It is shit! I’m 52 and two years ago I didn’t take a single medication, now I take 7! High BP, Cholesterol, Arteriosclerosis and recently found out I have a hiatus hernia just to add to the mix. I’ll be lucky to make it to 55 at this rate7 points

Was having a trawl through some footage from my trip to the Pyrenees in 2016 and found this. Not all Spanish roads are racetrack smooth, this one looked like they'd started the work and then fucked off mid-job to go for a siesta...and never returned. Was near Jaca. To be fair, I loved the Pyrenees and the N260. Wanna go back there.6 points

its not racist , its a jealousy thing , the Scotts are the same , we conquered the welsh in the 13th century and the twats cant get over it, we beat them at everything , they are crap at football and rugby and most other sports and they got a silly accent... i spit in @XTreme general direction5 points

I don't molest Ginger Dagos! There aren't any! Mind you, if I'd come here and did all my breeding with different women in the 70's, 80's, and 90's as I did in the UK......the place would be overrun with Ronald McDonalds now!5 points

I've come across unfinished roadworks like that in Spain, not much fun on your sportsbike but a good laugh for us on trail bikes. We were all on small/mid sized trail bikes and were passed by some Germans on smooth tarmac . They were quite rude in their riding and just sort of barged past us , cutting in at the last moment and stuff but we had the last laugh as we caught them up crawling along in the roadworks and belted past them , roosting them with gravel and dust5 points

My mate bought a Shad box that expanded. He was very proud of it. On the only three journeys I did with him with it fitted it did the following:- 1/ Couldn't unlock it for about 30 minutes after arrival at an event, when it did unlock it jammed on one side on the expansion part and then he couldn't lock it shut. Had to walk around with his jacket and lid. 2/ Riding behind him on the way back from somewhere in Sussex, I noticed the lid hadn't shut properly and was flapping up and down. I tried bibbing for half a mile but the deaf sod didn't hear that, so I overtook him pointing at his top box. He waved and went straight past me as I slowed down to stop in a convenient lay-by. Eventually he realised what I was hinting at and stopped somewhere dangerous to relock it. 3/ Same as number 1 only this time it only jammed for 10 minutes. Then the lid opened on the way home again and he had waterproof trousers hanging out the back flapping about. He still goes on about how marvellous it is that it can change sizes???5 points

You get used to it......but as you say, you need something like a big trailie for where I live. There are twats out on cruisers but they never venture off the main roads.4 points

...all I found was this, so you should be good to go Pedro #35. Do not try to travel back to the time of the big bang. The universe was incredibly small back then, and there are trillions of other organisms out there who have already had the same bright idea as you, or are going to have it at some point in the future. The traffic is highly congested, and you WILL get into a wreck. So don't even try it.4 points

For me it all depends on how much money I’ve got at the time of needing something but generally it goes like this as far as possible; Alpinestars for leathers and textiles Suomy and Uvex helmets Sidi boots for the road and either Alpinestars or Forma for off road. Klim gloves for the dirt and Spada for the road. ……………and any old hideous, cheap, gawdy coloured shite MX/Enduro/Trials clothing for the dirt. I have no shame.3 points

I stand by Richa textile suits. Mine has been through biblical downpours (2 days of constant rain riding through France was a real test) and not let a drop in. Great for the price (about £450, 6 years ago). HJC helmets all the way for me. They fit my head just right. I agree with @Tango, Lomo bags are superb, again tested in plenty of rainstorms.3 points

I don't really care about 'brands' where gear is concerned.. its whats they use in manufacturing that matters. I insist on goretex and the little know fact about gortex is that they insist on a very high standard in QC from the manufacturers they supply. so, if you buy something that uses goretex then you can be guaranteed it is well made and, most importantly guaranteed to be waterproof long after the original warranty expires. just contact Gore and they will refund you. Im also fairly limited as I have to go for gear that have a longer leg option. Helmets are all about fit, so the brand is pretty much an irrelevance. a helmet that doesn't fit is worse than useless, doesn't matter if it cost you £600+ I managed to pick up an ortleib bag at a whopping discount and its lasted me for years.. I only use it for camping to keep all my gear together in one place. Lomo is good, but is really just a discounted copy. the devil is in the detail. My mate jack has a lomo copy of my bag and the differences, though small, add up. I tend to go for stuff made in Germany, where possible. Ive never had a problem with anything from there.. brands like SW-Motech. for those small but essential items of farkle. Ive been very happy with my Honda.. first Honda Ive ever owned and it hasn't disappointed me. thus far, On paper it was only a relatively minor upgrade from my GS.. but in reality its worlds apart. the differences between a bike designed in the late 90s and 2018. remarkable. its also quite unique with the DCT, which continues to delight. I guess the only brand.. that I really do stick with, since trying it (almost by accident) back in 2011 has nothing to do with bikes. but its a brand Im going to stick with come what may. and that's Apple. I love my Mac Mini and my 13 pro max phone. And couldn't care less what anyone thinks about that.2 points

Those rough bits aren't that bad in comparison to some of them here Rob. What can catch people out is the road changing from billiard table smooth to a lunar landscape in an instant.2 points
