  4. No not that 180 but it's been 180 days since i last rode a bike so today I needed to put that right. @Slowlycatchymonkey said the weather was going to be fab but it bloody wasn't when I left home at 11.30 am , i couldn't see in front of my face and it didn't get any better for a while.............. Anyway, perhaps her forecast was right because as I got nearer to her manor the sun started to poke it's head through the fog. By time I got to Chew Valley lake it was lovely............ and the various birdies were enjoying it as well................... I rode up over the Mendip hills and down through the old rode into Wells where it was starting to get positively balmy. From there I rode on to Shepton Mallet where I stopped to have a gander at the old prison, I have actually been in there about 38 years ago but not as a guest of her majesty you understand............ From there I took the Frome road but stpped at Doulting to have a sandwich and a coffee from my flask . While I was there I got a phone call from my mate Big Tone and we agreed to meet up for a coffee at Farrington Farm. I stopped to say hello to this lot on the way in ............. and then we sat in a strange sort of hobbit house for our coffee, Tone is one big hobbit at 6' 4'' tall From there it was a short 18 miles back home . It was great to be out riding again and I may get to repeat the exercise again on Saturday

  5. I hate all this tech......and yes, I know that sounds strange coming from somebody who's been in IT for over 30 years! But I feel that all this stuff has it's place and it's not on a bike! And I don't want to use a mobile app to get the washing machine or pellet burner to work either. I'll stick to pressing the fucking button.

  6. For me riding a bike is to get away from it all i like the fact there's no distractions although i do find the maps essential for my type of riding. I'm all for technological advances when it comes to the bike itself things like fuel injection but ABS and traction control on a bike with less than 100 horses i could do without. I've stopped going on the CRF1000 Facebook page because since they brought out the 1100 all i see is how do i connect my phone to my bike questions and apparently i don't know just ride the fucking thing isn't the correct answer

  9. It’s no coincidence that nympho’s are messaging since my bike was on the front page.

  30. I know this is an old thread but feel compelled to add my vote here for the CB500X stock rear shock, nominated in the category of "REAR SHOCK MOST LIKELY TO LAUNCH YO ASS INTO THE BUSHES". Honestly the worst rear shock I've even had to deal with, wtf. I rode a brand new 2019 cb500x back from Bangkok to Chiang Mai (for someone who bought it and was too scared to ride it BKK) and sweet jesus it was like riding a pogo stick. 19" front wheel was no issue, tipped in nicely, but as soon as you so much as looked at a blemish in the road service that rear shock would be yeeting you through the air. Zero stars, would not recommend, get YSS tomorrow or Ohlins if have too much money. That's my 2 cents' worth. My 3 cents' worth is that having something like this wrong in your set up can totally discombobulate you, and once you lose confidence then everything becomes difficult. I had old tyres on the CBR650 for a few months there and it got to a point where I dreaded riding it down the mountain in rain because I had zero confidence that i wouldn't just slide off the road with the run-off. A new set of Rosso IIIs and I feel like a new woman. Keen to hear what was the outcome for you here.

  31. Haha... I've only ever been told that I'm "cunning as a shithouse rat" but clearly don't qualify for the eyesight classification, being -13 I guess I'll just have to live with the disappointment

  34. The photo shows the original prison which is a tourist attraction nowadays, the modern prison is next door but I'm not sure if it's still used. My leg feels pretty good, gear-changes were ok and I got home to find out that they can re-fit my original socket tomorrow so that should be much better .
