I did a post about the Winter's chill, but I posted it here as well as a thread......not sure if Pete would be annoyed at me posting links to such things, taking people away from the forum to another page and all.... Just working on a new video right now, hope to have some new snow pics up soon.5 points

Ive always thought there was a distinct difference between a pub and a bar. To me a pub is a place you can go any time of day to get something to eat and have an alcoholic beverage or a cup of coffee if you prefer. I suppose in my mind a decent pub is a country pub a bit like a the type of thing you get a lot of in the Cotswolds where you use it to meet up with people or start n finish a dog walk (preferably with an open fire), the sort of places that are ok for children to be in at lunch time. Then there are rough pubs that you’re only semi safe in if you’re from the area or built like a brick shithouse and bars which are purely about drinking booze and usually serve cocktails on a night out. My Ozzie mate says unless a Brit opens one you only get British style pubs in Britain, in other countries they dont exist in the same format.4 points

There is only a little bit of covid in that particular province, but it's around and nobody wants to catch it. In Bangkok and Chiang Mai the risks are much higher. But mask wearing in public places like shops, markets and schools is quite prevalent because Thai people are very polite, so it's become second nature to wear masks when in settings like this, unless of course eating or drinking. It's expected of you - not wearing a mask would be considered very bad manners, a sign that you don't care about the public good.4 points

There was a pub in the town that I lived in my teens/early 20's that used to have the police vans parked outside every Friday and Saturday night in readiness! The brewery closed it for a couple of months, knocked it all into one bar, carpeted it all and put nice seats in and renamed it to try to change its image............a complete waste of time and money! It was as bad as ever, but putting a pool table in there had just given people weapons to use during the usual weekend brawls!3 points

I remember The Park pub in Swansea Easter 1972.......one huge full scale brawl (the complete pub) Townhill v Penlan! There were verandas there and people were flying off them onto the floor below! It was like something out of a Wild West film!3 points

Yeah, the first one is about 12yrs old, the other two are from the last year or so. Had the 350 at my parents old house yesterday. My brother reworked the track, sadly that first jump is gone but it was a hell of a day of riding!3 points

I suppose it depends where you were brought up. As someone who's lived in a big city for 90% of my life pubs to me are noisy , crowded places where it's almost impossible to find some space. Having said that, it's got be 30 years since I was a regular in a pub.2 points

Yes questioning things is ok but when people have been asked to do something like wearing a mask to help everyone people should do it even if they think it doesn't work its not difficult and it costs feck all these are the morons i refer to2 points

In most places you just have a load of morons that think their rights are being taken away when told to wear a mask or do anything else that helps anyone other than themselves for that matter. its so refreshing to hear when people follow the guidelines set out for them because they believe it benefits everyone instead of questioning everything.2 points

Warning just watched Boris’ latest announcement- rant alert.. I am sick of hearing “you must do this or it will overwhelm the NHS” they have had two f’in years to increase capacity to deal with this entirely predictable scenario (in fact predicted by the govts own CDC pandemic planning before Covid even happened). Initially they cried out for anyone who’d left the NHS to please come back, me and thousands of others reluctantly put our names back on the register and waited to be called… nothing, we rang.. oh umm yeah.. no. None of us actually went back because there wasnt the beds or the time n capacity to train us in a new area. But two years TWO FECKIN YEARS, in that time they could have enough beds and trained staff twice over. When you consider how much lockdowns cost the economy its surely much cheaper to just INCREASE THE FECKIN CAPACITY and let the rest of the vaccinated population and normal NHS services carry on. Soz rant over.2 points
