Last year was mad, so hopefully this year will be slightly more sane! We're hoping that travel restrictions will ease and we'll be able to visit family and friends back in the UK and have folks visit us. I think that a new bike is on the horizon!6 points

Well it is much of the same old shit but at least I now have the bike back so that is one plus from last year. Our year now consists of saving as much money as possible as the wife wants to move back down south to be closer to friends and family so she can get more help with the little one (who as it turns out is 15 months old already how has it gone so fast) I do plan on a Spain trip though if covid and funds allow so watch this space6 points

This is true, but not having the extra responsibility right now opens up some more extreme travelling options, there will be another time for a dog I'm sure......5 points

This year started off very different without a dog in the house. Which is is both an ending and a beginning for my world as I know it. 2022 is going to be so different that I am still having a hard time putting it into words. I'll share once the time comes...but I am VERY EXCITED about 20225 points

Yeah we're going to be doing it at the end of May. Only 14 days off so we'll see how far we can get.. I'll be on my CRF1000 and Elen on her Versys 300. Hopefully we'll be camping most of the way. I'm in a free state no so I'll be able to have 2 9mm with me on this trip to keep us girls safe.. I'll do a post about this. I had to buy a lot of camping gear for this so I have lots to show off..5 points

Tents can be very warm and cozy in the winter. The snow is a great insulator. I spent a week once in the mountains during the winter and loved it. Hope to do more very soon!4 points

Found my first camping spot to practice only 30mins away too. Rivington brewery shame im off the sauce buuut apparently the scooter lot are looking at camping there regularly. Then i get nearly 2 whole days and if it turns to shit i can come home.4 points

So what is it about pissing in a bottle and getting panic attacks in a sleeping bag that doesn't appeal to you?4 points

No idea but I will ask, along with anyone else who wants to come along for the adventure4 points

Oh yeh that's true, i could always do a day trip to Mablethorpe if I get withdrawal symptoms.4 points

Wife would love some winter sunshine now!.....we used to (when were both working) go to the Costa del Sol for her birthday in February, but not since we both retired......but that's not on the cards with the Covid situation, could not go anyway, as our passports expire soon.4 points
-
Same situation here as last year.........only thing different this year is a Scarborough hol instead of Mablethorpe.4 points

Thank you so much! In that case I shall continue spamming you all with stories4 points

Yes she is the smallest of all my grandkids but she is willing to do anything. The belt was to keep her from standing up because that's what she did on her first ride...3 points

Judging from the content of this thread Id say that must be true Mind you I was booking up the ferry to bring the bikes back end of June and found myself booking nice apartments with a kitchen, a washing machine and a wide screen tv rather than campsites but then Im a bone fide fair weather camper and who knows what the weather will be doing then..3 points

I had to laugh when the finished bike was put on the centre stand and the RHS indicator fell off!!! That was hysterical.3 points
-
I could, but good manners dictate that the owner of the bike always gets the last word, and he seems to be concerned that I might fall off a cliff in the jungle and die?? Haha apparently I need supervision. So I did the obvious thing and took the CBR650 which I do own, and rode up and down the mountain playing tag with the drunken holiday traffic. Much safer3 points

I've been writing about the times before covid, when border runs were a thing, my KTM was in my hot little hands, and I could have probably swum to Myanmar without getting shelled by artillery. Ah, memories. It was a good time. Except for the dead body bit. But apart from that... a good time. https://bikehedonia.wordpress.com/2022/01/03/before-times/2 points
