. Pace yourself! So, I have just finished drinking this very unassuming and simple white grown 20km away, bought today from a lady that owns a wine farm that has pet sheep, got to love that.3 points

had to start back to work again this week. Not a happy Bunny. due to circumstances I have taken a step back 30 years and am now doing a mechanics job. Problem is my boss seems to think that I can do this on top of all the stuff I am supposed to do as manager like sourcing and ordering parts, fuel, gas, running the stock, fixing the bikes, client paperwork, client handovers etc etc etc. I have told him, in writing, that I am not physically capable of doing the mechanics job ( which is why they changed my job description in 2016 after my back operation) and gave him a copy of that letter. So far he has simply carried on as if he never got the mail. Not gonna last cos I will rapidly break down ( physically). Needless to say i haven't been up to posting much this week.3 points

What i'm reading currently is this post which is as close as i'll get to reading a book. I have a bit of a problem reading books, after reading a page and then turning to the next i forget what happened on the previous page i just cant seem to get immersed in them. I did read a lot of comics when i was young but that's it3 points

First off, apart from @Slowlycatchymonkey I can't imagine any of the genetic mutants on here having the intellectual capacity to read a book. As for Steph, she's a seriously tough girl......good to see her doing so well now!3 points

I am currently reading, Home by Seven by Steph Jeavons Here is a quick summary: One woman's solo journey to ride all seven continents on two wheels. A Welsh girl, Steph Jeavons ran away to see the world. She wanted to see the sunset from every angle. She wanted to see an orangutan and a baobab tree. She wanted to become the first person to circumnavigate the globe and ride a motorcycle on all seven continents - and to sing karaoke on the way. ---------------------- It is really good so far and very refreshing to read. Refreshing in the way that she is rough around the edges and doesn't hide it. She speaks her mind and considering her lows in life, still managed an amazing adventure that no one else has done. A serious page turner.3 points

Stupid thing is my mortgage was ridiculously low compared to what people have now i'm probably only about £250 a month better off, but combined with a better monthly pay than I've ever had i can now see my bank account increase every month. Just got to get rid of the kids they cost more than the fucking mortgage then me and the wife, to quote someone from the past are minted2 points

15 years is how long I've been employed by the company i work for, i have lived in my house for 32 years have no intension of moving, I've tied up so much of my life here i just couldn't leave it, plus I've been mortgage free for about 7 years and am lucky enough to have no debt and that's how i want to keep it2 points

Apart from the house I was born in, this is the longest I've been in any house (15 years). We would like to be somewhere different after all this time, but the cost and logistics of another move at our age is too much to take on.2 points
