Tyre changing for me in a moment. Got mate on his way down from Redditch heading for Exeter but stopping here to change a front tyre (I've got one in stock). Tyres are becoming a pain to get hold of, along with oil etc. I noticed that brake pads have shot up in price by about 50% as well3 points

Currently I am reading Never Cry Wolf by Farley Mowat Love it so far, I can see why it is such a popular classic. Everything I do lately seems to lead me to the North.....3 points

Thanks for the recommendation, I have to say that does sound good. I love books that have a celebration of nature, or just lots of it. I was going to share this on here before but got shy about it, but now that we are talking about nature and books...... I just finished reading, The Singing Wilderness by Sigurd Olson Great book if you like nature, it is a bit older, written in the 50's.....but I really liked it, and want to go fly fishing now..... https://www.amazon.ca/Singing-Wilderness-Sigurd-F-Olson/dp/0816629927/ref=asc_df_0816629927/?tag=googleshopc0c-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=292961595591&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=14679134430438751452&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9001444&hvtargid=pla-493443267273&psc=13 points

This ones non motorcycle fiction book written in a very lyrical style and even has a bit of poetry chucked in every now and then. Not being a practical or real life rendition of events its really not my cup of tea except its descriptions of nature are so well done its lovely. Most of its written in an American accent (well thats what I can hear) and its definitely off piste for this place (no offence mouth breathers) but I couldn’t not mention it because when I read it I thought @Grasshopper's Ride would like this. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Where-Crawdads-Sing-Delia-Owens/dp/14721546653 points

Same here, Bob. Tires seem to be quick as always but oil is scarce. My mechanic is using BMW branded oil because his usual Castrol hasn't been available.2 points

What better way to communicate without using our words than by spamming each other with gifs? Drop your favourite moto gif in this thread, it can be a kind of library for the non-wordy amongst us. In other news, I made myself into a gif, and I feel gleeful about it for puerile reasons I don't understand https://imgflip.com/gif/5ubrji2 points

Some days are off days. Some days I can't ride for shit and I have no idea why haha. It's something of which I became acutely aware when I was riding every day during the first couple of years of my trip. Some days, you just need to give up and chill tf out before you get run over by a truck or fall off a cliff...2 points

Yup. When i was young and had my whole life in front of me i didn't give a shit and just used to throw myself at stuff without a care, now i'm older and don't have so much life left i seem to be far more careful and think about the consequences before i do stuff2 points
