  2. got back from the UK late last night and today so far i'm into the third machine of washing, have removed roof box and bars from the car, washed the car and done the twins maths and French homework with them. weather is positively summery but looks like I won't get out on the bike if we all want to get back to work / School in good order tomorrow. Then I'll just need a weeks holiday to get over this one...

  4. I had some pics but they were on my pooter which I didn't have with me in blighty and we didn't get home till late last night so too late. t's got to be Tango's new trumpet for me, though I like @Tym's pic, and I reckon @XTreme stopped where he did in order to pick up his topbox which just fell off in the road so it was unintentional and doesn't count.

  7. I’m booked for the Thunder in the Glens rally for the last weekend in August and I will be doing the NC500 the week commencing the 29th of August, just planning it all now. It’s very unlike me to plan something that far in advance.

  9. Got the job done on the marmite wagon going by the skinned knuckle scale i skinned none so it was an easy job This was the bush i had to change located at the front end of the rear diff Had to make some bits to press the new bush back in taking the old one out was just a hammer and chisel job New bush in I've been getting a judder at low RPM in high gear now and again for the last few years and couldn't work out what it was, this seems to have fixed it stupid thing is i had the car MOT'd last month and the guy never mentioned this. I got under the car to re fit the exhaust heat shield that was rattling last week and spotted it straight away never liked this new MOT station i'm using he does servicing on our works vans he's fucking shit at his job i thought he'd be ok on the MOT's.

  16. It should be Tango’s lovely new stead but then really a shot from Xtreme with no topbox is like a miracle Ultimately although not the most artistic shot in the world it just has to be Boboneleg, its a pic of him making it out on his bike after surgery and horribly long wait for freedom. Must have felt so good, its a pic of joy, reckon youd struggle to find anything better than someone getting back on a trail for the first time after lengthy hospital imposed incarceration.

  26. I almost voted for @Tango, because of the purple (is that purple?) gas tank and the pretty bike, but voted for @Sofia because of the Alentejo hills and trees and sunshine and because it´s an amazing place to ride. And the Speed Triple too

  30. I would like to say my photo is not photo shopped in any way @Pedro needs to go to specsavers and @XTreme needs to stop looking for ways to ban the winning photo

  31. So far, so good @Sofia , but I'll do a review when I've got a few more kms under my belt. Mine is the Street Scrambler, which is the little brother to the 1200 Scrambler, but so far it does exactly what I want from it.

  32. Its not as bad as you think Moon. My pair are going through it now the boy is getting a £10,000 per year student loan for the next 3 years he only starts paying back the loan once he starts earning over £27,000 a year if he earned £33,000 his repayments would be £54 a month and there's no interest on the loan, after 30 years it gets written off. that's why people are paying it for so long because you pay so little on the repayments. I know people who pay more for mobile phone contracts every month

  33. a report in the UK last week suggested that the majority of todays university students will be repaying their student loans well into their 60's...! average cost of a years at university inthe UK now at somewhere between 10 and 15 thousand pounds?! I'm sooooglad i refused that path when it was offered me. Here I pay about 250€ a year administration fee for N01 Daughter and the rest is free ( I obviously pay board and lodging) adn as a scholarship student she can eat in the University restaurant for 1€ per meal. To reply to Grace's original post, we don't do Valentines day gifts either but I used it as an excuse to buy her a bracelet which has "over the MooN" picked out in morse code...

  35. I'd listen to Slowly, @Richzx6r, or maybe even better your doctor after a checkup, a permanent concussion isn´t exactly ideal if you take up racing either.

  40. I was reading a comparison between the CRF1000 when it first came out and whatever KTM's equivalent bike was it was a long distance test with a mix of dirt and road, the conclusion was the KTM was a better bike but the presenters fought over who was going to ride the CRF back because the KTM was frying them in the heat of the day and neither wanted to ride it
