Had a good ride today the route certainly wore the newness off the Beta, There were two groups of 8 but two of our group failed to show due to a busted wheel on their trailer which had them stranded on the M4. Some of the lanes were tough for our group but i'm sure the other group got around no problem. It was 122 miles from door to door for me and i was out 10 hours no wonder i feel pooped. Just a few photos and videos taken of a couple of the lanes we didn't stop much and when we did photos were the last thing on our minds This was our band of merry men you can see flat Holm and Steep Holm in the distance just off Cardiff bay, The weather stayed good all day Some kind of hold up ahead This was it one of many obstacles to negotiate throughout the day A lot of the lanes were like this which were easy going and the rest were like this which is quite a steep and rocky Alan this is your old CCM Further up the hill The Beta at the bottom waiting patiently for it's turn There was lots of waiting, being the tail ender meant i couldn't see what was going on and just had to wait there was a big rock in the way on this one there seemed to be big rocks in the way all day though. The guy in front of me here called it a day after this lane he had had his fill and headed home Shortly after something spooked the Beta and it tried to escape up a tree Not to self let the bike go don't try and hold onto it Last of the videos this is called pumphouse lane its got a bit rougher since the last time i done it, I dropped the Beta on this one, I got up the hard bit went to put my foot down and i couldn't reach the floor and over it went, sure was easy to pick up though. More of Alans old bike being punished And this was the best effort of the day he was on a CRF250 rally It was a tough day with a good bunch of lads all willing to help each other along Last photo for you Pete just before i washed it. i do wash them i just don't do a very good job9 points

Finally got around to writing this up, I have been way too busy with union stuff at work. A couple of weeks ago I went for a run out to the border with England while it is still open, if the Scottish Nazi Party get their way it will be closed at some point. I went down the A68 which would be a great motorcycling road if it wasn't for all the speed cameras but that isn't much of an issue for the tractor. As there have been complaints of not enough pictures I went out of my way to take some. So here we are just outside Edinburgh, with those lovely wind turbines. Who doesn't love a nice wind turbine? Obligatory picture of the beast. Some miles later I headed off the main road towards my first planned stop. Which was Scotts View, said to be Sir Walter Scotts favourite view in Scotland. It was an even better view this time as this beauty was there. I continued along the lanes and was going to take in one of the Abbeys in the area but it was closed still so I headed to the Wallace statue that looks over the Jedburgh Valley, it was a bit of a walk though the woods to get there, luckily I wasn't raped by trolls. They live under trees like this. Here is the man himself. and his view of the lands he won back for Scotland before he made a twat of himself and suffered a brutal end at the hands of the English. I didn't go down the hill as there were strange noises and I am a lazy fucker. I headed back to the bike, it was at this point I realised I should have asked more questions of the person I spoke with earlier who said I might see "raptors" near the Wallace statue, I looked and looked and did not see any hawks in the area at all. However on the path back through the woods I met this bastard. Luckily a couple of English fatties walked up at this point so as my reptilian friend and his family took to eating this feast that were too wobbly to get away I took a swift walk to the bike and left. I headed back to the A68 and did not stop until I got the border. Where I turned around and availed myself of a cup of tea and a cheese burger and a cigar before heading back. I even got picture of some porn for Pete, these are English sheep.6 points

I'm in a group chat on WhatsApp, it's call the Mag bike boys. Mag being the magdelan estate where we grew up. A good bunch of them went yesterday and they posted more pics of themselves than the items and bikes they went to see.6 points

Maybe they just didn't want you as a client Dave? I mean it's understandable they didn't want the brand tarnished by endless footage of you binning your Vespa!5 points

So, despite my bravado yesterday about the poor weather I’ve slapped myself and taken a dose of common sense; trip put off until next week when there’s less chance of meeting Noah and his Ark en route.5 points

So a plan was hatched today for next Thursday and Friday. Four of us are doing a scenic 350klms from Mazarrón to Trevelez taking in the best twisty bits we can find. Staying over in a couple of wooden bungalows on one of the highest campsites in Spain. Friday morning we’ll set off home nursing hangovers The weather looks a bit iffy as there’s a 40% chance of rain on both days but I couldn’t give a flying fuck. I need a road trip, albeit a small one. I’m going on the 23 year old, 84,000klm Honda CBR600F3……..because I can. I’ll be joined by a mate on his ageing Kawasaki ZR7-S, another mate on his spanking new Triumph Tiger and his wife on her Kawasaki ER5. Photos and a crap write up to follow.4 points

I had Pfizer last time and believe that’s the booster being given here, don’t believe we have the option of Moderna, what makes me laugh is they say it’s better to have a different type but offer us the same.3 points

I was working for the woodland Trust, educating people about woodlands, wildlife and conservation and encouraging them to join and support. I quit the Trust when they started down the Extinction Rebellion BS before that there was a different CEO who was all about Woodlands and wildlife for people, the new CEO took away all the things I liked about the trust, 35k educational free downloads for children and schools, £1 per month memberships for kids, trees for schools programs etc. The trust as usual would try to book a hotel for me wherever they sent me but for festivals I said stuff that, bought a camper and stayed at each one, spend the day doing my work up til 4pm, then getting shit face wankered every night :), sometimes I don't even remember going back to base I was the best MDO they ever had, knocked all their previous stats into a cocked hat, spent 2 years with them they would make sure they sent me to every major event they had nationally except north of Manchester as that was getting a bit too far away for me, loved the job but it had to come to an end Some of the festivals wanted me to go back the next year as a photographer but of course Covid 19 hit and killed them all off for two years, maybe 2022 I may go back to them, I'm 60 years old now but only 9-19yrs in my head, It's fucking weird being the same age as old people3 points

Another interesting tale from a seemingly ordinary person that you could meet in the street and not look twice at. https://spitalfieldslife.com/2021/09/20/the-return-of-benjamin-shapiro/3 points

Update- A new pain has developed, being bikeless in the sun surrounded by empty roads and tarmac is very painful. It started last week and I can stand it no more. I’m going home to get a bike then I can take my sweet time dithering and researching what bike I’m going to get. Flight booked for Thursday. So I’ll either be a bit absent from here or on here all the time avoiding sorting stuff, always hard to predict when procrastination will strike3 points

I hadn't realised that one of those event photographers was there until I saw the little tent with a board covered in zillions of tiny images with numbers next to them. I stared hard as it blew back and forth in the breeze, but without reading glasses I had no chance of finding myself between 8am and 9:30am. Grabbed a card instead so I could find the website and checked it out on my large screen, much easier.3 points
