  6. For the first time this year I was able to cross into the province of Almeria! I'd done a bit of research and found a remote road (of sorts) near Cañadas de Cañepla which didn't really going anywhere other than around the area in a loop. And it appeared that it was littered with debris and devastation.....from individual buildings, to blocks of houses, to abandoned farm buildings. So here we go......this is Dark Motorcycling!

  7. Forgot we're out again tonight. A regular outing to watch between 3 and 6 music acts at "The Rooms", a local venue on thew sea front. Been to the last 3 or 4 and it's always a good night. Means I'll be drinking again.

  9. Need to get some of this kitchen sorted. Got to do a market chip run to but it's such a ball ache getting the bikes past the bloody rabbits no doubt we'll be in the car. It's drizzling anyway. Mums funeral was Thursday and I've still got a bit of a thick head and empty wallet. WSBs and F1 on the tele.

  11. Interesting point. Like our autos, our motorcycles are made for the type of traveling you can do, mostly in the western states. Wide open, huge distances (California is over 700 miles long. I have to travel 2300 miles to get to Tennessee to buy my moonshine). Roads are wide and flat for the most part. The spaces between the roads (in the west) are also wide open. Like the GS, this bike will be an SUV for most riders. For the merry band of #AGALOS, we will hurt ourselves riding them like dirt bikes. Sunday is my turn on the bike, at Lake Elsinore (of On any Sunday fame). I understand we get to play in the dirt, even if it is a level, gravel lot. Unguided road rides means i will get to test the bike in Sport mode, and enjoy all 150 horses! Y'all make it out to Cali and you will see why most Europeans we run into on the highway are on Harley's.

  32. It is a long weekend here in Canada, Thanks Queen Victoria! Anyways, going to take the Himalayans out early today before the city folk fill up our backcountry this weekend with their silliness. Going to ride a route that is always snowed in during the winter, so I'm excited, as I haven't been there since last summer. Then I think I have a date with my chainsaw later today! Have a great weekend everyone!

  39. My best guess is those chains will outlast the first few riders, transfer power better to the rear wheel then a shaft, consume less power and if you like you can change the rear ends ratio's with ease compared to a shaft or belt. Other than that chains suck cause you have to clean the back wheel more often.

  40. Can't imagine a belt would last long in gravel and sand, but could be wrong.
