  4. Picked up my bike from oldgrump today. I was terrified of riding it over this massive windy, rainy hill and had visions of going round the block and back to his house with it. How wrong was i. It was an absolute dream come true and i cant thank him enough. What a legend. Not often you will ever see 2 of these together these days.

  5. I can remember when we did a rally in the Spanish Pyrenees, they put us in a really posh hotel and after a day on the trails we walked in soaked to the skin and covered in crap. They didn't bat an eyelid in the hotel, lovely people and made our stay so nice even though we were scared to touch anything This is the hotel............. https://riberies.cat/galeria-fotos

  9. Yeh I had a ride there, being as the weather was not too bad, CMC was packed...... It was like getting through a football crowd in the store, I gave up,. And the queue for the cafe was long, so I left and had a steady ride home.

  11. Did you see the end of the Abu Dhabi desert challenge?? (not actual dakar, my bad) No fuel stops in the final stage and the leaders started running out of fuel. Walkner ran out 25km short of the finish, Daniel Sanders pushed the bike through sand for the last two kilometres. Can you imagine the frustration.

  12. It's the Abu Dhabi race

  13. Oh I mean the latest race in the championship, not Dakar race itself. Sorry it's only 6am here, need more coffee

  14. I took this pic in a posh hotel loo a couple of years ago cos even the whites of my eyes were muddy, I couldn’t open my eyes very well I had to leave a decent tip in the room for the poor staff that were going to have to deal with the mountain of mud that fell of this stuff It had some sort of crystal/mineral in it that glinted in sunlight, Im still finding bits of it now, I can confirm it doesn’t very taste nice, not eating mud is the right move.

  19. Granby Motorcycles in Ilkeston were the biggest grey importers around here, my VFR was from them, it was a French import, speedo in kms, headlight dipped the wrong way. CMC started in a poxy little shop in Stavely, but always been a UK bike seller. https://yamaha.cmcbikes.com/pages/history/about-cmc.htm

  21. I did buy a scoot from them years ago, must admit they were very helpful in the purchase. Not much competition for them around here.

  22. From their posts on FB, it seems they are doing reasonable trade, saying they have 30/40 new (pre owned)bikes in stock. But that could be them fiddling the figures as they have several shops.

  30. On paper they are better than the CRF but more expensive to buy not heard any bad reports about them if its been looked after will be a good bike. Not sure of the second hand value as i only look at bike prices when I'm buying

  31. That looks pretty decent......not sure on prices there but that would sell here around €3K no bother.

  36. We kept a short notice list for people who could get to the hospital within an hour. If you can do that it’d be worth mentioning because most people are no shows or cancel appointments at the very last minute on the day Makes it very difficult to use the appt for someone else. The short notice patients are like gold dust - no wasting of resources and operation dates etc.

  37. Im all for people getting their jollies in whatever form makes them happy (excluding deviancy that hurts other people… unless the other person likes getting hurt… hmm free fall rambling occurring.. my batteries must be flat… Im going for a nap… after a post or two..) but cos my house is in a field the buggers get bored and decide they’d like to have a little snoop into my house. Doesnt happen often but it is an mahoosive invasion of privacy and Id like to destroy them a bit.. a lot.. serve the nosey buggers right doncha fink?

  38. Totally love this bike. I have to say i prefer it with the standard screen but if im on the mway i struggled with it. The big screen does spoil the look of it but i can actually stay on over 60mph
