New weekend new pet cat! Named him Garfield!

Warning just watched Boris’ latest announcement- rant alert.. I am sick of hearing “you must do this or it will overwhelm the NHS” they have had two f’in years to increase capacity to deal with this entirely predictable scenario (in fact predicted by the govts own CDC pandemic planning before Covid even happened). Initially they cried out for anyone who’d left the NHS to please come back, me and thousands of others reluctantly put our names back on the register and waited to be called… nothing, we rang.. oh umm yeah.. no. None of us actually went back because there wasnt the beds or the time n capacity to train us in a new area. But two years TWO FECKIN YEARS, in that time they could have enough beds and trained staff twice over. When you consider how much lockdowns cost the economy its surely much cheaper to just INCREASE THE FECKIN CAPACITY and let the rest of the vaccinated population and normal NHS services carry on. Soz rant over.

The question is, has @XTreme got out on his bike for some styling and profiling or has he gone to Albox for more tea bags ?

There's only one choice you can make IMO! Plus, I had to do something today to save this place from the embarrassment of no ride reports this weekend. It's the usual abandoned shit......this time it was a large abandoned farming estate just before the border with Almeria. The building was mainly sealed, and the couple of doors which were accessible were just collapsing storage rooms with no connectivity between them. So there's no virtual walkthroughs, but there is some old farming equipment laying around for those of you who like that sort of stuff! So there we go......rugged individualism is still alive and kicking!

In 2007 our firm bought 4 new Transits (long wheel base models) to replace some shitty Iveco vans.......within 6 months 3 of them were back at the dealers, engines were like hand granades, very poorly finished in the cab too, seats collapsed, but the Sprinters we had were not much better, terrible body work, rusted like buggery, boss thought he was buying German quality, but on the vin plate "Made in Brazil"

Ok, i hope everyone is ready to now have to start showing your papers to prove you have all the shots...your papers please....where have i heard that before, history, its a funny thing.

So a bit of a hiatus there, couple of days just catching up with my mate over beers. Really (apart from motorcycles) this is what life is all about. Also, deliriously happy to get cuddles from the giant bulldog (staffy cross?? who knows) Jackie, who is the biggest teddy bear of a dog despite looking scary as hell and having the physique of a large boulder. Went down to the village high school and did some guest teaching. This is not a part of Thailand where the kids have any real opportunity to practise with native English speakers, so we spent a couple of hours with them, mostly just building confidence. At around 13 years old, all the kids have been studying English for years, but were more hesitant on the speaking and listening than reading and writing. So we just spent some time having a laugh, finding out about what they like to do for fun (I learnt a lot about k-pop, anime and video games) and getting them used to speaking English with people who have wildly different accents: Australian, and a Louisiana accent which comes straight from the bayous. (Truly an awesome accent, and surprisingly, one which the kids found really easy to understand.) I also decided that my tyres were going to kill me soon. They aren't worn out but manufactured in 2016, and tyres don't last in this climate. (Obviously I didn't buy these tyres - they were on the bike when I bought it this year.) Anyway the rubber was going off, it was hard and dry with no grip. So that became my new mission: find good tyres in Issan and try not to die...

Booked my 3rd but can't get in till next year, January.
