Supposedly the last mild day tomorrow ......get my act together and have a ride . Spare room is all ready for the scoot to slumber in IF the bad/cold weather arrives.

Yeah everywhere I have applied for have all of a sudden got in contact and its the same hours worked for nearly 4k more a year

Going to the rugby club tomorrow to watch England vs South Africa with the lads, then to some Christmas Market on Sunday morning....apart from that fuck all then starting on concrete wagons on Monday morning

TFL said they were going to put a double decker under this during the Olympics, I said will it fit? They assured me it would. My next question was could I watch them try please? They said I could ride on the test bus if I wanted, but I declined. No idea height of DD bus so it may have fitted. I do note that since the Olympics the bridge height sign is 6 inches lower than before. It used to say 4.6m/15'

We have a few interesting bridges, there is one that is often used as an off route trip for single deckers, they tried to send me that way once when I was covering a single deck route with a double decker, I just ignored them and went a different way. We have one route where two very different designed bridges are joined together and you would swear you can’t get a decker under but it will in the middle of the road, bit of an optical illusion. We also have a regular one that is 4 inches taller than a decker, for some reason trucks get stuck under it at least twice a year, I think they see us go under it and decide to ignore that they may be a few inches taller.

That’ll be three of us then. I fucking hate rain. It’s miserable stuff.

Mostly getting back to the good life Packed up a case with some luxury items, loose twist pile (sounds like folk on this forum) xtra lrg bath sheet size towels, Egyptian cotton sheets, heated throws, good quality chocolate, branston , tracklements extra hot mustard, pork n pickle pies … oh yeah this trip is just waaay hard core Bonus, my good friend who’s joining me wants a car to get about, fair doos I say and hire one. I go over on Monday evening to help her with the annoying covid forms and ask her if her passport and driving licence are in date…. Passport yes, driving licence? Wot they expire? She applies to renew her licence Tuesday morning. I think how great, I get to drive her everywhere in a car like a holiday chauffeur while my bike sits idle, can’t wait Then she text me about 4pm to say look wot turned up. Yep her new driving licence arrived, applied Tuesday arrived Friday

International Motorcycle Show tomorrow, Los Angeles Car Show on Sunday. Will see which manufacturers show and those that dont. On the upside, we will be riding to the IMS show, cause Kali

Ordered a washing machine from a local store online for delivery. Estimated delivery date came and went with no word from them, so Mandy phoned them up. It's now out of stock! Not sure if they were going to let us know? Anyway, Mandy said we'll just cancel the order and we'll get one from somewhere else. Apparently we have to send an email to cancel the order, which I've done.................silence! Mandy is going to call them again today to find out what's going on! Fortunately I paid with PayPal, so I can open a dispute if necessary! Most other places that we've ordered stuff from have been great, but this shower are useless. Won't be using them again!

During the Olympics many buses were on diversion. One driver who hadn't paid attention managed to take his double decker through the Blackwall Tunnel by mistake. His passengers all gave him the advice to find somewhere to turn around and go back to the north side of the Thames. Luckily he was not that silly, the southbound tunnel is newer (1969) than the Edwardian northbound tunnel and will take a double decker, the north bound won't. I reckon he had to head to Tower Bridge or Dartford to get back.

That was pretty much what last Sundays ride was like without the fallen trees and river, plenty of muddy holes, rocks and climbs along with the off's

From the link above, this is currently being converted into our new Town hall, no one wants to work there it's a nightmare to get to or park around. Even the Elephant Man died rather than stay there, I bet I get his old room (when they finish getting all the asbestos out of it), or a desk outside on the old helicopter pad, I'm sure that wasn't an original feature!

Just watched the video.. which took me back. Hard to believe Phil Lynott died 35yrs ago. he would be 72 now had he survived the effects of his heroin dependency. such a tragic loss.

All of what you say is SPOT ON, particularly this bit about dismantling frameworks created by your parents. In my case, I never even went to school so didn't have any other influences to mediate their influence - except for books. Damn, I read a lot of books
