Heading up and over a dirt pass (Boreas) towards Breckenridge, CO ....

Onward and down the hill....

Laid out the front page differently to give a better overview to the place and more options to attract peoples' attention. And obviously I'm desperately trying to cover the fact that this place is heaving with Casuals! I know there's bound to be some whiney twat (usually @Sir Fallsalot) that doesn't like it......but shit happens! And look on the bright side.....it may be shit but it don't cost you anything!

Ahh. That's an ore chute. Gold ore was loaded into the top of it from up the mountain. When the wagon arrived, the chute door was opened and it filled the wagon with gold ore. The ore was taken to a stamping mill where the ore was crushed and refined to extract the gold. Narrow gauge train rail was laid to the top of the ore chute and ore carts (pics below) brought the ore to the top of the chute. They tipped the cart to pour ore into the chute. Once the chute was full, the horse drawn wagons picked it up.

Rain forecast but ok at the Mo. Got to go to the bank so there'll be market chips. Mandi wants to pick new colours for the kitchen back room and conservatory so that'll be fun.

Up early today and went out in search of some dirt roads to ride. Found some!

Today we are headed northwest from here towards Steamboats Springs, CO. Lots of off road riding on National Forest roads (fire roads) around Rabbit Ears Pass. Pics to follow.....

Are the rules different if you use a trailer?
