I had a free pass today and the weather was looking ok so a chance to get out on the Sled for a decent ride. I wasn't really feeling fit enough to go yomping up hills to look at the reamains of castle's or towers but while perusing a map online last night I noticed a Donkey Sanctuary in Devon. So, off we got at 08.00 am and down through Cheddar Gorge before the hordes decsend........... Arty farty shot of my new lid, and no @Buckster it doesn't signify wanker, the 'W' is for Wobert Down across the levels in glorious sunshine and a quick stop for a coffee by the river Isle near Muchelney Abbey............. Now there was a lot of guessing on todays route as I haven't set up a GPS on the Sled yet so it was more a case of 'follow your nose'. Anyway I found the sanctuary and big bonus it was free to get in............ Donkey's were smoothed and gawped at for the next hour before it got to hot to stay outside in heavy biking gear................ So I went inside to their excellent resturant and had a Caeser salad and possibly the best chocolate milkshake I've ever tasted. I started the journey back home but around the Baltonsborough triangle I realised why I love a good GPS as I managed to spend 45 minutes going around in a big circle. I realised this when I passed the same parked car twice as it had a big 'for sale £2200' sign on it which made me think 'in your fucking dreams' Anyway, normal service was resumed when I found my way back to the A37 and one last coffee stop at one of my favourite trails............... #5 points

My vote is hanging between @Sir Fallsalot and @Sofia, Fred's picture is just dirtroad bliss and Sofia's is just a pretty bike with amazing light and a shape I am fond of, I know how happy she was to be riding her bike to that location for the sunset so it does help. I´ll see tomorrow or after if my vote is decisive towards one or the other. Regarding the rest: @Tym put a shotgun on his KLR and rode around the farm / town looking from people parking wrongly, not sure one should encourage that! @XTreme's is a nice location, but the picture is shit. There's more railing than bike on that picture, and the tall windscreen to bike ratio makes it look like those guys with big foreheads from startrek. Doesn't have a top box, which probably sent Pete insane with anxiety, but the sun is on the wrong side! Engine should be getting sunlight! @Marcel's is a cool picture, it's a cool bike and a very cool scenery. I dislike orange bikes but in this case it works with the scenery colors, however the bike raped poor Marcel throughout that trip and as such doesn't deserve BOTM. It's a cool picture though, I might vote for it. @boboneleg's Ducati is a cool looking bike, I like the red but dislike the golden wheels. Gold wire wheels belong on an 80s or 90s japanese bike, regardless of the wheels, grey skies like that make it hard for me to like a picture, not his fault but there you go. @Six30's, it's a Suzuki in front of the corner of a coffee shop, seems like you want to not get votes because you take a shit picture, that's a step away from Rich who likes to take pictures with dumpsters as scenery. @Richzx6r, by the way, was playing Card Fogarty wannabe and didn't have a single cool picture to submit, I rest my case. @Buckster's Harley, I really like the bike and it´s pose, love that front wheel, bike is standing like a proud beast but the scenery isn't great. Lack of effort after being in amazing locations this month, slipping to old habits?3 points

This is the HDRCGB, I’ve been a member for years, they actually ride their bikes and I have friends from around the U.K. that I have made through the club, they are good for finding parts, the club has a specialist tool collection that members can borrow as required and they are a great knowledge resource. The rallies are great fun as well. I’ve never not enjoyed a rally with this crowd. But like it has been said, it’s a biker thing, you wouldn’t get it, you are ginger.3 points

We can't discriminate though Fred......this is 2022.....the old taboos have gone. If someone feels the need to dress up as an extra in Al Pacino's "Cruising" movie and hang round in a muddy field with others of the same persuasion then that's their business.3 points

Yes that seems to be the norm in most events now, although the triumph owners one i went to a few weeks ago was ok probably because they were so old they had trouble putting their socks on let alone a corset3 points

Every few years there's a Harley Rally that goes on about a mile from the house at the Fuencaliente open air pool. Hundreds of bikes there! Over the years I've gone and had a look a few times as they have accessory and clothing stalls there, and a live band in the evening. And I truly have to say that I have nothing whatsoever in common with the people there......zilch! It's like a dress up parade of people and bikes....not my thing. Now if you're talking race meeting clientele (particularly road racing), then that's a very different demographic and more my type of thing! Because it's all about the sport!3 points

Yes I agree with you Pedro... Don't personally like the orange... But it was the last one available for this year and I jumped on it... Don't know it kinda growing on me now having the bike for a few months now...2 points

I'm not going to take it off-road if I can help it. The front cylinder would be vulnerable even on a gravel road, I know you can get guards but I don't really want to do that at this point. Yes, I would take it on a long trip but it would probably be all tarmac.2 points

About 170 miles round trip @Pedro . Love it so far, the engine is pretty smooth for an old V-Twin, not really vibey at all. Decent brakes but not shit hot, fairly comfortable riding posiiton and seat but the best bit is the handling2 points

Tomorrow I’ll go visit my place for a couple of nights, check how things sre going in the extreme temperatures over the last weeks as it got to 47° there. Will be driving in my comfy airconditioned car as it’ll get to 37 or 39º over the weekend, and that’s just ruining tires on the motorway with little enjoyment.2 points

Didn’t ride, didn’t feel like it. August, and September or October and the bike will get plenty of use!2 points
