I suspect that I have the longest unblemished record here......coming up to 44 years now. Disregard the 7 years before that.....it was just a trial run.4 points

Yesterday had to pick up some medical products at the Veterinarian Hospital I work with, normally 28 kms, but decided to go the longer way round, including a ride up the highest elevation near me at 395m. It was very windy up there, but it was worth it for the views and the peaceful feeling I enjoyed there. On previous visits, mainly with @Pedro, the location always provided us with big views for good pictures! And because it is my intention to not miss out on BOTM in December, I have collected some material!! On a previous post, mine or Pedro's, not sure, we talked a little about this location and its history. One of the most not-so-amusing moments of my incursions into off-roading was going up this hill a couple of years back! Suddenly there was no more tarmac road, just dirt and loose rock for the Pirelli's to deal with! Here is the video. This road is now fully tarmac, thank God! At least for me, others AVDs will disagree!! The road winds it self through wine country and the vineyards, now naked from their leaves, but still very pretty and the land hugs us with its undulations. It is actually a very pretty region this, with well established wine houses that produce many litters of nice wine. It has its own route of Wine helping the tourists find find a good tipple!! On the road to Torres Vedras, the N8, a new bikers cafe has opened and I was able to enjoy a lovely pork steak sandwich and the traditional expresso, the cafezinho! Lovely crowd that, like me, lived in the UK for almost 20 years. Its called Route N8 Cafe, which is cool!! If any of you ever visits this region, for a sure a good place to stop. Here are some pictures! And to end the day, took advantage of a gorgeous Sunset, spreading a little more magic over the Triumph!4 points

Going on a road trip! Leaving tomorrow on the CBR. Gonna ride across half of Thailand, going solo again, can't wait. I kind of wish I had the KTM with me here in Thailand so that I could go explore some sketchy dirt roads up near the Laos border but you can't always get what you want; and the CBR will be a bundle of fun on those twisties. And...I just can't wait to get back on the road, even if it's just for a short (week, maybe?) outing. The second wave of covid here in Thailand has kept me confined to Chiang Mai province and sheltering up on my mountain for months now, and it's an unfamiliar feeling to stay in one place.4 points

Yep My mum used to threaten us with milk of magnesia, that stuff nearly always induced a miraculous recovery, miraculous because you’d swear you were better just from seeing the bottle.3 points

I was going to ask what does fluffy mean, but it's actually pretty clear what you mean. Is fluffy a technical term?3 points

Yes, for two reasons, 1/ it's the quietest day there It's a major rat run during the week and rammed on Sundays due to a food market in the park. 2/ Overtime!!!!! Also we are only allowed to work up till the 13th December then we have to barrier it all up and wait till after Christmas because London's Mayor forbids all work over his embargo period (4th Jan). I couldn't start before Friday because Water or Gas were doing something up till then.2 points

Today was day 1 of my trafficy type scheme. It should have started yesterday but the road was closed for Thames Water to fix a bust water pipe (first picture). After waiting for a nice electrician to disconnect the power supply we smashed out an island to make the road a bit wider to give us working room and me and Jim (Irish Jim) set out my echelon parking bays which I could do now I had the parking suspended. I pinched the white globe and lantern for my mate's garden lighting or a planter. I met the pair who will be doing the building, two east Europeans. The one who could speak English (there is only ever one in each pair) said I was to call him Jimmy and to call his mate Eddie as no one can pronounce their proper names. I was accosted by quite a few locals who wanted to know what we were doing and one lady who wants a bench put back that was there years ago. I promised her a new bench in the Spring, she said it has to be a cast iron one with wooden slats because that is the type she likes?? I was also accosted by 5 or 6 people who wanted to know why they had no water, they thought our JCB had hit a pipe. The angled bays in question are in my drawing below. I set them out and then got one of the contractors electric vans to park in the first one to make sure it fitted. You won't see them in the pictures but I got Jimmy (2) to put small saw cuts at critical points in the road so if the paint wears off we can remark it easily. He will them make his own cuts 500mm outside those so if the JCB smashes too much out when we do that bit he can still put his kerb lines in the right place.2 points

Had my booster today which is good because Spain want a minimum of two weeks from your second vaccination and I can imagine the hassle at the airport when your booster isnt two weeks gone! Had the flu jab at the same time in the opposite arm. The flu arm is fine the Covid arm feels like lead. Got asked how old I was cos she didn’t think I was old enough for the group I was booked in with, how nice and amazing what sunglasses a mask and can do for your ego2 points

Now you come to mention it. I don’t think Speedy was suitably reverential in Stu’s direction. He reckons he’d had the hump with him and wanted him gone since a disagreement about some sort of measurement (can’t remember details) and he’d said he’d rather take the word of the definitive standards manual over the incorrect info from a bus driver…2 points

Not a clue spent the last 3 hours doing keyhole surgery taking the float bowl off the carb without removing it. Had a blocked idle jet which is now clear so the bike picks up a lot better off idle now. I've checked the tank again all looks clean and there's filters in there which wouldn't let that slime through, I did think it was my temp tank i use when the fuel tank is removed but that's clean and also has a filter so i'm at a loss. Another thing that did cross my mind is this new E10 fuel so i checked the carb on the XR and that is fine as well, going for a spin now and will keep an eye on it see if it happens again2 points
