This brought back a memory from the past i'd rather had stayed forgotten, i had gone to a Turkish restaurant in Cardiff and had mutton slow cooked for something like 24hours and it was one of the best meals I've ever had. A few weeks later i was in the local pub three sheets to the wind telling my mates wife about it and she said mutton? mutton? and kept repeating it in disbelief she got on my nerves a bit so i said yes mutton like you Sue god i wish the ground had opened up i don't think she ever forgave me There's a bit more to the Turkish restaurant i may have to resurrect a thread for that story4 points

@Grasshopper's Ride spent sometime looking at your website. I have to say its very nicely done, congrats. You have a lyrical way of writing that borders on whimsy but contains emotions that keep it grounded, great work, I like it. Nice short length vids, easy voice to listen to and unsurprisingly from you great pics. If I could be arsed to take pics or document stuff (yes I know Ill regret it later) I’d love to be able to produce such smooth content. Thats going to make an excellent scrap book for you later on. I signed up so you’re now obliged to keep adding the good stuff3 points

Not sure the weathers going to be good for some https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/may/20/spain-braces-for-heat-wave-of-extraordinary-intensity Boring weekend for me mostly catching up on previously shirked responsibilities. Might try and get out for a ride and squeeze in a bit of experimental kitchen cos in a moment of mad boredom a couple of weeks ago I might have spent £50 on a Leg of Mutton, 100% grass fed hung for three weeks bit of Mutton but still probably not my finest spend3 points

I'm supposed to be out for a trail ride today, it's raining at the moment and some hefty showers later but I'm keen as riding in the rain always adds a different perspective to it. Waiting on a phone call from the run leader now to say nay or yay3 points

@ReggiePezza probably around 3,000 miles.. depends a lot on the weather, if we need to relocate to wait it out. that could mean further east in Austria, south into Italy or south east to Slovenia. Also depends on which region of Austria we aim for on the Sunday. The Swiss end.. or directly to Zell am See. see how it goes.2 points

Ooh yeah. Excitement building now. Got a bunch of fresh camping stuff to play with this weekend, so I can tie some knots and pretend to be ray mears. Still need to sort out an MOT for the bike though, which would've been tomorrow but I've had to cancel to go pick up a fridge instead. Fresh front tyre arrived though, same as Tony, I'm scared the current one won't make the journey (how many miles are we expecting to do?). Had the same fear about the rear before Ireland, but the replacement arrived at my house about the point in time I went over the Welsh border, a bit late like. Takes ages since the big B for juicy cheap tyres from Germany from the mighty Delticom corporation (mytyres). It was stuck somewhere in England in quarantine but never mind, this time I'm not rushing for once (... Err but I still need an mot). The rear after Ireland was definitely a bit illegal, though Jack, being more tyre rugged wouldn't have thought twice, he's a mad man.2 points

At first not so good, the trailer we would really like is a wait of 6 to 8 months to have it built. They have become really popular here and there are only poorly made ones available. Plus it is the start of the camping season here... Then we went to this big RV place that had lots of the big trailers, just too much for us. Then the sales dude said they had a small used trailer in the back corner behind some stuff. It was just sitting back there all lonely. Funny enough it was just what we were looking for small, affordable, rugged and I like that it is used, as it is the first time we are driving with a trailer so I am sure it will get a few scratches...... I am a bit nervous about driving with it....I will just need to not be a spaz....and go slow! We pick it up on Tuesday. It wouldn't have happened but we had to stay somewhere for a week to handle some stuff and so we were able to make the purchase. It's funny, the place we are staying is called Horsefly and the trailer in called a TigerMoth, what the hell with the bugs....lol2 points

Monkey pox makes an appearance every now and then, doesn’t generally take off because it doesn’t transmit easily from human to human. Cors theres always room for a mutation but its not something I’d be concerned about. Worry wise its up there at the level of getting bubonic plague from a squirrel bite2 points

What is this ‘shopping’ people go to do? Tortuous way to spend your time. Unless its bike shopping then thats completely different.. or getting supplies or gear for a trip.. or.. nope they’re the only types of shopping that are acceptable.2 points
