  1. Whatever happens at the end of these nominations I hope @XTreme keeps this forum going. For me personally this is my go to place on the internet, this forum makes me laugh and that's great because there isn't a lot to laugh about nowadays. I don't do facetwat so I'd miss the peeps on here if it finished , That's as close to wearing my heart on my sleeve as you're going to get . @Buckster , you can say 'gay' now

  3. Took a very rainy short cut through an east London cemetery. "I know", thought I. "I'll take some pictures!" A Cockney Boot Hill. I reckon they filmed Amy Winehouse in there. Council lets it grow wild now, I keep meaning to get in and take pictures at Bluebell or Snowdrop time. I didn't have the heart to take a picture of the large group of very small headstones where all the children are buried.

  4. I've had a think about this and in retrospect I will accept the nomination. That said I expect in the long term that this place gets back to not needing moderation.

  5. Not sure Pete. I'm not on here all the time, probably only twice a day but if you have a problem finding a mod then I will.

  6. I agree Bob, this forum has a place and fills a role that Facebook doesn’t so it’s vital that it keeps going. For me, one of its main attractions is the variety of people, opinions and subjects that surface here; some of it is of questionable quality (yeah, sorry about that folks) but generally it’s interesting and mostly it’s fucking funny. I mean, you can’t refer to someone as a cunt on Facebook or in the local library anymore so this forum is like a sanctuary from all the sterile, sound bite laden shite that seems to permeate most of social media. Nevertheless, it does need someone to keep an eye on it to make sure it maintains what we have………..and I’d make a terrible moderator anyway because as a good friend of mine once said to me “Do you know what Skippy, your best attribute is knowing exactly how far to go too far”

  15. I think the sheer fact I own the best production motorcycle ever made makes me defacto mod material without need for being voted for, infact you should all be worshipping the very ground I walk on all you little people

  17. How should I know, I hope not. I'd start by deleting all posts that trigger me to ignore said posters, and considering my previous trigger happiness I would say I'm not a good nominee. The responsibility of what would happen would fall on who gave me the gun. Guns don't erase threads or ban people, moderators do

  19. Nomination from me...... @boboneleg He's well respected by everybody and would probably be a steadying influence! Up to him whether he thinks he will have the time, and whether he wants to accept the nomination.

  24. When I was at school I loved p.e didn't like cross country running but one sports day I did 1500m, 800m 200m and 100m all one after the other and won all bar 800m... Was strange as a kid I was rapid over 100m(sub 11½s) but also good over long distance at 1500m Now if I've got to do a lap of rugby pitch I'm fucked after 100m

  25. I might have said this before but the first couple of years of high school i never turned up with my kit because i hated it and i was given the bat across the arse for not having a valid excuse for not participating, even though it hurt it was better than games as it only lasted minutes instead of an hour, my mad mate Wayne was the same. The bat every week turned into a sigh as the years went on, every time we turned up for games we were told to just go for a walk along the river bank so we kept going until we got home, Wayne started bringing in a couple of his air guns in a skateboard bag so we could go shooting on the way home, games became the favorite subject i didn't attend and looked forward to it every week LOL

  29. That is so true I think everyone who liked games also hated cross country. They must of cos I hated it and ran slowly had a fag and still ended up fast enough to be put forward for County trials, they must have been going backwards

  30. I’d nominate Ren or at least his teeth if he can find some. At least he’s got a better bark than a bite, and he’s from Cardiff.

  31. Cross country running at my school was through a shit pit field like that but bigger and with cattle in it. You'd be sent out there in a pair of feckin 'PE knickers' (green pants) and a polo shirt to sink up to your knees. One day we ran in and didn't have the energy to get out. We sunk further into the mud but eventually pulled ourselves out. I accidentally kicked a big lump of it into my friends face, went in her eye, nose n mouth. We got whacked for that (PE teacher was an ahole). She was ill for a week. The showers were broken so we were expected to scrape this piss/mud/shit combo off, put our uniform back on and go to the next lesson. My mum was so disgusted I had a new note excusing me from cross country running every week Aah the good ol' days...

