This is an example of Dark Motorcycling......you blowhards should try it sometime. Instead of posturing on here and boasting about your bikes! I don't follow the path of sitting round all day in a cafe, or having an ice cream at the seaside, or splashing in puddles as seems to be the norm here. Instead I walk a different path and push the psychological boundaries with my much maligned and sorely underrated CB500X. Today I followed the old railway route from Baul to Zujar-Freila......which incorporates the old railway tunnel and eventually leads to the abandoned station. I didn't ride through the tunnel as I did 2 years ago because I ran into a bunch of walkers then......so I didn't want to push my luck again! After all, it is a greenway and there is no vehicular access permitted......and I can only play the lost Tourist card so many times. So I walked through it......and you know how much I hate walking! But if I wanted to get the footage it had to be done! And here it is......the vid is a combination of onboard and location footage! At the entrance to the path that leads to the Tunnel.... This is where most of you would start crying and go home...... But I'm made of sterner stuff so in I went..... Till eventually I was in total darkness! I kept on going to the end though..... Then back through the tunnel to get to the bike. Never saw a soul! It was then a run through very remote roads to get to the abandoned station in Zujar-Freila. In the vid you'll see the line running parallel to the road! Every time I come here more of it has collapsed..... The view up the track from the direction I rode in..... Then back on the bike and across to Zujar! 26C today......on the last weekend of October! I don't expect to get hot on the bike this time of year! Very odd! Now I know the usual suspects will be nitpicking with this report......but as I've said before, you're all more than welcome to get your asses over here sometime and try it for yourself! @Skippy didn't come to any harm last week after all! OK, admittedly his jacket and Kwak didn't fare so well......but these things can happen anywhere! Just coincidence, nothing more!6 points

So having seen that no planes would be airbourne today I popped down the road and hid under some trees to have a coffee, a nice flat top box also doubles as a good table Out into the wind and rain again and I headed for Shillingstone where I had seen online that the North Dorset railway had a facility there. It was quite impressive so I spent a bit of time wandering around the old station............6 points

It does? I never heard that one before it doesn't feel like a monkey humping a football, maybe a monkey strapped to a cruise missile6 points

So I rode through Cranbourne Chase and across to Broughton to start heading north . When I got to Boscombe Down I skipped across the A303 and onto a byway that I knew to take a short cut................... Once I was onto more solid ground I stopped to eat my sandwiches under the shelter of the trees. When I'd finished the rain had stopped but it was still very windy. I rode up through Bulford and just before Netheravon I got onto Salisbury Plain to ride the gravel perimeter road towards home............... As usual the Honda did it without fuss or bother and even held onto the tarmac in the rain with knobblies on , all hail the mighty CRF5 points

Sorry Pete but I thought it was a catchy heading Anyway, if you exclude commuting I haven't been for a ride for over a month. Various reasons but many due to family stuff (a bit like everyone I suppose). So today I needed to get out for a ride and with the weather forecasters telling it was ok in the south that's where I went. The weather forecasters are lying bastards as it was more like an endurance test than a pleasant ride. Wind , rain and then blinding low sun when I turned north to head for home. So I took my usual backroads route to get to Shaftesbury and then headed for Compton Abbas airfield to watch some of the light aircraft coming and going. Not a feckin chance in that weather, the poor little planes all sat there with their coats on refusing to move..........4 points

From Shillingstone I started to head east saw a sign for a church up a dead end road at Ellingham, it was a very nice church but there were only about four houses in the village so it does make me wonder how big the congregation might be ? Now I was into the New Forest with its blanket 40mph speed limit but you can see why it's needed with dudes like this just wandering down the road............... The New forest has some marvelous scenery but it was all a bit damp and grey today.............. Never mind , this lovely gay red Honda will brighten things up4 points

So it's first clean just finished but I didn't get to detail it as it started raining just as I'd finished drying it.... There were a few bugs and some road grime on my beak so it needed cleaning I just didn't get around to polishing it due to the poxy rain, but once cleaned there's not a huge amount to do till its nice and shiny All dried and back in the stable ready to use for work in the morning4 points

I'm not sure what this is supposed to represent? Actually ice has a greater volume than water, so you'll notice that the level has dropped slightly after it melts. Anyway, fill the jug to the same level with water, and we'll call this the oceans, ok? Now go to your freezer (which we'll call Antarctica) and grab a good handful of ice cubes and drop them into the beaker (oceans) and then see what happens to the water level in the beaker (oceans). I'll give you a clue, it's called the Archimedes principle. Eureka!4 points

And true if your bike wins the forum might be flooded with new female members...i welcome the change...with some of the bikes that some are running lately.. I'm finding it very difficult to figure out wich is wich...male or female..4 points

They say that the camera never lies, but she was painfully slow and seemed to only know how to use 2 gears on her bike. But, fair play to her, she must be in her 70's and she completed the ride on a non-ebike!4 points

Best way to get hold of Chris is to phone/text his mobile. I think that website is well old. @yen_powell rode down to him to get his Super Tenere sorted3 points

Yer. The tailbag clicks on and off easily, doesn’t obstruct the panniers being opened. It’s easy to remove your valuables and comes with a strap so you can put it over your shoulder, then your hands are free for taking pics… if you take ride pics..3 points

I'd be tempted to bypass the dynast stuff just to see what happens with the snatchy throttle. Might be that the last owner had it set up for performance.3 points

So just got the beast out of the stable and under the rear seat is A power commander 5 and auto tune module and the box for the transontranslogic quick shifter. Looking at the exhaust it would seem to be a full yoshimura stainless system So I'm going to hazard a guess its not quite as standard as I thought it was, but the modifications are in good taste I think be interested to see if the airbox mod and sports airfilter have been installed too3 points

Cheers. It has worked really well. It’s my only transport over here so I needed a good boot sized capacity so I can do a large shop or bungee something big on the back. With the luggage combos available I don’t need a car and can get that extra pack of beer It was excellent on the boiling hot ferry vehicle deck too. Just unclipped it and walked away. Still think it looks a bit of a state though3 points

You’re dandy Marcel. Pretty entertaining. As Pete always says it’s the intention that matters and your posts never have any malice in them, saul goodman3 points

They returned it and delivered it to the house the fallowing morning...i didn't have any protection with me.... I've spent all day preparing for some van action. I had a go at fitting the Beta in the marmite wagon and it fits with room to spare just have to strap the front end down 2 inches to get it in That was the quick part the rest of the day i made a frame to hold the bike in place with some old ply and fencing timber i had kicking about Ok now i need to get on a ride there's one in Dolgellau in a few weeks waiting to see if its full now3 points
