Yesterday i decided to have a back road ride and for a change have something to go to instead of following my nose. A picture of Paxtons Tower popped up on my news feed the other day, i liked the look of it and the area its in, so thought i'd have a ride there and back on the 650, it's just the other side of Ammanford. From Pontypridd i took the back roads to Blackmill, Neath and Pontardawe and then the mountain roads over to Ammanford bloody lovely up there. From Ammanford i went up to Llandybie and over to the tower. Had a mooch about the tower which had some great views with only a short walk to get to it. Crossed a nice little ford on route would like to see it after its been raining then i thought about the route home and would you believe it there were three lanes right by the tower it would be rude not to ride them LOL They were short and easy enough but overgrown in places which is to be expected this time of year Not the best photo of me LOL i rode another 3 lanes on route to the mountain road past Carreg Cennen Castle They were all nice and easy with no gates for a change Easy that was until i got to this lane I got as far as here and had to turn around, i found a guy doing this lane on a CRF250L when checking routes to add to the TET i'll see if i can dig it out Carreg Cennen Castle center left i took my camera for a change so i could use the zoom day was too murky for a good photo And another a bit closer, i was playing about with filters and this one made the detail stand out a bit better From here it over the black mountains and home on the main roads. It was an interesting ride but the bike started sounding a bit ticky on the way home hoping its just tappets so something else to look at7 points

As mentioned the first day of riding yesterday was pretty tame, I was trying out a camera set up and getting a feel for the bike as I haven't ridden it much this year and never at this altitude. After the ride I tried to figure out how to use video and audio software. Excuse the music but the camera just picked up wind noise. I can't upload this to YouTube or Facebook because of the music but here's a little video. The camera wasn't on when the local Ferrari club came by. Isn't that always how it works? http://teamyikes.com/Guzzi/Colorado1.mp4 That'd be @Earache leading the way.4 points

Are you saying it's not a looker? For about 18 months I was riding down to Plymouth every weekend to see my girlfriend who was at the college there. The place did photography, film making, sound stuff etc. My nickname there was Grandad (because she was Gran, being older than the usual students, as was I). They were a nice bunch and I went with them a few times to see a band called The Retreat who were very good. A New Zealand lad had done some filming with them, made a few music videos and I asked him for a copy. He handed me a VHS tape and I took it all the way home only to find out it was 3 hours of nothing but panning shots of sheep on what looked like Dartmoor. Of course when I saw him the following weekend I told him that he'd given me his wanking tape by mistake. I did get the proper video. Fuckmine, checked out youtube and they are still going, below is them now and the same song in the pub in the 90s underneath when there was 42 of them and they were young.2 points

The river was a quite a bit shallower when i rode through i would have turned around without hesitation if it was anything like what it was when he done it, I bet his heart sank when he saw it after all the effort before he probably got off that last drop off and thought ahh plain sailing from here and then seen that LOL but going through it was easier than going back up what he came down that's for sure1 point

A govt minister has said today- Britons considering a trip abroad this summer should be aware that “things may change” in terms of the rules for travel, a government minister has warned. Kit Malthouse was speaking amid speculation that popular destinations with rising Covid-19 infections like Italy, Spain and Greece could be added to the “amber plus” list requiring self-isolation on return to England - while restrictions on travel from France could be eased as fears about the Beta variant of coronavirus decline. For countries on the larger “amber list” - including most of Europe - vaccinated Britons are not required to go into quarantine on return, with the exception of France which is classed “amber plus”, meaning even those with two jabs must self-isolate for 10 days. Arrivals from “red list” countries - including India and Brazil - must spend 10 days in a quarantine hotel in England. Glad Ive not paid to add luggage to my flight in September @XTreme could u keep Spain off the red list, cheers.1 point

having nothing to say is not the same as having nothing of interest or value to say. This has however, never proved to be a problem for most of us1 point

You forgot to mention the memory card we found! Or the one I lost about 20 minutes before we found it again... I'm pretty sure I'm already looking for it in the rear shot of the bike. Yes, the shock is mounted on the side, not all that uncommon these days. And by that I mean Ducati does it too and they're the only other brand I know anything about, so it's common in my world. No idea if the Japanese do it on anything? I'd be surprised if they didn't. I'm not sure a handgun is all that useful around here? I'd be willing to bet most landowners have long guns and probably big scopes. You'd never hear the shot...1 point
