'bout 20 minutes. 36€ i had the bike booked in for 14h00 but got there about half an hour early, Vincent, the shop manager turned up about 5 minutes after I did which was a surprise ( French lunch break is still traditionally 12 till 2) and he said he starts before the others to get a half h of calm and do some paperwork before oening the shop at 2 but he let me in so I could sit in the air conditioning and drink his coffee whilst waiting, Pascal the mechanic turned up at 13h45 and rather than open the main shop doors just pushed tigger in through the customer entrance and through the showroom and got straight into it. This sort of behaviour is sufficiently unlike normal French "service" to be worthy of note. Pascal invited me into the workshop to show me what he'd done and to ask how I wanted it finished off. He'd started by joining the wires that were flagged white and yellow with bits of tape, to see if that was effectively the solution, and it was, alarm out of circuit and everything else functioning, I've even still got the dashboard LED flashing as if there was an alarm. he then chopped the remaining wires and I ceremoniously removed the alarm unit, still weeping and clicking ( it has an internal battery) to the workshop bin. Pascal then soldered the connections he'd made, grouped and insulated the loose wires and secured the whole lot together. Good job jobbed! Thank you to all those who made useful and / or helpful comments, cos it was only really because of what I learnt that I was able to push them in the right direction and get the neccessary information out of datatool.3 points

Just seen a video of these Japanese girls doing a duet with Rob Halford from Judas Priest. Someone didn't think it through when they chose the song, shades of Life of Bwian. The song was Painkiller and you can distinctly hear the girl singing Painkirrer at the top of her voice!2 points

I have no clue, I know where the depot is and its actually closer to me than the hospital, it was a sunday morning so maybe they were "on call" rather than actually at the depot and had to come from home to the depot first but that seems a stoopid way of doing things ( it'd be typically french though, Sunday hours count doiuble here)2 points

I didn't protest about it at all. My point was always let people leave the town etc but shut the bars......cos that's where it was spreading. The wave that came after the Easter relaxation of restrictions proved that. So everybody had to suffer because of the fucking pissheads!1 point

I rode a Harley once and also one of those weird Buell things. I don't think anyone saw me though. Enjoyed the Buell when it was actually moving, not so much when waiting at a red light as the vibrations made my whole body shake side to side like I had a bad case of Parkinsons. That went away as soon as the clutch lever was fully out though.1 point

Surprises me how they are able to do that while crossing a police line. Are the cops there only to protect the buildings from being breached or damaged?1 point

As you know we changed the name of the site a month ago to appeal to a wider demographic. It was a calculated risk given that we were the third place site on searches for "Adventure Motorcycle Forum". The problem there was that because we'd put all our eggs in one basket in terms of Adventure, we were nowhere on searches for "Motorcycle Forum" which is the main search term. The risk we took with the name change was that we would end up nowhere on either search term for some considerable time. So essentially it would be back to square one! However after one month (due to numerous 301 redirects, new meta descriptions, page headers, and thousands of backlinks), Motorcycle Riders has now taken over Adventure Motorcycle's number three position on Google for Adventure searches. So we retained what we had! And totally unexpectedly we are now on Page 4 for searches under "Motorcycle Forum". We never had anything like that on the old domain even after a year! So it's a good result so far. Others seem to be noticing because I saw that another forum had taken our main meta description and slightly modified it for their own use. But then......I'm always prepared to help others out! What you say @Tym?1 point
