2 hours and a bit doing a southwards loop using almost exclusively minor backroads. temps were around 10 to 12deg with 7/10ths cloud cover and almost no wind. a chateau that you,ve seen before , Chateau de Faulin, built in the 15th century. Main difference between a !5th century French chateau fort and an english 15th century castle? look closely at the tower on the right The arrow slits are horizontal. Adapted for crossbow use rather than the english longbow which needed vertical slits. ( I know you really needed to know that and will all sleep better for knowing it ) and a very enjoyable 2 hours it was!4 points

Went to York for the weekend with some friends. They've had a bit of rain it seems, we had a bit of trouble getting close to the city due to whole roads shut by massive floods. Second picture down (if it doesn't do its usual trick of changing the order) shows a line of bollards where the road usually is. The opposite bank's road has disappeared altogether.3 points

I didn't do the walk around the walls unfortunately, just up some steps to get my first picture along an empty bit. Mostly it was rammed with people and I wasn't in a fit state to be held up if I needed to get through fast. I hope to go back as there was a lot I missed. Very friendly local people.3 points

I read earlier that car charging stations in Russia were made in Ukraine and the Ukrainians still have access to them, so they've programmed them to display "Putin is a dickhead"!3 points

This is one of my 'take a picture looking directly into the sun' shots. You haven't a clue what you are looking at, you can't see the display, you are blinded temporarily......but the clever part of the image software always sorts it out and it usually looks nice. I did the same for some of the river shots.2 points

Im hoping so. If not hubs will sort it as he's a welder. Just want to lower it first and then I'll know whats what.2 points

Nope But I know all the professional Youtoobers are desperate for us all to follow them on twitter as well as sign up for their U-teube channels and I'm damn certain they wouldn't bother if they didn't make money from it. there's already been a plethora of fake photos and info on farcebuke so why should twatter or slapcat or any of the other social media plateforms be any different?2 points

It's a beast as well.. The Railway Museum was a lovely place, but quite crowded, also difficult to get far enough away from anything to take a picture of the whole thing. I have not shown all the railway pictures to avoid it being too much. My mates stayed in the pub for this, I wandered over to it, walking gingerly and slowly. Cost me a pound to get in. Took some pictures of Mallard from above.2 points

It was something about a cunt appearing in the dead of night near a river that isn’t a river.2 points

Tory chairman Ben Elliot's concierge firm has suddenly removed the web page about its Russian business. It comes after scrutiny of its work for billionaire oligarchs close to Putin. Quintessentially had 50+ "lifestyle managers" in Moscow helping elite clients. Yes......the chairman of the party that governs the UK has a business specialising in moving Putin's Oligarchs into the UK to launder their dirty money.2 points

s'funny how none of these "predictions" were ever bandied about before the events themselves. They are also ALWAYS negative. ( they are also ALWAYS absolute bollox, but that's just my opinion)2 points

never had an automatic before so can't really compare ( though have driven plenty of autos with flappy ears or tiptronic boxes but couldn;t really see the point. I CAN see the point howevr if you're gettting into 4WD and diff lock situations where I wouldn't want an automatic at all. I haven't yet driven the CVT in a mountainous region so can't say how effective it is, except that wth the hybrid version, the electric motor recuperates energy from the wheels to recharge the batteries which makes the engine braking more apparent than most auto boxes.2 points
