I have become lazy of late and have been leaving my DLSR (camera) at home and just taking my iPhone with me on hikes. Then this past year we have had a bunch of owls move into the hood. Great Horned Owls at that. I have tried to get a good shot with my phone, but it just isn't cutting it. The shots are blurry and just not what I was wanting. I needed to get the big camera out!!!!! But I also thought, a new lens has been in order, now might be the best time. So off I went on my Honda to seek out some fine Nikon glass! It was a cloudy day, so a bit cooler and with some lovely clouds over the water. I was in luck, the only local store that sells such things had just what I was looking for. Now to get out there and find my owl. I have become rather good at finding them in the forest, you have to be very quiet and know where to look, they like to sit in the middle branches and watch you walking by. I was very excited when I found one. They are getting comfortable with me so this one sat still nicely for my photo. I got a much better photo with my new lens, making for a very happy Grasshopper. It could be better, but the fun is in working on getting that perfect shot!5 points

wait until you have five not only can you not imagine giving one up but you cant decide which one to ride, There have been days where I've ended up doing something else because i couldn't make my mind up5 points

For the first time I own two bikes. Now that I have had them for awhile I can not imagine giving one up. Both bikes are so different and provide such a different experience that I would be sad without both. I love both dirt and tarmac!!! ......I guess really I could blame Bagheera, my Himalayan, if he didn't break down so often I might never have bought the Honda.....so it's all his fault I have two bikes.5 points

The wife was a bit pissed off.....because the first time she met my old girl, she remarked how much that the wife looked like this particular girlfriend. And my old girl being as tactless as she was blurted it out a few times over the years. So the wife had lived with this "she looks like girlfriend X" for 7 or 8 years. Then she finds out that girlfriend X is black! I remember her saying to me "How the hell can your mother say that I look like her if I'm white and she's black?"4 points

I do have sort of a stalker, a mean unbalanced person who was related to my girlfriend. A stalker, who indeed bothers you or makes you feel sad, ruins a big part of your ability to be relaxed since you lose control of when you interact with them.4 points

I had this problem with sports cars. I had 5 at one time..... One new, one classic, one convertible, one rally car and one that didn't run. It was a hard habit to break for sure.....I can imagine the same with bikes.3 points

I think I've mentioned this before.....but she's the one I didn't know that she was black. She turned up with her boyfriend in 1990 to fit loft insulation......the wife let her in (seeing her for the first time) and came out to me and said....."You never mentioned she was black?" I said "WTF you talking about? She's not black" The wife said....."Go upstairs and have a look then". So I went upstairs, took a look, came back down and said "Fucking hell.....she is black. Well she wasn't black when I knew her". The wife said....."How can you go out with a girl for 6 months and not know she's black?" I said......"Well in my defence, she wore a lot of make up, and I'd usually drunk a lot of beer". Wife said....."You had sex with her.....you must have noticed how dark she was?" I said...."No......it was pitch black behind the chip shop and the Guildhall Car Park".3 points

Money is always the issue for me where bikes are concerned. The most I’ve had in the garage at any one time was four; a Kawasaki Versys 1000, Suzuki GSX1400, Honda XR650L and a Scorpa 250 trials bike. The big GSX1400 went because the Versys did everything it could do and plenty more, the trials bike went next because I was going to seriously hurt myself and then the XR650L because we were moving to Spain and it was about as far from standard as you could imagine and I did t have the original bits to get it onto Spanish plates. I imported the Versys onto Spanish plates………and then fucking sold it on a whim. Now I’ve retired and money is definitely tight I’ve had to settle for the Himalayan and a 22 year old CBR600. The point is I’m no less happy with two ‘inferior’ bikes. …………but if I had to have just one bike……2 points

I can't afford more than one, and If I could I probably wouldn't. I have always preferred to concentrate on one thing at a time.2 points

After actually.... I have the 3rd gen. So first was in India and second in Australia, and then to North America. A lot of owners of this generation have had a lot of the same problems as I have. But Bagheera has been a bit more cursed with gremlins then any other Himi I know......2 points

Happens quite regulary to be honest. No freaking out, i told the State Trooper id just start open carrying my firearms as a show of force. She said sounds like a good idea she wishes more poeple would do so her job would be easier after we take a few of the pervs out...lol2 points

No, but it is close enough to run an extension cable to it, I am fitting a solar panel to maintain the bike battery and charge a battery for lighting.2 points

You already did, and pointed them at me also as a joke. I chose to consider it annoying and ignore you.2 points

What I think I did was tell out how brits are perceived from abroad, and in a couple of times point out when I thought an individual was complying with that cartoonish generalisation. As a joke!2 points

Ah now I have to cut six some slack here as ineffective as the trolling might be without the armed troll backup he was my first troll, a troll for internet toddlers so to speak so he has a place… fuck knows where but surely somewhere.2 points

Well now you’ve been trolling a long time so far be it from me to give you pointers on how to up your game to a less than dull level but maybe try and avoid so much repetition, fresh material maybe, rather than the limp stuff past its sell by date. Otherwise it just gets a bit…2 points

It's a .mov file. Quicktime plays it. Try right click and download. Or I can sum it up for ya'll; Or here it is in mp4 format http://teamyikes.com/851/ChinaSyndrome.mp4 Early on in the process you could see arcing inside the case, after the case split open of course. The good news is, these batteries are usually Lithium IRON as opposed to Lithium ION, which means they don't have the same tendancy to burst into actual flames when they fail. I didn't know the difference at the time so watching it progress was oh so wonderfully suspenseful as I waited for the flames. I was pretty sure it was going to burn down on the side of the road, but it didn't. So here's what happened as I understand it. The regulator failed, and the voltage to the battery reached somewhere around 60 (according to the manufacturer, that's what it'd take to overpower the built in protection, which they have since increased). When the voltage gets too high in a lithium battery, it starts to plate it's internals. Eventually it shorts itself out internally and then it's China Syndrome time. There's not a damn thing you can do until all the smoke leakes out. In my case the bike stalled, then started again, then died for good. Stopped on the side of the road, removed the seat to get to the tool kit, and noticed a small wisp of smoke. What the??? Small wisp became massive amounts accompanied by a horrible stench. A seriously nasty chemical smell that stuck to everything even after the event. Peaking under the fairing (while holding my breath) I saw arcing inside the case. After replacing the regulator and battery, I ended up having to replace the ECU, a bulb or two, and a relay. There is some sort of device in the ECU that is supposed to protect against over voltage. The component unsoldered itself and was rattling around in the ECU's case. Old school Ducati regulators suck. Don't run a lithium battery without a MOSFET regulator. Just don't do it. PS: The tool kit included with a 1991 Ducati 851 is missing one tool that is required to remove the fairing. You've been warned. That fastener was omitted when the faring was reinstalled by the way.2 points

Regardless of opportunity, and Pete does provide opportunity, why would one want to “bum” him? More so in an abandoned building?2 points
