  1. I rode out on Saturday lunchtime to join a minibus full of people going to an open air music thing and then I rode home again last night just before it got dark. I left the main road due to a combine harvester doing 10 mph and taking up the whole road and took to the back narrow lanes near my house to get ahead of it. I was just coming up to a 3 way junction when what I initially I thought was a small deer was running across the road ahead. Then I saw the ears! Jesus, how big do hares get????? I've only ever seen them as a distance in the middle of ploughed fields before where there is nothing to scale them against.

  2. This puts a whole new spin on illegal hare coursing. I think the dogs need to be armed for their own protection.

  4. They've got surprisingly close on a couple of occasions and they do like a bit of killing. They took themselves of for a walk once and the girl down the lane no longer has guinea pigs

  5. My mother in law has two setters and if they put up a hare they can really shift, its quite magnificent but they've never caught a single one, they just can't change direction quickly enough the hares arent so stupid to run in a straight line.

  12. Out before 10......but it was already 33 and rising! It was a round trip of 160kms so it had really hotted up by the time I got back around 12.30! The bike went brilliantly.....no fuss or drama, no oil leaks, and no warning lights! After recent experiences having peace of mind and total confidence in the bike makes a big difference. Worked it a bit harder on the motorway.....120KMH/70mph is around 6k revs but it's quite happy at that point. Not stressed in any way, and if you need to overtake there's plenty more there. I love the bike, it's smaller, lighter, and much easier to manage than the bikes I've had in recent years! Why do they keep making bikes that are the size of small cars FFS? And I also found when I parked up that the turning circle is incredible. Where I'd normally be doing a 3 point turn this just turns on a sixpence, and doesn't feel top heavy either. So all good AFAIC......besides the fucking heat that is! Here we go.....