  34. Thanks Bob.....it's my hope that we can keep it going, but that depends on the cooperation and understanding of the members! If I have to keep dealing with shit all the time then it's not worth it for me given all the other things in my life which have to take priority.

  35. Hmm Switzerland obfuscates. Tango rabble rousing? As for Tym, handling him with kid gloves doesn't work. He continues with his side swipes that I'm a woman, stupid, does my husband know I'm here looking for man, I'm English (who obviously all suck), I'm from the other forum, I'm a lefty and one of my favourites I'm the wrong colour. WTAF?! If you can get Tym to PM you his insults then dandy otherwise I will continue to respond if I see them. Buck was the one who raised concerns about the antisemitism. He is a long standing member. Pedro and Buck pointed out the difficulties in you bringing Zzzak back into the mix. All of those names are your old school. Putting all this on new members... meh

  36. @Tym @Tango @Slowlycatchymonkey Let me clarify things here......because I can see both sides! Firstly, the people who came in from the other place nearly two years ago actually came here because they were friends of mine. I've always appreciated them supporting me.......and I was actually quite humbled at the time because something like that had never happened before to that extent. The concerns they had about the content in question were absolutely correct, and I'm glad they raised these issues. However, the way they were raised in terms of negative public threads wasn't the right way to do it. A PM to me would be more appropriate so I have the chance to deal with it.......rather than airing our dirty linen in public. And I would encourage members to do that in the future if you feel there's an issue that needs to be looked at. Now that approach has caused Tym to make some points to you. Because he (and many of the others) have seen this before on other forums when people would deliberately start "rabble rousing" threads in an attempt to destabilise the place. I don't think for one minute that that was your intention......but it could be interpreted that way. It also doesn't help that the OP of one of those threads hasn't even posted in there since......apart from his assertion that the place is going downhill. In terms of server stats the reverse is happening as I posted last week. So why does he say it's going downhill? Is it the issue that you have, or is it something else? I haven't got a clue! How am I supposed to deal with that? There's no specifics, no relevant links.....nothing! Now can you see what I'm saying here? A PM with links to your relevant concern or issue is the correct way to do things. Going forward we plan to get a couple of Mods in place.....unless the vote goes against having Mods. In which case I'd be saying......"What exactly is it you want? You complained things weren't being moderated and now you've voted against having Mods"? Now just one final point! As you know, I carry all this myself in terms of cost, work, and maintenance. If it degenerates into the point where it becomes a burden then unfortunately this place will have to close it's doors for good. I just have too much going on in my life (as you all know) to be stuck dealing with stuff like this! I've put everything in place for it to be a great forum......but ultimately it's down to the members to make that happen.

  39. Sir Fallsalot. He finds most things from any end of the spectrum amusing. Even tempered, doesn't get his hair off, doesn't have a mean word to say and even after a couple of beers and being provoked he still holds it together.

  40. I feel that’s trivialising what’s going on. Folk arrive here expecting banter and bike talk (I’m pretty sure that’s what you want) and then see another less appealing darker tone and vote with their feet. It’s not about “hacking it” why hang around for something that you’re not enjoying? Personally the antisemitism that’s given a platform here is too much for me. Some of my family fled persecution, some died and both my grandads fought for our freedom against oppression at a cost so great it’s still reverberating down the generations. The damage to the people who survived is beyond measure, the price they paid is horrific. I hope it’s always too soon to turn that into a joke. I hope lunatics who are given a platform to push damaging delusional rhetoric are given the message sharpish that it is not wanted or tolerated… and maybe they should see a Doc. Encouragement to air their holocaust denying antisemitic conspiracy theorists views for clickbait is deplorable. Where there is acceptance of these views it creates the opportunity of being taken down a dangerous path. Allowing far right (or left) loons to dominate the course we’re taking while the people who think it’s disgusting say nothing because it’s easier or they might be accused of not hacking it in my book isn’t right. But that’s just me.. and millions of others who desperately don’t want to demean the sacrifice that our parents and grandparents made.
