Bit risky parking there surely Ian? People are going to mistake it for another Dumpster and start lobbing their rubbish all over it!5 points

Sun came out and temps went up to 25c......so it was time to get the Beemer out. I followed the canal paths and even did a couple of trails to access them! The recent storms had strewn rocks all over the paths..... But being such a Rugged Individualist I didn't let that put me off! Here's the view from the highest point of the canal paths...... There's even water flowing in the canal! This bridge carries the water over the top of the canal path..... When I got back to town it was fill the tank up and take it through the Jet Wash......it had about two months dust on it! Not that many miles done today because it's fairly low speed stuff.......but at least I bit the bullet and got out there! And did a Ride Report too! I'm fucking carrying you Casuals!4 points

Ive pretty much sabotaged enjoying any of the preparation for Spain now, wot a moron, well worth it though2 points

But they are bloody good wheels and he'd get most of that back if he got rid of the bike and sold the wheels separate2 points

yes, of course I could have waited for a couple of years until Honda added them to the bike. plus an extra 50cc and a wizz-bang full colour screen on the dash. but then I would have had to pay upwards of an extra £6000 for the privilege. and the bike would have suited me less as they made it lower. I wiped out my savings for other bits and bobs as well as the cash I had left over from the bank loan... but in the scheme of things, Its turned out to be quite a bargain.2 points

£2.5 and no lottery win required. Im rather good at saving dontcha know. Also I got a surprise discount on the bike, I was originally quoted £12000 and ended up paying rather less. (a lot less - winter discount) luggage and a few other bits and bobs were put on the back burner and I splashed out on the wheels. My bike came with tubes as standard.. the only thing I didn't like about the bike and they had to go. I was going for Alpina.. but in the end found I could afford these. just. just after fitting them. I have a waiting list of owners hoping (vainly) that I will sell the bike and then sell the wheels. to them. NOT A CHANCE!!!2 points

Hoping to kick off in the next 10 days. Having to leave arrangements until the very last minute as commitments mean the date in mind next week could get pushed back but rough ideas are starting to come together and even if there are delays this will be executed soon. Thinking to catch the ferry from Plymouth (Portsmouth is also an option) to Santander. According to Google the most direct route is then 8hrs 45mins to the Andalucian coast. I’m not in any rush so I’m going to allow 3 days riding for that, meaning we can meander via the most enjoyable roads n soak it up. Taking the Himalayan (awesome friggin bike so that’s a given also the RE Continental… ouch ). Have committed to recording some of it for my boys so I should hopefully have some stuff to post… although as someone who doesn’t even like having their photo taken that’ll be ‘a challenge’ There’s definitely more of a winging it feel to this than usual! Don’t want to miss the opportunity to ask for ideas or opinions though so let’s hear ‘em1 point

This was a band who busked all over London, first one of their videos, good car driving song, singing the chorus as loud as you can when I'm in the mood. Then them busking and Arnold the passing dancer.1 point

No idea why this popped up, but I know the song from the UK TV series (comedy?) MUM which is brilliant and well worth a watch, by the same writer as Him and Her I think.1 point

One springs to mind and also one I've never admitted to...until now. Was on a trip to Germany in 2016 and left early on a Saturday morning to head back to the UK from Neuerburg on my own, leaving the others at the hotel. Leaving the town, there were roadworks so I stopped at the red light and then went on the green as usual. Thing is, the roadworks lane was on the left and when I set off I stayed in that lane and headed down the road totally forgetting where I was until a van came towards me flashing it's lights and beeping it's horn. In a split second I realised I was on the wrong side of the road and moved the bike across to the right so quickly I ended up riding on a grass verge and nearly binned it before pulling over and spending a minute nearly throwing up with the shock. Anyway, got back to Calais in less than 4 hours so the day turned out alright in the end1 point

I was at college in Lewisham, SE London during the winter of '76/'77. It was a bitterly cold day and during the late afternoon there was a bit of snow started to fall, so I decided to bail out of college and head for home in Kent. I was on my RD350B and the journey started OK, but as it went on the snow got worse. By the time I got to about 10 miles from home I was riding in the ruts left by cars, with both feet down! My visor wouldn't stay open because of the ice on my lid and I couldn't ride with the visor down because it was steamed up and the snow was just sticking to it. In the end I ripped the visor off and slung it. My mum and dad lived at the bottom of a hill on a housing estate. I took a look at the hill when I got there and decided that I'd leave the bike at the top of the hill and walk the last bit home. The journey, which normally took me about 30-40 minutes had taken not short of 1.5hrs and I was frozen to the marrow by the time I got home.1 point

Going too fast on my CX500 on a dual carriageway, saw a queue and started braking, brakes not up to it so carried on down the middle still braking like mad, reckon I passed about 15 cars before I got to the speed I should have been filtering at. Riding into the Blackwall Tunnel when a metal hub cap came flying at my face from traffic going the opposite way. I jerked my head so quickly to avoid getting knocked out I had a bad neck for about a week afterwards. On my GPz750 late at night, I came flying round a corner on a dual carriageway hill in town. Two cars had stopped for no apparent reason so I braked and came to a nice controlled stop. Looking in my mirror I saw a Ford XR3 Turbo thing with all its wheels locked up screeching up behind me. I clenched everything and it stopped gently touching my number plate.1 point
