  2. Had a great ride today on the Honda. When I left home it was dark and cloudy so the autumn colours looked even more brilliant. Then it started to rain and back to sun by the time I got home. Such a nice time of year to ride. Have a good weekend everyone!

  3. Looking dicey on the ferry front tomoz, theyve not cancelled yet but the red gale force warning areas are creeping down the left side of the country and Plymouth is now “moderate, occasionally rough” which sounds like a lot of people I know Anyone with a connection to any deity put a word in wuddya?

  6. Unlike you Casuals I've been out Styling and Profiling! And surprisingly it's looking very green......which is weird, because apart from the storm a month ago we've had no rain.

  7. I said yes on the poll but the new tracer looks fugly. So tempted by another xt1200. Honda Dominators, not so fussed now I've had them for so long and know their list of faults. As for the TDM, I seem to go find another as soon as I trade/sell one.

  10. Woke up to a chilly morning, and went outside to weed out the garden/jungle/meadow, then after working out an apetite got on the bike and went to my favourite spot by the river where I enjoyed a great sandwich and absolutely perfect weather. Came back via the road that crosses all the farm fields, the road is caked in dry dirt. The dirt was dragged onto the road as mud when the trucks from picking up the tomatoes were working, then it rained, and then it got hot and dry, and the truck traffic pressed it. It's now a mix of tarmac and very hard compacted dirt. Fuelled up the bike and now am relaxing on the sofa with the windows open, might wash the bike tomorrow or this afternoon, but I'm feeling lazy now.

  15. I wouldn’t try what he is doing (age thing) but what I frequently do is mount the bike from the opposite side to the side stand. Makes it much easier when the bikes loaded with luggage. Feels a bit dodgy the first couple of times, but once you get the body positioning right, it becomes “learnt” and natural. It’s about using your right foot to mount and then getting your body mass slightly to the other side of the bike as you mount and the bike starts to lift off the side stand. If that makes sense. Found a video.

  16. A sunny autumn day, started kind of sad and having no will to make lunch at home, after some work I rode to my favourite place in the hills for a burger. On the way there, I took a dirt shortcut, only 3 or 4 kms but good fun, stopped for pictures just for you guys One of my favorite bits of road There will be a car rally tomorrow on that road in previous pictures, I don't know if that's the reason why but they fixed some of the bumps cause by tree roots pushing the road up, they put patches of tarmac "fixing it", they're smooth now which spoils my advantage over sports bikes , but those kind of fixes never last and it's bound to be a potholed mess after a winter or two. Lunch, on a deserted place that is filled with bikers and cyclists on sundays Being the season, I foraged for tonight's dessert It's a nice place to stop by Stopped by my local Dainese outlet for a coffee and went in to check winter pants, I have been riding in jeans for years but feel like having something waterproof and better for winter riding this year, ordered a special size as I'm shaped oddly, waiting to see what they come up with. On the way home I took a couple of dirt roads, only to find the really fast one approaching my town is closed for works, I home they're not surfacing it ... no pictures of that. Weather turned from a chill 15º to a most excellent 23º by then, returning from the hills, my choice for a t-shirt under the basic jacket proved right. Got home in a better mood than I left, and spent the following two or three hours pulling weeds out of my garden / wild field. Now finishing a beer and this report outside in freezing wind, ready to go inside cook some grub and have some red wine , such is the life in the southern Portuguese countryside.
