Had a great ride with the TRF again yesterday perfect weather for trail riding, we started with 11 riders then went down to 10 and later went up to 13 which went back to 10 and then went up to 11 again as we bumped into other riders and a few dropped out on route. We were in the Pontypool and Usk area again, everything is totally different after the recent rain we've had didn't have time to take photos as the ride was flowing so nicely. Only incident for me was I dropped the bloody bike fooling about on the way to the meeting point not 10 minutes from my house and bent the radiator. I think the rad brace i fitted payed for themselves yesterday. I had time to take this as there's someone laying down in the stream ahead Dreaded roman road in Mamhilad again those rocks were slippery This is what almost fucked my rad, i was practising riding over it when my footrest caught the piece of concrete sticking up and stalled the bike there was nowhere to put my foot down so the bike fell over landing on that large piece of concrete with the radiator taking the full impact. Assessing the damage when i got home I think without the brace on i would have been pushing it home7 points

All fixed i took a trip up to find the bit of missing plastic and fused it back together with my soldering iron. Also pulled the rad back to somewhere near to its original position cant straighten it out properly without removing it and that means draining the cooling system so it will do for now Before After5 points

An October Jaunt Autumn is my favourite time of year to ride. Not too hot, not too cold, Goldilocks style all the way. Just right! But perhaps without the bears.... So on a beautiful October day it seemed logical to journey out on the Himalayan for a short but enjoyable October jaunt. The autumn forest is lovely to ride through and the cool air makes the bike feel like it could go all day. Clear views, a simple single and sweet road conditions, makes for one happy Grasshopper! Spent the weekend at The Aviator in Sywell. I’m a bit of a sucker for time pieces and its an old art deco officers mess that was so well looked after they kept the original Art Deco fixtures n fittings and turned it into a hotel. Its still a working airfield and has a museum attached (shut this morning so cant tell you what thats like). I loved the old furniture and architecture. After a lovely ride in the sunshine across the Cotswolds it was a great place to stop. The food menu does not do the place justice at all, it was well executed but very basic pub menu (gammon egg n chips, burger n chips etc etc) but they said they had to pull the menu right back because just like other hotels they cant find staff and have to keep it as simple as possible. Cheaper than most premier inns but much much more interesting. https://www.aviatorhotel.co.uk/2 points

We moved from Virgins 100 to 200mps a little while ago. !00 was fine but she was offered a "good deal". Now there are times that speed shows when loading an ad littered page but must admit to having to wait more since changing. I can speed test at times and get the above results, other times it will hang around the 50mps then just up towards the end like it knows it's being tested.2 points

The French are not as anarchic and revolutionary as most people believe. The French have a right to demonstrate written into their laws and constitution, so there's nothing illegal about it. The big demonstrations are perfectly legal and organised in conjunction with the law, having had a declaration made to the local authorities a couple of weeks prior, the route taken by the cortege is planned and agreed with the organisers and the authorities, including details of assembly points, routes taken, timings and dispersal points. The authorities provide a certain amount of security on top of the organisers security ( all of which has to be declared and notified in advance to the requisite authorities) The last two times I have participated in biker demonstrations in Paris, it has been organised by the FFMC ( french equivalent of MAG in the UK and affiliated to the FEM) the local branch assembling at the entry to the autoroute. The group was met by a 4 man police outrider team in a layby south of paris and we were escorted to the main assembly point at the Chateau de Vincennes. The main demonstration rode at a snails pace around the peripherique with police outriders front and rear and descreet ( but I suspsuct heavy) police prescence hiding in the wings at strategic points along the way ( as they had been informed in advance of the route and the timings) I had to stop for fuel at one point but was never able to rejoin the main group as the rear police escort was a double cordon blocking all attempts by other motorists to approach the cconvoy from the rear.2 points
