More rufty tufty 80s bike camping (priest on the left this time), this time it's the arse end of my CX. I was the only person with a camera back then so I'm not usually in the pictures. Man in blue hat is the colourful character (Wombat) who introduced me to motorbikes, a life changing moment really if I think about it.6 points

Good god 27 in man years is about 14. Unless they've attacked life from all angles, in which case we'll be needing to see the talent testing clinic results3 points

I agree, my childhood memories of the 70s are of a landscape that hadn't changed much from films I saw made in the 40s and 50s. Corner shops, barbers, pubs and butchers were definitely the same apart from the decimalised prices. It all started changing in the late 80s and seems to be accelerating.3 points

Great Fred. It's good mid range grunt and the suspension was superb even with all the camping gear on. I did have one issue with the cable for the digital speedo as the 'cookie cutter' disc on the front wheel tried to eat through it when it came loose3 points

Sunday we crossed New York and rode through the Adirondacks. What a let down. The "mountains" are like the "Peaks" in the Peak District - so they're not mountains at but rolling hills. Lots of traffic and kinda crappy little towns we passed through. I won't be back. Did see a cool beach on Lake Ontario though...3 points

Drink, drugs, occasional outbursts of violence, followed by the swelling of one of his organs (liver?) so much that it nearly stopped his heart beating. This was followed by a promise made to a fictional character up above whilst laying in a hospital bed to be a good boy from now on. Of course, religion, like drink or drugs can take over some peoples' lives to extremes.3 points

I took a picture in the same place looking the opposite way, I was very lucky all cars were absent and just before I got my camera out a vintage car pulled up, parked and the driver went inside one of the houses. Unfortunately I made a faux painting version of my photo and I am not sure where the original is. Same railings though.3 points

Arrived at our hotel around 8:15 PM and sought out a place for dinner. Only to find that most places close at 8:00 por 9:00 PM. Our only option was the bowling alley down the street. I can't describe how bad that place was. Hopefully something better today will pop up as we cross into Maine. More later.....2 points
