Not the prettiest of photos, but one for the List of Honours of 2022! This is us ( me and Miss Dark ) just arrived at the garage after 3 hours of relentless rain that was either sideways or bouncing from the tarmac and, to make it even more interesting, hale. Funny thing listening to hale inside the helmet! Its a long time since I was properly soaked, even the water proofs relented to the deluge. So here is a picture I took today because we both managed to arrived even though the weather tried really hard to stop us! This bike deserves a knighthood!5 points

That is Scruff. He belongs to the owner of the motorcycle workshop, but would wander into our contractor's yard (which was attached) all the time so everyone knew him. He liked to chase lorries and attack them, the bigger the better. He also bit quite a few people. The old man looking down the hole is/was Ted. Now known as Dead Ted. He was actually in his early 80s but kept it a secret so he could still work. He loved that dog and would feed him every day during the week, the dog knew which car was his and would come running whenever he saw it. After Ted died the dog would be waiting for him every day for a few weeks. I used to bring a tin of dog meat and feed him whenever I was in for a few months afterwards. He learnt to recognise my bike, a clever thing considering there was a constant stream of bikes in and out all day. He bit one person too many though and he and his mum (an Alsation believe it or not, she chased motorcycles only) were retired to live at their owner's farm instead of coming to work with him. I took the picture for Ted's funeral service card, it was the best I could do as he kept jumping up at me to see if I had a tin of dog meat the whole time.2 points

Well, the gods of weather had in for me this time. Its typical September weather, 2 hours after I arrived it was sunny!! Autumn showers. Wasn't expecting this rain, basically. Its the Atlantic storms that hit sometimes.1 point

The coast normally gets a week or two of snow, sometimes it can stick around, but not for long. We are ready to be winterized if needed. …… now watch the coat have record snowfalls this year….1 point

We found a spot in the middle of the Sunshine Coast. We lived on the lower part of the coast so we didn’t want to be in that area again. This is the best place to spend a Canadian winter for sure. We found a small privately owned bit of land that has a few RV hook up spots and is empty in the winter, except for the colourful locals. The owner is really chilled and is only asking for a bit of rent, super deal. It is also an area where we can canoe and hike all winter, should be perfect. It’s going to be interesting to stop traveling though, after 5 months on the road. I am looking forward to making a few movies over the winter of all the footage I have collected. We expect to settle into our winter spot near the end of October. The plans for next Spring are already in motion as we will be back on the road as soon as the snow starts to melt. …..this does mean I will be around here more often to annoy everyone for a few months…1 point

This may not look like it has much to do with nature but this was a road up until the early 70's and it shows how quickly nature can take over............... It's a nature reserve/walk now and it just half a mile from my house. It's strange to think that houses stood here even during my lifetime...............1 point
