  1. FFS !!! All you've done over the past months is moan about how heavy bikes are and now you buy a behemoth ................... Having said that, it looks very nice and clean. ANd .................. definitely a puddle dodger

  2. I know exactly what you're going to say so I could have prepared all the relevant answers. But I couldn't be arsed......so I'll let you all vent! And just in case you think I've taken pics of somebody else's bike...... It's a 2007 R1200GS.....just look at the condition! It's exceptional. 62K kms (38K miles), 1 old guy owner who's retired Guardia Civil. Two BMW dustbins (already removed thanks to a video call with @Pedro), Givi Trekker topbox, Givi touring screen, heated grips, and centre stand! One year's guarantee as well. I wasn't particularly looking for one of these......in fact I didn't even know what I was looking for. But at a price differential of €2K on top of the 650.....it was a fucking no-brainer.

  4. 5kg heavier than the Strom, 7kg lighter than Fred's, and about 35kg lighter than my R1150GS. Don't get me wrong.....I'd prefer it to be lighter. But I either compromise on weight or I compromise on power. The wife (strangely enough) was the one who put the idea in my head.....because she said she'd like to get out now and again on the bike if it was as comfortable as Big Bird. When I got it back she looked at it and said "Well Big Bird had a longer beak than this one".

  6. No. Not in the slightest. Had one since 1997 so was long past the time to move on. It’s in good hands now. Just a shame it’s not coming with us next month.

  19. Miss America arrived yesterday and after sorting the swap and quick cup of tea Sarge headed off on the T700 for his homeland (Wales) for the night........... I had a couple of hours getting au fait with my new (to me) Donkey. First thing to come off was the O/E seat which I replaced with my 15 year old corbin......... I also fitted my sacrificial side panels as the O/E panels are too tidy to leave on and get rubbed by my luggage. Then I removed the O/E rack and pannier rails and fitted my Scaggs rack and copy pelicase...... and last job before it got too late was to fit the JNS headlight..........

  31. Been working a lot this week, a lot of problems with pricing and my clients wanting to suspend new orders. Tomorrow will take my bike in to the mechanic, and change fluids, probably getting it washed over the weekend too as it's full of bugs and mud, next week it's going on a tour with Sofia. It should be summer weather, too, hopefully not too hot. The weekend is also going to have a lot of dog walks, bitches on the neighborhood are on heat and he's quite keen on going out for walks

  37. This morning I rode it into work so we could see if the header bolts would free up as I have a new exhaust system to fit, I think we caught them just in time before they became welded to the head........ We replaced them with some Ducati items (temporary fix) as we will fit studs and copper nuts when the new exhaust system goes on .............. The bike rides really well, it has a strong mid range with the TM40 and the suspension soaks up all the pot holes nicely
